I next just got a regular lychee martini, which was much less sweet & a perfect drink #2 - we started with the pork dumplings which had such a complex sauce. it looked like a basic chili oil but there was a tangy vinegar and a sweet aftertaste that balanced out the numbing spice. the dough was so chewy & thick, I loved. - the cold eggplant was very garlic forward & naturally ofc coated in spice. it's a large serving of the same vegetable but we ate every piece - we split the tofu & fish entree. this was insane, the same base and consistency as mapo tofu. incredibly rich and flavorful with light large chunks of silken tofu & battered fried soft fish. the fish absorbed so much of the sauce, which honestly I was eating by the spoonful.

The three pepper fried tofu was also delicious, I enjoyed the variety of texture in this dish and how well seasoned it is. Amazingly they refused to do anything, $60order, nothing, wouldn't move it to Manhattan wouldn't give a refund or even a discount, not even an apology. This has never happened,,,,what is customer worth in a 10 year period, what is their recommendation worth. I can honestly say that the manager who decided to F us should be fired immediately. He has cost their new outpost well over a thousand dollars in the next few years, and of course I will tell all my neighbors and anyone else. In a town of so many good or even great restaurants,,,,don't waste your time. Customer service is everything, and they don't believe in that basic truth. Avoid them, they do not deserve your business, you can get Chinese food everywhere and get treated with a lot more friendliness and respect. Never been treated like that before,,,,unbelievable.

We wanted to go to a dumpling place in Chinatown, but we're running late and decided to cancel. This place looked good while we were walking around...and I'm so glad we were late because it was absolutely excellent We ordered: Crab soup buns: 7/10 standard Spicy cumin lamb: 100/10 may have been the best I ever had in my life????!! Curiously tasty chicken: 9/10 we didn't realize this was also cumin. It was super tender and juicy, but the flavor was too similar to the cumin lamb. So if you're choosing between both, go for the lamb As a table of 2 this was way more than enough food with leftovers. Perfect place to get shareable with friends for a quick bite without any reservations even on a weekend, with the flexibility of a communal table too.

The service was a little funny to pin down but still top tier. Everyone was willing to help. I loved the Wong Kar-Wai inspired cocktails, "2046" and "Fallen Angels". So cute! But it this heat and possible spice, I really just wanted a chill, Sapporo to cool off. And they sell it by the pitcher. Sign me up. We did the cold noodles. the shrimp dumplings, the scallion pancakes, the veggie fried rice and the snow pea shoots. Everything was perfection. I enjoyed every bite. We could not get enough. My boyfriend was especially blown by the snow pea shoots. I wanted more noodles. I did not feel heavy after all the fool. It did not taste greasy. I can not wait to go back. I had the best experience.

The food is why we are all here and this place did not miss! We sat at the bar because we didn't have a reservation and it was a Sunday night. We were told the specials for the night with great detail, we snagged one of the last soup dumplings and they are incredible. The only other place I've had soup dumplings as good is in flushing - that's high praise from this queens girl. Next up we ordered the scallion pancakes - which ruined all other scallion pancakes for me. They were ultra crispy and flaky. The dipping sauce was deeply flavorful and the portion was perfect. We also ordered the chicken wantons that came in a chili crisp oil and peanut sauce, delicious. The pork noodles were the secret star because the description was pretty straight forward. But my partner is a chef and insisted we get them. They were some of the best noodles I've ever had. Definitely made in house and they were coated in a flavorful sauce. The crispy garlic chicken was so good that I had to take it to go because we were stuffed, still amazing the next day. The bartender with the cool tattoos that gave me extra coconut candies, you are truly amazing and really made us feel well taken care of. Can't wait to come back and try mo

I ordered the build-your-own malatang, which was pretty good. I'm used to preset options when it comes to malatang, so it was a new experience to pick out all the ingredients myself, but I liked having that flexibility. My friend ordered Combo H, which came with long-cooked pork belly over rice and lemon tea. The lemon tea was good and refreshing, but we were hoping the pork belly would be more tender. We expected it to be the kind that just falls apart when you bite into it, but it wasn't quite there. That said, the flavor was still good, and we enjoyed it. Overall, it was a solid experience, with friendly staff, quick seating, and tasty food. I'd come back, especially to try different malatang combinations!

Food was decent and there are a lot of options on the menu. Would I come here again? Maybe to try their rice dishes after reading other reviews, but I wouldn't come back for the tomato based hot pot. Ambiance 3/5: A little chaotic. A lot of kids (middle or high schoolers) probably because of the cheaper prices and according to other reviews a discount with student ID. Another large party came in and started moving tables around and people that appeared to be regulars seated themselves. Service 4/5: We were seated immediately at a table for 2 on a Saturday afternoon. Food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. It became busier towards the end of our lunch and it was hard flagging someone to bring us a check. Food 4/5: Decent. Main selling point is its affordability. I regret not looking at other reviews before coming here as people say their rice dishes are pretty good. We got their pre-made tomato hot pot soup base, GF got the original soup base, and some stir fried potatoes. - Tomato hot pot 3/5: I did like this at first. Not sure if the saltiness of our appetizer overpowered the flavors of the soup but it started to taste too sweet (kind of like ketchup?). Slightly disappointed at that. I tried the original soup base and like it more so probably pick another base if you come here. No complaints about the ingredients you get to add though, those were delicious. I chose Udon, fatty beef, fish filet, honeycomb tripe, and enoki mushrooms. - Stir fried potatoes 4/5: They look like fries but they're not crispy. Very flavorful though; salty and spicy. I can see the appeal and would be great as a separate snack but it made my noodle soup taste bland in comparison...
