Im happy to say he is a survivor, and in his daily routine he attends a social day program in Medford about 40 minutes from our home, with his services he is entitled to transportation! I can honestly say the last 2 years have been an absolute pleasure with "Ricar transportation"!! We went through about 15 different companies and it was one horror story after another! These companies that transport mental or disabled patients some like my son, who know some things, but suffer some sort of deficit! My son doesnt always know whats going on, he suffers short term memory loss, so as a Mom it was extremely difficult to put my son in somebody elses hands! Some companies leaving him down the block, or near sunrise hway and some just breaking down or bringing my so 2 hours late! The bottom line is that we Finally found a great company in Ricar, especially Theresa in dispatch and our favorite drivers Joanne, Marc and sometimes Steve! Hired TLC to take my mom and her aide to and from a doctor's appointment today. It was our first…read moretime using TLC, and only our second time ever using an ambulette service, and I can't speak more highly of the drivers and of the company itself. Dispatch coordinated a seamless, on-time pickup in both directions, and the drivers transported my precious cargo to and from the appointment safely and courteously as well. Also good to note, the ramps worked flawlessly and the vans were clean, warm and comfortable to ride in. The drivers were also adept at maneuvering my mom's power wheelchair so we didn't have any hair-raising moments there lol. We do own our own van with a wheelchair ramp, but our ramp can be finicky so on an inclement winter day such as today it was not only faster to use TLC's equipment, but the drivers took care of strapping her chair in safely so it was also less work for me and her aide in that regard too! Kudos to the team at TLC, and we will definitely use them going forward for our medical transportation needs!

The first time I called, the dispatcher was falling asleep on the phone and rambling on. I had to stop her and ask her to just please just send the cab. The second time, I had 4 people in the cab with me. I was supposed to be picked up first but I had to wait for the driver to go and pick up someone else first. Then I had to ride with 4 people in the car. The third time I called, she told me the cab would be right there. It was on time but I had a 2:30 appointment and completely missed my appointment bc they double-booked. The driver told me that we had to go out of our way to pick somebody else up before he could drop me off. I didn't get there until 3:00 and therefore missed my appt. The dispatcher said that she would give me a "deal" on my next cab. My next cab should have been free! So tonight I called bc I have to be somewhere by 7. It was 6:20 when I called. I told the dispatcher that the other girl had said she'd give me a "deal" on my next cab. He said he "couldn't honor it" bc she was not there. He told me to call back on the weekend and talk to her. I said that I may not even need a cab again for a while and who knows if it will be the weekend. I explained this to him. The conversation got heated and he hung up on me! I called back and he said that he "thought the conversation was over". Lol. I can't believe I was treated this way! So I asked him to not worry about it and please send the cab. Turns out that I had no need to worry. TrueCare showed up on time, loaded our wheelchair safely, and got us where we needed to go without any hassle. They even offer weekend pickups.
