My dog, Cooper, and I started training with Tim just over 6 months ago. He was a 2 year old, highly reactive and poorly behaved German Pinscher that I didn't seem to know how to control. I was not able to take him anywhere let alone have people come over to the house and not get mauled by a 30 pound, jumping freak. I was frustrated with this dog. I had tried a few other resources of training but nothing seemed to work...... because nobody but Tim actually showed me the training is all about ME and my relationship with Cooper. I am the reason he doesn't behave. I am the reason he's an anxious, nervous mess. After reading a book he recommended, I now know Cooper was just mirroring my own behavior, it was high time to get that under control. Training began with one on one lessons at my home and then at public parks and once a week private lessons with just Cooper and Tim. Then, I began the weekly group lessons with other of Tim's clients and that has been the greatest experience ever for both of us. Training isn't just a few lessons. Everyday they are learning something from us and everyday is an opportunity to build the relationship to be just that much stronger. The weekly classes we attend are well worth the time and investment. On top of all that, Tim provided the training tools necessary with leads, place cots and other tools that have become necessity in our every day lives. Tim has taught me Cooper isn't just a dog. He's a being that craves learning and is looking to me for an education. We also have structured a menu plan for Cooper's best health and nutrition. I was already doing pretty well but Tim's knowledge and certifications in dog nutrition have done the right amount of tweaking in how I feed not only Cooper, but the other dogs in my household. I have my best pal with me everywhere and nothing but comments from people how well behaved he is. I'm proud of having him with me and everyday we work on our skills as a teammates. We encountered Tim while out with our new puppy. My son fell and dropped our puppy's leash. We were met with an intense and frightening over reaction from a grown, fragile man. Incredibly foul language that sent my 10 year old running. I have never experienced such a disturbing encounter. I spoke to Tim over text for about 2 hours. At first he was was very nice and helpful. After I told him about one of my pups he became rude and very disrespectful to me. He finally said he couldn't he couldn't help me and I needed to find another trainer. I'm sure they had other trainers at this place that were compliant of training my puppy. I hired Tim, (he doesn't guarantee his services) had 2 dogs Stella (cocker spaniel) and Dixie (Staffie). Goal to live harmoniously, Dixie had attacked Stella a handful of times in the 18 months I had her. He asked me what I wanted: for both dogs to live harmoniously together with no kennels. His 1st assessment: Stella had bad energy. What am I supposed to do with that? Needless to say Stella got next to nothing by way of anything from Tim. I stopped talking, treats, petting, playing, toys. All was "later", well later never came. After 5 weeks of him coming to my house, he was done. I could now pay extra for Dixie to go to his house 2x/week for socializing BUT never was the original request of harmoniously living together worked on or mentioned again. Any setback with Dixie was all me, my fault. I give to a homeless shelter so obviously I was abused. He analyzed me everytime I saw him. My house was wrong. Tim never took any responsibility for failing Stella and the ultimate goal. In September Dixie attacked Stella one last time and now Stella is in a box. I never got Stella kisses, loves or anything Tim took away and never reincorporated. Don't waste money getting belittled. He helped our 9-month old Golden Retriever go from "out of control" and basically feral dog, to a calm, well-behaved, obedient dog who listens and obeys. Our dog is now safe to be around my husband (who has Parkinson's Disease) without jumping up on him and knocking him down. Our dog is calm, happy, obedient, and well-behaved. 2 months ago we reached out to Tim regarding our dog reactive dog with severe separation anxiety. We had tried multiple trainers all of whom seemed to give out bandaid fixes rather than address the root of the issue. Tim had started sending us training videos, links to tools, and coaching us on the phone before we even agreed to work with him/sent him money. Tim truly cares for the well-being of the dog, and addressing the root of the issue (anxiety and low confidence in our case) to allow the dog to have a fulfilled life. During our training journey with Tim, he became a life coach as much as he was a dog trainer- we learned SO much. Our training became our priority over a few months, and by the end of our sessions with Tim, our dog who previously tried to attack other dogs could be in the same room with another dog without a care in the world. I rescued a dog from the jungle in Guam while working on a project there. I fell in love with her and brought her back stateside with me. Dot and I worked really hard on her basic obedience, fears, anxiety, and leash reactivity, it was out of control and unmanageable. We overcame a lot of things together with the exception of her leash reactivity toward dogs and her overall anxiety level. If I could give zero stars I would, and this might be long. Tim (owner) was referred to us from someone we know to help us with an issue we were having with two of our dogs. We have 4 dogs and two of them were fighting. Worried we reached out after hearing he specialized in this sort of thing. Tim showed up for the consultation and said things that made sense and seemed like he would be able to help. He suggested that we do his 8 week course(the most expensive one). After he left my girlfriend told me he didn't collect payment waiting to hear what we decided on the class. I shot him a text with some questions I had thought of regarding him standing by his teachings and inquired if there was a military discount by chance because the classes were not cheap. A harmless question you would think...but apparently it gave him a bad "vibe". He took days to respond to me which in that time he contacted my girlfriend and collected payment for the consultation and then immediately told her that he was not a good fit to help us anymore. My girlfriend inquired on why all of a sudden he had a change of heart because he seemed so sure during the consultation that he could help us. He said it was because I had asked him to stand by his product(teachings) and if there were any discounts. If you are giving someone thousands of dollars to fix a problem you expect the problem to be solved after 2 months. It is completely within reason to ask about what recourse we have as a customer if the problem does not get resolved. Save yourself the money and headache and use someone else. Don't fall into the trap we did. read more
