Terrible experience with this Tailor…read more
I dropped off a winter jacket with broken main zipper and pocket to be fixed in the first week of December 2019. I dropped second jacket off a week later. By January 16th 2020, neither of these two main zippers were fixed.
The lady had promised each of them within 3 days!!! As a result, I had to get through several days of a blizzard that hit Victoria with no jackets, and I have no jacket for skiing at Mt. Washington this weekend.
To make matters even worse, the lady behaved terribly, interrupted multiples times when I tried to express my feelings, and had nothing but excuses for her mistakes
Here are the excuses:
1. The first jacket zipper appeared fixed for a few hours, but she felt it was not her fault that it broke again a day later. This despite the fact that she had promised that the zipper did not need to be replaced and it was her choice not to replace it. This caused some of the delay as the first jacket needed to be brought back.
2. She said openly that she missed a Saturday off work because she woke up and thought it was Sunday, her day off, and did not realize that it was 4:00pm. This after knowing that the weather was cold, and I for one at least had no snow jacket to wear. Guess no work got done that day!
3. She did not try to pick up a new main zipper for the black jacket until January 12th, by which time of course Fabricland where she picks up parts was closed due to blizzard. Okay fine, not her fault for the blizzard, but January 12th for jacket dropped off December 6th???? And after she repeatedly promised them in 3 days!!! What explains that??
In the end, maybe there are happy customers. But what takes the cake in my case, is that beside the blatantly terrible delay of 5-6 weeks to repair these two jackets, in winter no less, the jackets were still not done for my ski trip, and I had to go with broken main zippers. Not only that, but NO REFUND for any of this. She acknowledged that the wait was insanely long and apologized for that, but continued to make excuses, interrupt, and offer NO REFUND. For my part, I don't see how I could have been more restrained and polite, and repeatedly had to ask her to stop interrupting me. Wow. Just Wow.
I am still back $36.75 for nothing more than a fixed pocket zipper. To her credit, she offered the other $36.75 back for the second jacket -- but after holding on to it for a month and not doing any work on it.
I will never return to this place. Not a mean lady, but I ask you -- how professional is that?
If you think it might take 6 weeks to fix a blooming zipper, don't promise 3 days!
Good Luck!
