Amazing handyman! John finished my bathroom renovation project that I had begun myself, especially…read morethe plumbing and electrical that I wasn't comfortable doing. He came on time and spent the whole day working. I don't even think he stopped for food! The most valuable part of the experience is he said I could watch him work because I wanted to learn how to do it myself in the future. He explained all the different products and tools that he used. This probably took him longer to do the job to explain everything to me, but he didn't seem to mind. It was getting late in the day, so I offered to clean up the work space afterwards but he insisted that he clean up after himself after every job. He also called me a few days later to make sure everything is working well! For all of that, he charges a very good rate. John doesn't have a fancy website like other handyman services and gets most jobs through word of mouth - he's the best!

We are in the middle of a number of projects that require reliable scheduling and completion of…read moreeach project. Joe showed up to give an estimate and stated it would require 2 men and would take about 3 hours to complete the job of installing an attic ladder. He was ready to do the job immediately. Unfortunately, we were not able to schedule the work for that day, but emphasized we were anxious to get it done. He did not return phone calls or texts over the next week attempting to schedule the work. When he called and was again ready to take the job, our scheduling allowed us to hire him. He showed up on time, alone. He said that his helper would not be here for a few hours and asked that we help with the job. Our goal was to complete this install and we agreed to whatever it would take to accomplish that objective. The job has been completed and the following is what we have learned from our experience with Reliable Handyman Services, Inc. 1. Joe does not return calls in a timely manner. 2. Joe does not give accurate, reliable estimates. 3. Joe does not "work clean". He did not use a tarp or make any effort to protect our carpet during the work. Sawdust and debris from drilling remain embedded in our hallway carpet. Possibly the most insulting aspect of this hire is what we discovered after Joe had gone. We hired Joe to provide and install a 350lb attic ladder - he installed a cheaper 250lb ladder. We had a 2x6 board in the attic that was our only way to walk safely across the attic. Joe decided on his own to cut up this board and use it in the project. He did not seek permission nor did he inform anyone of his desire to take and use our property. He appears to believe we would simply not notice. This becomes seriously offensive when you realize that Joe included a charge of $20 for unspecified materials. We will definitely NOT hire Reliable Handyman Services, Inc. again and cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone else.

This was our first project with Lee and Finest Fix…read more I sent out a quote request via Yelp Projects and Lee got back to me on the same day with their rate of $95/hr + materials. I inquired on how long the job would take based on pictures I sent over, and he replied "an hour max, and it will probably be a couple screws and glue" Communication was OK overall. Lee contacted me on a Monday and asked for the address, email and phone number and asked about my availability for the remainder of the week. I didn't receive a response to my reply, so I had to follow up the next day. We were able to get the job scheduled for the same Friday and his team came to complete the project utilizing a lockbox we provided. I didn't receive any updates during the job, which probably would have helped the surprise of the invoice I later received that was $232.35 when I was expecting something closer to $100 based on our first conversation. Lee did promptly reply and let me know that they thought they would hit a stud but since there was nothing, the job was more complicated as they had to create the support. Overall, still a solid experience and I would still consider using Lee and Finest Fix in the future.
