I have used TLC for a couple of yrs now. I simply found them as we were going to a different store in the Plaza that they are located in. So I went back as a walk-in and a different day and I am so glad I did. It was the best Mani/Pedi I have ever had. I was asked what type of pedi I wanted a regular or spa, (the spa one is a bit more expensive but it is worth it in my opinion) and I got a spa pedi. It was fantastic. They do such a job on both my nails too. Anyhow they had me hooked right away. So let me say this, the staff is not real chatty. If you say something or ask a question of course they will talk with you. I have seen where people have complained about this, but you have to think about this for a minute. These workers are still learning their English and don't talk because of that. So come on people give them a break. How would you feel if you suddenly had to move to Italy and didn't speak the language that well and you had to go to work where you interacted with the clients. Well there you go. I wish I'd bothered to look up reviews before trying this place out. I got SNS nails done and, after they offered me stickers for designs and said they didn't know how to do anything "too complicated" (I opted for no design at that), the woman doing my nails made me bleed by being too rough and filing down my SKIN instead of my NAIL. When I flinched, she said "don't worry!" and kept right on. My cuticles now look terrible and it hurts to apply pressure to most of my fingers. She filed way too close to the nail on several nails so my fingers are actually sore and it's the next day. Only one actually bled, but others have micro tears. When the fingers heal, the nails will generally look fine, but it's ridiculous that it takes all that. Lastly, she messed up my thumb nail but when I asked if it'd turn out OK she said she wasn't done yet and laughed. She's done now, and the thumb is still messed up, indented from where she "fixed" it by pressing down her finger on the nail to remove excess polish. I should've left when they said ombré SNS nails would be hard for them because they "might not last as long." I've been getting that from other salons for years with no problem and I chopped it up to inexperience, but the location was convenient and I've never been hurt at a nail salon before, so I figured the stakes were low. Excellent!!! I am so happy I decided to walk in here today; I love how my nails turned out! I couldn't decide on a color at first, so my manicurist recommended a color-changing gel option. They are light pink but turn lavender at night time/under cold water. I absolutely love them!! Great service, friendly staff, and he did the exact shape and length I wanted. Very impressed with the service and manicure I received. If you're looking for a good nail salon in Aiken, I highly recommend this one. I'll definitely be back in the future. Walked in while waiting on a prescription to be filled. Was seated right away. I'm a massage therapist so my nails have to be kept very short. The gel polish job I got was absolutely terrible! Super sloppy and no clean up. I could have done better on myself! Do not recommend. read more

Don't waste your time or money. Got a basic pedi/mani and was charged $65 which was more than the posted charge online. The polish on my nails did not even last a full week. When I called to tell the girl about the nail polish chipping off, she told me I should have gotten a gel mani. Why didn't she tell me that at the time but then it would have cost me more, I am sure. She did tell me to go back and she would redo them but I didn't want to waste my time to do that. Felt it was poorly done in the first place. Will never go back there or recommend this salon. I came in the first time for a gel manicure and pedicure. The staff was unfriendly and the manicurist rushed through my service leaving nail polish all around my cuticles. 6 days later I came back to get my manicure redone because it was pealing at the edges. TLC means Tender Loving Care but TLC nails should say Terrible Lousy Care. My husband and I were here for the Masters thought we'd get mani's and pedi's. The nail polish was painted on my skin and my nails. Not sure if the old guy is a student or licensed. Either way he needs more training! I went there today (walk in) planning on getting a pedicure only as it is that time of year to wear open-toed shoes and sandals here in SC...I was greeted pleasantly by a male staff member who was working on a client. It did not take very long until I was escorted back by my technician, Tina. The pedicure was awesome. She was very meticulous and careful and did a very good job. I am always hesitant to allow someone to mess around w/ my feet and toes, but she was great. I enjoyed the session so much that I decided to go ahead and get a gel manicure. Again, Tina was detail-oriented, focused, and pleasant the entire time. I am not one who has manis and pedis very often, so I certainly appreciated the professionalism. They had relaxing music playing in the background, and the facility was clean and bright. Plus, there were probably about 4 other clients in there (this was around 9:15 on a SAT). I will definitely return to TLC Nail Spa. I am also a local Aikenite, cannot believe it took me so long to discover TLC, but I am glad that I did. read more

I would not recommend for pedicure. Place looks nice on inside people seem pleasant but service not good. I ordered the spa pedicure which was to come with scrub and warm towel wrap. He used a warm rag to wipe my legs off no wrap of any kind, barely scrub my feet bc they feel the same as when I came in, cut my toe, did not polish my whole nail. I had to ask him to turn on the chair as well. It just was not a great experience. A half job and I paid over 30 dollars for a half job. I will never go back. read more

I travel to Aiken often and have had my nails ( gel fill ) done a couple times. Today I asked for a" pedicure. I have had hundreds if not thousands of pedicures It was nothing special and I had to ask twice for the water to be warmer. I was drying my toes and the woman asked for payment so I gave her my credit card. She came back with my credit card and I noticed the charge was $28 not $23 and she said I gave you SPA pedicure. I was upset to be taken like that and said I asked for just a pedicure. Good way to rip off people and make more $. I will never go back. read more

I would and have recommended this place to all my friends and family. I have used various staff here over the past few years and if I've ever had a problem or needed something corrected, I've pointed it out immediately and the problem was fixed on the spot. I've never gotten any attitude or negativity from any of the staff, ever. Yes, I've liked some staff more than others but I think that was just personality differences and communication issues. I have an appointment here every 2 weeks with Philip and he does a fantastic job. Between answering the phones and greeting customers he makes sure my nails always look amazing, and if I decide in the middle I want something changed, he does it. I think part of that is using the same nail professional when you find one you like, so they can become familiar with what you like. It's sad to think that the whole salon will suffer from bad reviews because of one or two staff. read more
