TK Tailoring did an amazing job of altering my daughter's wedding dress. The bodice was taken in seamlessly and she shortened 4 delicate layers of the skirt section. The train is very long and wide, so she was very creative on adding 3 loops and buttons to make a custom bustle for dancing after the ceremony. She ensured that the 3 additions are reinfored underneath the skirt and shouldn't tear. She also did an excellent job of modifying the bodice of my mother of the bride dress. unfortunately, I am very upset how they treated me and the work that was done to my suit. I actually need to take it somewhere else to get fixed as they didn't take the measurements correctly and now the pants are approximately 2 inches too short. Communication seems to be lacking. sadly, I will not be returning to this business. read more

Have taken a shower curtain to be hemmed and was pleased with the job done. Next I took in a pair of pants to be shortened. When I got home and tried them on they were still way too long and were not shortened enough. When I took them back she tried to blame me by saying I was wearing other shoes. She pinned the pants again. When I picked them up the second time, the back of the pants were shortened but not the front. After paying $27 for both visits I will not be returning. Be sure to try on your pants before paying. read more

I'm not sure why my original review was removed, but suffice to say, I'm still super happy with T.K.'s work on the many different pieces I bring to her for everything from a simple hem, to a complete redesign. Back in 2009, she saved my wedding dress and gave it a beautiful French art nouveau style bustle. In July 2018, she made a very uncomfortable bridesmaid's dress (I could hardly breathe in it and felt like a human cheese log) fit me as though it was custom made for me. She's also helped my husband with his formal service uniform (he's muscular and has to buy jackets extra large to fit his broad shoulders, back and chest, but then there's always too much swimmy fabric around his midesection). T.K. made his jacket James Bond worthy with the way it fit him. Throughout the years I've had T.K. redesign garments for me - turning my mom's cool 1970s dress into a tunic (Now looks like something purchased from Anthropologie or Free People) and transforming wide-legged dress pants into narrow-legged pants with cute ties at the ankle. I've had her change the sleeves on shirts and make cheap pants look couture. When I grow tired of something in my closet, I put it in a bag to take to T.K for a redesign. i am so greatful to have such an amazing seamstress available. I have been so happy with all the adjustments made to my clothes either taken in or out. Recently i ask to have 2 tops and 2 pairs of slacks made from a pair of slacks and 2 tops I have. I purchased the fabric and dropped off the clothes. Well I'm so excited everything turned out perfect even better that perfect everything turned out amazingly. The fit was perfect. I just love to have clothes that have been made by a couturier. Had zipper head replaced on my jacket and they replaced it with a smaller one which did not work like it should. They are really rude and try to twist things around and said she charged me less than she did and wouldn't be bothered to help correct the problem! DO NOT GO THERE -there are many more places to go that are excellent and that guarantee 100% their work. read more

As a bigger male, I am leery about getting tailoring done as they usually look both at me and the job at hand as if it is a "challenge". T.K. is an amazing tailor. I have been taking my clothes to her for many years now and she is the best. I have a hard time finding clothes that fit me properly but I know I can always trust her to get them to fit just right. Completely ruined a shirt of mine and the euro hem done on a pair of my pants was a little off.. to say the least. Not impressed at all.

I have taken a few pairs of pants in here to be tailored. The prices are higher than I have paid at two other tailors, but the quality was acceptable. The last two pairs of pants (one a yoga pant and the other one Calvin Klein jeans) were not done well. The yoga pants are a little bit too long, but better that than too short. The jeans are another story. The jeans were hemmed too long because she didn't listen too what I asked for and she rushed me when she was pinning only the one leg. When I picked them up I told her that they were too long. She told me that they would shrink up when washed (no they don't). As well, the hem wasn't even done straight and nice. I went back in a few days later because it was really bothering me. A different lady was there and she agreed to fix them. She told me to come back in 1/2 hour. When I came back, the original lady was there and she was argumentative and unpleasant towards me. The new hem job was straighter, but now my Calvin Klein jeans (which are sewn everywhere else on the jeans in NAVY BLUE thread) have been hemmed with BLACK thread. Honestly, it looks like a DIY job gone wrong. My Mom could have done a better job (if she lived on the Island). I paid over $26 for the two pairs of pants to be hemmed. I will not be returning here and will go back to driving farther away to a better tailor. read more
