Jalapeño burger with bacon.
Carly W.

Seeking to try more of the dinning options in Wellington, I chose Avuncular Bob's T-Bar Inn for several meals recently and was pleasantly surprised with how tasty they were! PROs: ++ Their menu features a variety of tasty eats to satisfy any diner! I've had both the Jalapeño Burger and the Breakfast Burrito. While I preferred the burger - both hit the spot! ++ The kitchen knows how to cook one helluva burger. My medium is always perfectly on point. ++ The staff is always super friendly. My to go pick-up have been very pleasant! ++ There's ample parking both on the street outside and in the designated lot to the west of the restaurant. ++ Inside has a homey, small town mid-western diner feeling - and I really dig it. One of these days I'll have time to dine in! CONs: -- With a substitution charge to swap my french fries for onion rings, I'd hope to get a few more than 5 onion rings. Especially, because damn they're good! Can we at least raise that number to 7 - k, thanks! -- When I pay to add bacon to my burger I'd hope that they ensure it is added to my burger. Even though there's a couple cons I've experienced grabbing a meal at Avuncular Bob's, I'd still say it's worthy of returning. #wheninwellington **Pro Tip: Breakfast is served until 12pm and dinner starts at 4pm. You can't order breakfast or lunch online - so if you want to order ahead give 'em a call. Also, for those wondering like me, avuncular refers to the uncle on your mother's side of the family. Now you know!

What a nice surprise for two weary travelers! We were on a cross country journey and stopped in for a break from driving more than anything. Our hostess/waitress couldn't have been more welcoming! Our service was fast and with a smile. She seemed to be the only person waiting tables but gave everyone great attention. Our food arrived just as described on the menu. The place has a "hometown" feel. For the folks who live nearby, we think you are lucky!

Fish sandwich and a green chili slopper!

Food was great! The homemade thousand island is so good! Loved the fish sandwich, and my friend said their green chili shoppers was good! Great service and awesome atmosphere. Great little oasis in the middle of nowhere.

My friend got bahn mi with chicken and buffalo chicken combo and tater eclairs. Her husband got southern chicken and bahn mi chicken combo with cheese curds. We also got the tater eclairs on the side with the brown sugar bacon aioli. Wow. I got the adult lemonade, my friend got the Ricky and her husband got the bourbon drink. The back patio area was nice. They're rated really high -- actually one of the highest-rated restaurants in Fort Collins -- and from a food perspective I don't really understand why. Sliders with sweet potato fries -- fine, nothing extraordinary. Potato éclairs -- . It was really just mashed potatoes with some topping on it. I honestly didn't even finish it. Mountain oysters -- huge letdown. They came out so overcooked they were basically crunchier than potato chips, with the batter crumbling off. I've never had them before, so I didn't get a good representation of how they're supposed to be -- these were just super-cooked batter. On the space: we ended up sitting in three different spots to eat. We went outside by the street first -- super loud, and people were smoking, so we headed back in. The open spot inside was right under the AC and about forty degrees, so we moved to the back area. The back was fine -- covered -- but pretty dirty, with mop buckets and clutter sitting around. The one drink I had was a good value since we were there at happy hour -- some kind of fruity whiskey drink. It was fine, but nothing I'd seek out again. I hate to give such a friendly place a bad review. It'd be a really great spot if you're a college student who wants some cheap bites and a drink -- but honestly it's just bar food, and the ceiling is probably a 4 on a really good day. I wouldn't get excited to head down there, and parking is a bit of a hassle too. Would recommend only if you're after very cheap eats in that area -- check them out for happy hour. But I would not return.

I slept about 4 hours the night before to make it early for sunrise. To say that a few tasty beers were what the doctor ordered would be the understatement of the century! None of this matters, of course, to the good folks at Rocky Cut Brewing Company. This is off the main drag of Estes in an unassuming strip plaza. Humble vibes inside, a simple U-shaped bar top with seating all around, a few smaller tables, a community table, and a large patio with mostly picnic table seating. If you're lucky, snag a stool right along the Big Thompson River! Though, I recommend they fix the wooden placeholders for beers, they're leaning on the wrong side of history, we don't want any full glasses of beer reaching an unnecessary demise! Interference IPA * American IPA * 6.7% * 16oz ($7) From their website: "Climbing the Interference Boulder in Rocky Mountain National Park requires strength and power. This Colorado IPA showcases the power of hops with an intense blend forging citrus aromas with a pine forward finish. Featured ingredients: Cascade, El Dorado, Mosaic, Chinook, & Simcoe hops * Recommended adventure: hiking Black Lake, climbing the Twin Owls, skiing upper Hidden Valley." A perfectly apt description. I would summarize this beer just as they did, focusing on hops, citrus, and pine. Absolutely delicious, a memorable IPA in recent memory. I liked it so much I ordered it again and it tasted just as delicious the second time down! They also had a food truck outside, so safe to assume they do this often. Would love to try more of their beers during my next visit. Rock Cut, I see you!

A little preparation on our end helped ensure everything went smoothly. Since The Regional is a farm-to-table restaurant, many items need to be prepared or prepped in advance, so I was grateful to collect everyone's orders earlier in the day. That gave the kitchen time to prepare and made it easier to get everything cooking once we arrived. We were seated off to the side of the bar in a small private area. The restaurant was busy, but not overwhelmingly so. Once we were settled, our server came over, introduced himself, and took our drink and food orders, making sure to associate each dish with the correct diner. After everything was entered, our drinks and food arrived surprisingly quickly. All of the food and drinks were good, but the service was even better. As my main dish, I ordered the Halibut ceviche which is prepared with avocado, a detail that I overlooked and unfortunately I'm allergic to avocados. When the dish was placed in front of me, I was surprised and quickly signaled Lillian. She was concerned that I may have tasted the dish and offered medical attention (Benadryl) and promptly removed the dish. She encouraged me to order another main dish, but I opted for another lamb merguez meatballs which is served with warm bread. At the end of dinner, I was surprised that the halibut ceviche was taken off my bill - unexpected but appreciative gesture. 5 Stars - Hallmark of customer service at the Regional!

Excellent Food and Service in a Very Busy Estes Park Favorite…read more Executive Summary: A fantastic dinner with fresh, well-executed dishes, strong cocktails, and outstanding service. Easily a 5-star experience and highly recommended. We booked a 6:00 p.m. Sunday reservation through Resy and were seated immediately. The restaurant was very busy, which felt like a good sign. One thing to note: parking is VERY difficult. You may need to park kitty-corner at the grocery store lot and walk across. We started with the Beets & Bibb salad, which was outstanding--fresh, thinly sliced crunchy beets, crisp dried chickpeas for texture, grapes for sweetness, and a honey vinaigrette with just enough acidity to balance everything. The cornbread arrived warm and freshly baked with black garlic butter. It was light rather than dense and very enjoyable. For an entrée, the Carnivore was excellent. Both the elk and petite filet had a beautiful sear and were cooked perfectly to temperature, accompanied by a flavorful reduction and seared broccolini. Our second entrée was the trout with a side petite filet. The fish was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. By the end of dinner we were far too full to try the desserts, although they looked tempting. We also had a couple of cocktails--strong, flavorful pours. Our server, Ian, was friendly, efficient, and attentive throughout the evening. Excellent service despite how busy the restaurant was. Overall, Bird & Jim delivered great food, great drinks, and great service. Highly recommended--5 stars.
