    I had the owner, Chuck, out for an estimate before hiring them for insulating my home for sound…read more At first, everything was great. He accommodated me by splitting the job into two parts, allowing us to do some electrical while the walls were opened up. When the electrical work was finished, I called him to come back to finish the job--with more than ample notice to schedule the rest of the work (over 3 weeks). When he did finally come back, a "3-4 day job" became 4 weeks. Also, not only did his crew smoke in my home, use my tools without permission and damage my property, but the reasons for the delays in finishing the job were ridiculous. "Your walls are too high" and "You already have insulation in your walls," etc. He also, "as a favor," patched my drywall (not in the contract) so poorly, that it took over 12 hours for an actual drywaller to fix the damage his team did...not including cleaning up all the compound they spilled on the floor. They left the job leaving my home unlocked, and frequently showed up over an hour late or left early, despite promising more than once that they'd "finish the job tonight". The owner also made no secret that he was prioritizing other jobs above mine, meaning his crew was simply unavailable to do the work. And in one location in my home, the most important for noise intrusion, I pointed out several empty wall cavities three times. They left the job without filling them at all. After I discovered the damage and paid to repair the "favor" of his crew's drywall work, I asked for a partial refund. I got no reply other than Chuck's accusation that my request was unethical. When I enumerated the cost of the damages, I was given a litany of reasons he had lost money on the job and reasons why, despite the problems, he did an excellent job--far better than his competitors might have done. Rather than an apology for any of the epic delays, poor / incomplete work, or damage to my home, I am apparently expected to be grateful.
