Tom was originally responsive, thorough, and generally appeared to know his stuff. We had him do several jobs for us. The last included changing out a front door, which had a wired Ring doorbell next to the door frame. Once the door had been installed, we realized that power was not going to the Ring. We now have to take off the Ring periodically to charge it up-very inconvenient! When we reached out to Tom, he kept putting us off. It's been almost three months with no resolution. After texting him numerous times, he'd always respond with an excuse as to why he didn't or couldn't make it. Communication is horrible!! We are VERY disappointed in how things ended. He was not willing to come out to fix his mistake. Although he may tell you that he guarantees his workmanship, don't believe him. Definitely won't be giving his name out to others!! read more

I had an unusual circumstance occur while I was away from the residence. The fire department had to forcibly enter the property. Once I was contacted and arrived the fire department helped temporarily secure the front and back exterior doors. However, they were damaged from the forcible entry and not fully secure. Someone must of seen this as an opportunity. Shortly, after the fire incident, the back door and its door jam was entirely kicked in exposing the residence to the elements, threats and more potential damage. I was in need of making the residence more secure as soon as possible. T Helmick Remodeling was referred to me by a neighbor. I contacted the company in Logan, Ohio in the evening and left a voicemail explaining the circumstances and location of the residence. The owner, Tom returned my call that same evening. The damaged residence was in the northern part of Columbus, Ohio. The owner drove to Columbus and met with me the very next morning on a weekend taking into consideration this was an unforeseen circumstance leaving the residence exposed. The owner arrived at the exact time we had discussed. He communicated with me to ensure the project of replacing the doors was completed in a way that best suited my needs for security, budget and method. He worked with me throughout the morning to complete the projects on the front and back door. He was patient, considered my needs and ensured we were on the same expectation and execution path. The price did not change throughout the projects. His experience and craftsmanship allowed for the residence to be secured (both front and back door) within a reasonable time the very next morning with new materials. The work was completed well.
