This nice little restaurant is as Americana as it gets. The owner is a lady who, as a young girl, used to sit with her father in his pickup truck & listen to NY Yankees games over the radio. Hence all the NY Yankees memorabilia all over the inside. And done well. All pennants, pictures & other Yankee memorabilia is arranged neatly with a smattering of uplifting messages on boards & such that you might find in one's kitchen or placed throughout homes such as: "When a baby is born so is a grandmother." T A's Place takes on the look of a lodge or cabin both inside & out. Very clean & the staff is wonderful. Ask them questions about T A's & they'll tell you just about everything. A very loyal clientele (locals) that are greeted by name as they walk in the door. And the food: I had the Hungryman Omelette with home fries & toast. I wasn't hungry afterwards. Delicious. Absolutely delicious. This only my second time to Walton & if I find myself here again I'm coming for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Be advised: if you walk in & they don't know you they may stare for a bit but I got over it. It's probably a NY thing but I can promise you nobody was rude. An absolute gem of a find! read more

Great food, simple unassuming and very filling. Homemade bread is just awesome with a bit of butter, almost like cake textured. Coffee wasn't too bad either. We ordered the French toast, corned beef, and omelette and left very satisfied. Good service too though we felt everyone stared at us a bit before we sat down, only brown folk in town I guess. - only reason for the 4 star but really it's not the restaurant just the vibe we got. read more

Stopped here for breakfast. What a great place. Everything was excellent I had two eggs over light hashbrowns and sausage. The hashbrowns were nicely seasoned with onions and peppers back home it's just potatoes nothing else extremely bland. And the patty sausages were the second best sausages I've had in my life! Busy breakfast spot on Sunday morning! Simple breakfast combos with very friendly wait staff. Lots of ems people in here. The coffee is strong and inexpensive.l with free refills. I got eggs, sunny side up with toast that came pre-buttered. There are pancake combos, french toast, regular toast as well as ham, sausage, delicious burnt bacon and omlettes. If you happen to pass through the small town of Walton, NY, you won't find many food options. But TA's is the place to go here if you're hungry. I've eaten at all the restaurants in the town and this one is definitely the winner! Walking into this restaurant you get the vibe that everyone knows each other. If you're an out of towner you will get stared at by the locals, but that just comes with the territory. T A's serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This visit I went with the breakfast. I ordered an omelet with peppers and cheese, which comes with toast and potatoes all for $7.50. Can't get that price on Long Island. The omelet was huge and filled with cheese. The potatoes definitely could have been cooked a little longer, but the coffee was pretty good and free refills are always a plus. The staple here are definitely their curly fries. My first visit to TA's Place was for breakfast . I had a hearty breakfast special... 2 scrambled eggs, thick sliced bacon, hash browns and homemade toasted bread! The servers were friendly and attentive, my cup of coffee was bottomless! We had 2 home style cooked breakfasts for less than $20...we didn't feel rushed to get out AND the restrooms were meticulous! It's going down hill, unfortunately. Breakfast foods are ok, and I think you can get them anytime, but everything else is mostly cafeteria quality - especially the sides. They even come in cafeteria ramekins. While it is casual, and that's fine, this place is downright dingy, tired, and again, getting worse lately. The center runner goes right into the dining room and it's usually filthy and the mess extends on to the linoleum tiles. Duct tape on the torn up booth seats, wood paneling, etc. It could really use a make over. Like 20 years ago. Most of the decor is Grandma's basement meets Yankees. Yankees theme could be cute and unique, but the execution is bad among the tired and dingy rest of the place. Also saw weird political stuff hanging in the back, which is a turnoff. All the condiments are stored in single-serve packs in a big ugly arrangement of plastic buckets on a cart, right by the pick up window. This is the only (open) diner-type place in town right now, but it feels more like you are eating in the banquet room of the fire hall. Service is usually quick and friendly. Good for cheap-o breakfast or BLT, grilled cheese on the quick..I wouldn't go much beyond that. read more

Fast, friendly and inexpensive. Soups are like stews. Great burgers. Specials. We go there about once a week for breakfast or lunch. It is a meeting point for us before bike rides. I've been to this place twice. Back in May, we were very impressed with the food portions, prices, and service. As of last month, not so much. Food was served cold, portions not so great, and the atmosphere was loud and a bit chaotic. I hope they get their act together soon. The single star only reflects the service, which, for my girlfriend and I, was non-existent. We were completely ignored by the several waitresses on duty for a Sunday brunch, and I mean completely. When we entered the diner, we were the only ones waiting for a table but could see that the staff was very busy -- just one table was open. We patiently waited...for 10 minutes. At this point, and after trying to get the wait staff's attention, a few friendly diners advised us to take a seat at one of a couple uncleared tables, and that eventually someone would clear it for us. We did just that, but this move did not catch the notice of any of the servers either. Two parties who arrived after us had their tables promptly cleared and received menus. After another five minutes of this treatment, we got up and left. So after 15 minutes we weren't greeted, seated or acknowledged. I love great diners, and I don't mind gruff service, but in order to enjoy or tolerate both, the least you can do is point a customer to a table and throw a menu or two their way. I've heard this is a good diner and I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to try it, but this kind of obliviousness to patrons is inexcusable. The one positive from this experience - we went across the road to Feather & Stone, were seated immediately, and within 20 minutes we were eating a delicious breakfast. read more
