Placed a call to Lodi Shell not expecting an answer but was incredibly surprised by the positive tone and urgency that Bryan responded. He was incredibly quick, took less than 20 minutes just as he provided as an ETA. He quickly used the battery pack to start car. After hearing we had over 100 miles to our next destination, he said he would be hesitant to drive that far due to possible damage to alternator. He said he would be happy to check if they had the correct battery. We followed him back to the shop in Lodi, he quickly found the correct battery and changed 100 times faster than I could have done it. Not only was Bryan an incredibly nice guy, he also talked about how he really liked working for the owner (don't hear that much nowadays) and the generous support the owner provided to the community. 100% recommend Lodi Shell! I had my car towed there on Monday to have a fuel issue addressed. It went well at first. I got…read more text saying my vehicle hadn't been looked at yet since a previous repair was taking longer. Then nothing until I get an emailed invoice that was not clear to me. I called to ask questions and even offered feedback about the info in the invoice. Was told that in his 15 years of running a shop, no one had every said they weren't clear. Well, ok then. I ok'd the work. Then I get a call the next day that in the process of replacing the fuel sensor, he cracked the fuel line. This was Friday afternoon around 2pm. They would quote it for me on Monday. I asked why it couldn't be quoted that day since it had already been there all week. They had previous plans. Ok. Monday comes, they quote was over $1000 for the fuel line and labor. My family are all mechanics but they live in Montana, a little too far to drive. Things happen when working on cars. BUT....they all said they would not charge labor and give the part to the customer at cost. If that didn't make them happy, they would not charge. I wasn't expecting it to be fixed for free but I also was not at fault that the fuel line was damaged. I told him I would just come get it. He asked if I realized it didn't run...smh. I had my car towed back home and had it fixed somewhere else for half that price. I decided to give a new shop a chance and keep it local. My mistake.

He went above and beyond calling me at 10am telling me, he would possibly have it fixed that day but I should get one more day. 7pm rolls around and my truck is fixed and I'm back on my way home. We couldn't find anyone willing to work on a Sunday, until I checked Yelp and called Taylor Automotive... Thankfully, the person we spoke to said that they would come to our hotel at 8am and check out the vehicle. It's 10:30. No one has called, and none of our messages have been returned. We're now penny pinching for another night stay, and I'm missing work today. If you can't help, or something came up, we at least deserve a phone call.

Absolute disappointment …read more I trusted this shop based on past experiences because they used to be helpful. We are not just returning customers. We have used them several times over the years and have referred many people to them. I sent my child there for a second opinion after he was sandwiched in an accident, and needed a second opinion because the first shop couldn't find parts. I made an appt last week and explained the situation and that this was a second opinion and we needed also help finding parts. Steve told us to come back today, so we did. My son went in, Steve completely forgot the purpose of the visit, started questioning my son, then my son told me "the manager guy is angry and calling you" I said ok. Steve calls me, I re explain the situation, he says "your son says he doesn't plan to fix the car" (all while having a rude tone with me). I let him know that obviously we will be fixing it-- that's why we are bringing it to the body shop, to which "Steve" replied, "I'm not doing an inspection for free." I calmly asked (in my raspy voice because I'm sick), "How much would you like me to pay for the inspection?" He immediately snapped, "I can sense a tone in your voice so I'm not doing the inspection because of your attitude," and proceeded to yell at me (with my son standing in front of him) so I hung up. I am currently recovering from pneumonia, so no, I don't have a chipper, lady-like voice right now. The fact that he chose to yell at me in front of my child over "tone" is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. To be treated this way as a loyal, repeat customer who has supported and referred business to this shop is beyond disrespectful. It is also worth noting that the only person who replies to negative reviews appears to be the very individual I am describing here, which makes this experience even more concerning. I will not be returning. If you value being spoken to with basic respect, I suggest you take your business elsewhere. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB.. And all the recommendations I made for them with my community, I'm retracting. Never again.
