You can lose upwards of 500 calories a class and sometimes people tell me that and I look at them all skeptical...but there is no doubt here...at all. I can barely walk the three days afterwards. I am visiting from out of town this week and I needed a place to work out....b/c all I do is eat when I'm in Memphis. I just happened to find UFK online via martial arts search and I'm glad that I did. They just moved to a new location and the facility is very nice. I've been taking the kickboxing classes every day this week and...YES!! I'M SORE! The lactic acid buildup is fabulous. The bags that they use are muay thai bags - so they're VERY solid/hard....great for conditioning the shins (if you plan on using them as lethal weapons). Every class I've taken this week has been different - Tony and John shake things up, keep it interesting, keep you moving....and if you're not soaked by the end of class, you're slacking. They also do personal training and other martial arts. Highly recommended.

I also take my son to the Kids Klub and the staff care for him him very well. He asks to go everyday and they know him by name. I am thankful to be able to be comfortable at a gym while working hard to get healthy In addition to the gym being great! I need to point out that my favorite trainer at the location is Will! I met with Will over a year ago and he gets you the results you need! He not only focuses on getting you healthy (food intake, BMI, Fat %), he makes sure you get the workout you need. He is amazing at customizing a workout plan that works for you and your body. I just recently asked him to update my work out routine and he walked me through every step, the reps I need and what part of the body the exercise focused on! You will not be disappointed & he's very approachable as well!

If you are serious about boxing go look at another gym and spend more time instead of looking here you will regret wasting your money on here unless u are someone who just wants to workout and not serious about boxing

I was going to be in Memphis over the Christmas holidays and sent an email. Received a response from Brooke the same day encouraging me to drop in. Wanted to ensure that I created the proper approach, so I asked about the cost to attend a few drop-in classes while in town. She provided information on Bot's Boxing which operates from the same building at Memphis Judo. Brooke was very welcoming and instead of payment, asked for a review of their facility, instructors and the environment. My 5 Star rating speaks for itself, and i look forward to returning to the business when I'm in Memphis again.

I asked to pause for a while for legitimate reasons, but was denied. I attended for 8 months, paid for 4 I was unable to attend, then they charged me for an additional month. They tried explaining it to me that they needed to charge me on the first and the last of the month, but I guess it wasn't registering for me why I had to pay 13 payments for a 12 month contract. Very shady. And very rude and dismissive when I brought it up, not even trying to look into or understand the situation. I didn't make this a one star review because I really loved the instructors and my time there. It's honestly a shame. I had no idea other people were having the same experience, this can't be legal. I feel like they are setting themselves up for a lawsuit for no reason.

Great yoga studio for both beginners and advanced students!…read more Delta Groove offers a variety of yoga and meditation classes as well as workshops. I spent a summer in Memphis and I just happened to pass by this yoga studio and give it a try. It turned out to be a great decision with the various classes I got to experience from vinyasa to Kundalini. They even offered a Sunday afternoon Ayurveda workshop which was a great foundation place to get a better understanding of Ayurvedic medicine. The instructors were generous and offered materials for further education.

Prenatal Yoga w/ Emily Mulqueen…read more Going to prenatal yoga has been absolutely wonderful for my body and mind since I started going at about 18 weeks along. It's a low-impact fitness and helps you stay active during pregnancy. Emily leads the class and encourages everyone to move how they feel comfortable! She switches up the routine every class so it's never the same! I've enjoyed taking time away to focus on myself, my growing body, and my baby during these classes. Not to mention, the community of the class and being with other pregnant women in the area has cultivated a supportive environment where we can share our struggles, achievements, and our motivations throughout the pregnancy journey!

Christopher has an awesome kickboxing class. I'd like to see it more than once per week, that is disappointing. There is another kickboxing class but it's more like circuit/step and it's ok, but nothing like the Saturday class. I primarily attend classes. I would come more if they had additional classes. There are not enough of each type. The classes, like Zumba and yoga, are not very well attended but I think that it's due to the times, about half during work hours. This location has many more than at the Germantown location. For the most part I see the gyms are clean but not always. I haven't seen it as bad as the other comments state but it is acceptable to me. Finally, I'd like to see a comment or suggestion option other than Yelp. You have an app. Why not incorporate that into the app, add a button with a text field behind it. That way we know there is a better chance of it being reviewed.

You try and use the bathroom but two of the stalls are broken and the door to one of them is broken as well and then haven't bothered to fix it for months. The bathrooms might be the dirtiest thing I've ever seen. Literally bugs all over the showers. Half the treadmills don't work or barely do. And people get things stolen here every other week. The only redeeming quality this gym has is the sauna. And it's still the nastiest sauna I've ever been in but it gets hotter than any other one in the area. Honestly the only reason I stayed as long as I did.

We had our son enrolled for a short time but decided to end it due to (1) the teaching schedule not being consistent and (2) the instructors having zero knowledge on how to handle an Autistic child. I, the mother, made the call to terminate our contract. He wouldn't hear of it, kept dismissing everything I said with "let me talk to the man of the house and see what he says." Disgusting.
