Because you have to put your card on file when joining the school they have access to charge your card whenever. When I noticed I was charged an extra $55 in the month of November I asked Ms.Julie the director of the school what the charge was for. She told me that it was a custom fee for the recital in May and if we decided to not participate in the recital that we will be able to apply the $55 towards tuition. Later I decided to withdraw my daughter from the school. I asked them to apply the $55 towards the last month they charge upon withdrawal. Expected to be charge an additional $20 being that a months tuition is $75 and clarified with Abbey the Receptionist when I turned in my withdrawal form. To then be charge then entire $75. Still believing in the good of people and ethics in their business I figured I would call and explain what had happen and everything would get fix. Instead they never picked up or return my call after leaving a voicemail. Instead I received an email from Ms.Julie stating that costume fee are non refundable. Even though I wasn't asking for a refund I was simply asking for the charge to be applied towards tuition being that my daughter wasn't participating in the recital. I tried calling multiple times and still no answer so I decided to take a trip to have a conversation with Ms.Julie. Ms.Julie was very condescending and continued to interrupt me while I was trying to explain her the entire situation. She ended up cutting me off mid sentence for the last time and dismissed herself. My 5 year old daughter who looked up to Ms.Julie and was attending her class for several months was doing the potty dance and told me she really had to use the restroom. I started to walk towards the restroom with my daughter when Ms.Julie told me my daughter her former student is not allowed to use her restroom she needs to go next door to the gas station. My daughter was very hurt and I was disgusted. I am happy with my decision of withdrawing my daughter from this school. It was never about the money for me, rather about ethics and professionalism which clearly they have none at the Collierville Arts academy. These people don't accept honest feedback only compliments. They never admit to any wrong doing and never apologize.

They encourage you to come which is part of the fitness battle! Being older I appreciate the culture of friendliness and go at your own pace! Anyone I have met has been extremely nice. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY - UNQUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS AND HORRIBLE OWNER/MANAGEMENT. Please…read moreread my full review to get a better idea. I'm happy to answer questions if you have any upon reading this review. My email is Courtney.bland01@gmail.com. I posted a Facebook comment on the gym's FB page congratulating one of the instructors who was graduating and moving away. I actually congratulated that individual on his accomplishment, but I also commented that maybe we would see more classes offered taught by one of their most loved instructors. Fairly immediately, my comment was liked by others (positive feedback), but then quickly deleted by management. The following day, I sent a private message. The owner (Butch) contacted me and asked that I give him a call. Apparently, I didn't phone him quick enough, so then I got a threatening message saying my membership would be terminated if I didn't call by the end of the week. I'VE ATTACHED SCREENSHOTS OF THE CONVERSATION. He is a coward who doesn't accept CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. He is unable to separate his emotions from running a business. He flat out refuses to put a suggestion box in the gym for anonymous feedback. Instead, he claims to rather have feedback given to him verbally or in-person. As you can imagine, not everyone is comfortable providing feedback in that manner. Take it from me though, if you want to work out at this gym, don't provide any feedback unless it's 100% positive. Anything less and he'll cancel your membership. ‍ I've also been told he canceled someone's membership for commenting that the new hire instructors were not qualified. On the subject of instructors, there are only 2 instructors worth going to and they are very rarely scheduled (I'm happy to provide their names if you want to contact me). The rest are simply former kickboxing members turned instructor who have no real qualifications and terrible music selection for a high-intensity workout! Try the Quince or midtown locations -- more qualified instructors and better management who actually LISTEN to their members!

My child is 5, and has the option to come any 2 days a week that work for our schedule. Children learn self-discipline, respect, balance, and strength as they go through the skill levels from the very first day they recite to earn their white belt. Parents may stay and watch, or may leave and return to pick their children up at the end of a lesson. At a child's second lesson of the week, he or she will receive a sticker on their belt focusing on the skill of the week. Stickers are also given out for students who complete the once-monthly homework assignment. Cost for beginners is about $130 a month, either 2 or 3 days a week, uniform is usually included in the initial registration package. T-shirts, also acceptable for practice, may be purchased in the lobby area. Once or twice yearly, an inner-school tournament is held among all the USA karate locations throughout the city. Kids compete, but nobody walks away empty handed. My only gripe is the advertising. USA Karate really uses its' students to plug the karate classes to their friends, and even rewards the students who give out the most vouchers, entering them in drawings for a big prize.
