We did have a few issues with the hardscape however; the decking project was a disaster. We hired them to replace our 2 deck boards with composite along with building steps onto a deck that did not have stairs. Cheap material, laborer was not familiar with the installation of the composite material. When quoted the job we asked for the whole deck to be composite. We got the deck boards composite, railings were wood. In the end there was always an excuse of some form of "miscommunication". Most of the errors were pointed out and they tried to fix their mistakes however; in the end we still did not get the deck skirts for the steps to cover the noticeable moon shapes on the composite steps. If you are willing to work with them I would suggest writing up your own contract with noting exactly what you want. It's obvious what we wanted was not noted.

One of the things we noticed about John is that when arranging the initial consultation, he expressed that he'd like to meet both me and my wife. That's because he genuinely wants to get to know you both and get a read on your vision together. He spent the whole consultation listening to us, and quietly problem solving, he didn't use the time to try to prove himself or sell to us. He uses the consultation to get a read on exactly what it is you want. Then he'll gently makes suggestions and create something that fits your needs. He knows what he's talking about and is full of great advice. Once he had drawn up the numbers, he also wanted to come back to see us in person to present his quote - so he's willing to take a chunk of time out of his day to make sure he delivers and presents his ideas directly. I've never come across a contractor who does that. Again, it's the little touches that go a long way. The final project was beyond our expectations. His team were on time and completed the job when they said they would. John was on hand upon completion to do a walkthrough and ensure we were 100% happy. The back yard is now a beautiful place to enjoy and we just love it every time we see it.

The siding guys were finishing up when I paid the owner and asked that they caulk around some of the siding with big gaps. He said "no problem"... took the money and his guys were gone before he was out of our culdesac. No caulking. I also had informed him that I was having more work done and needed access to the back yard (tree removal and privacy fence). It took nearly a week for me to get them to take their pallet of unused materials from blocking the way to the back yard, and just hours before the tree guys were scheduled to show up. So say the least, stainless steel appliances were left unclean. The mirrors in every room weren't clean properly, the garbage was not picked up in every room, the dining room table was not clean properly, there was food particles and dust left behind, the beds were not going to get fixed unless told to do so. In their deep cleaning description they stated that the inside and out of the dishwasher and refrigerator would be clean, and that the doorknobs and blinds throughout the house would be cleaned but that was not done. After we went through the house, they did come back and fixed what I just mentioned. After they left my home, I was doing my makeup to leave the house and my husband side of the sink counter in the master bedroom had hair.
