I recently moved to the area and was searching for a salon that specializes in 4C natural hair, and this salon came up. I decided to give them a try and I'm so glad I did! I booked the Ultimate Scalp Treatment with no style since I had just taken down my twists, and I was scheduled with Narin. From the beginning, she was so kind and welcoming. She did a quick consultation, went over pricing, explained how long the appointment would take, and made sure I knew what to expect. The wash and scalp treatment were extremely thorough, and she explained each step as she went. She also did a trim and was not "scissor happy" at all (she only removed what we agreed on), which I really appreciated because I wanted to get rid of my dead ends while keeping as much length as possible. She showed me the results afterward and made sure I was happy before finishing. Narin was amazing, and I'll definitely be back! She currently only offers silk presses, but she recommended another stylist for two-strand twists, which I'll be trying next. I had a really great experience with one of the new stylists, LaNay. I'm always very nervous about getting my hair done because I usually only get a blow out maybe twice a year and need a good trim. LaNay really took care of me and was great conversation. Time flew by and I really liked the results of my silk press. 2 weeks now and I've ran twice and still have a cute pressed out pony tail lol I would definitely return for LaNay! First impressions are key for any new client seeking services from a new stylist and/or salon. I recently booked an appointment with the owner, Karen. I called to inquire more about the service I booked, prior to my appointment. Terrible first impression and to my suprise, it was the owner! No stylist, especially a salon owner, should assume a new client knows their services/product. If anything, you should be more than willing to provide any information requested to help that client feel comfortable and at ease prior to the appointment. I requested my appointment be cancelled due to the unpleasant vibe I recieved from Karen, during this phone call. I then recieved a nasty call back from her. She stated my refund was processed. I asked, "Is this how you treat all new clients?". She then tried to flip the script in response to my question and I quote responded, "You're not about to check me". This is one of my favorite places. The staff is super professional. The decor is stylish as well as functional. The salon makes it easy to book an appointment online and the stylists stay very close to the one hour time frame for client services. The desk personnel are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. My only complaint is that the stylists (the ones I've had) don't rinse the hair very thoroughly after shampooing, but that is just an idiosyncratic thing fir me. It is a great salon. read more

These people are trying to fool you. It's hard enough to find a place that knows my hair type. I waited more than 10 minutes for my stylist to greet me. When she started, she explained that we'd wash, dry, press, and trim. She didn't add that I'd be left under a hair dryer for an hour after all that. Now that there is a viral pandemic, they are revealing how little they truly care for others. I was totally blown away at how they try to say they are keeping up with the press conferences when those conferences clearly elaborate on the severity of this pandemic. The salon even says there can be no symptoms then lists a precaution as refusing service to people with cold and flu symptoms. They know the fitness centers are closed but somehow think doing hair is not high risk? This is an airborne illness, and doing hair puts you in incredibly close contact. I hope people will be smart and mindful of their loved ones and the people they pass by by refusing to receive service at this salon while our state is nearly totally locked down. I don't think they have the best hair care practices- sometimes the stylists are a bit rough with natural hair, but if you generally take good care of your hair, it shouldn't be a problem. I'm usually in and out in 2 to 2.5 hours getting a wash, condition, silk press and trim and usually pay around $70. read more

Beautiful salon. My stylist did a great job styling my hair. My hair stayed straight for a week until I went back to New York - humidity on the East Coast is brutal. A couple of reasons I give 3 stars: Let me preface this by saying I have been natural for 8 years, and I have hair down to my shoulders right now (after many mini/big chops over the years). I know my own hair better than anyone and my hair care routine is very simple. 1. My stylist wanted to trim 1+ inches off my hair based on how the entire length of my hair was laying on white piece of paper - anywhere you see white spaces she was going to cut. My last hair cut was done in layers (freehand btw), so the last trim I had from my BK stylist was in March (Exhibit A) and it was trimmed in accordance to the shape. I declined the CUT, but agreed to a trim (Exhibit B). I'm not hung up on length, but I like the way my BK stylist cuts my hair and I want to retain the shape she created and maintains. No hard feelings. 2. As I mentioned above there is a huge difference in temp and humidity between East Coast and Midwest. I am also outside more in New York than I am in the Midwest because I don't drive. With that said, the stylist made a comment about my hair being dry. I attribute that to the products (synthetic products don't work well in my hair) and again being in an air conditioned and dry space. In the end, my hair did feel dry and also felt like it had product residue due to the use of several products before and after the flatiron. Overall, I was satisfied with the results. I started going to Synergi Salon in October 2014. I decided to go to this salon because I wanted to get to know my hair better and get it in the best shape possible. When the shampoo assistant washed my hair, she was very complimentary stating how thick my hair was, how nice the color was and how nice the curl pattern was. Once I arrived to Karen Gary's chair, she blew my hair dry and told me that my hair was thick, but it could be thicker... That if I used her product, I would grow a whole new head of thick healthy hair. I was a little surprised because I hated combing through my hair because it was very thick. I just didn't like the texture due to the color. Karen cut/trimmed my hair and told me to shampoo my hair daily & put no moisture on it ... because I workout and come back in 2 month for another trim. I purchased the products & complied with her treatment plan. Once using the products I noticed lots of hair in the shower. When I went back to Karen, she said that was good as I was loosing the old hair and growing a new head. I continued the treatment plan for another 2 months and continued to aggressively loose hair. When I went back in for my next appointment, my front hairline was bald and my hair was see thru... Karen again said this was okay, as this is past of the process of growing new hair. Within the next 2 months, I decided that if I have to shed it all to grow a new head of hair, I may as well shave my head...which is what I did. I continued to shampoo my hair daily and add no moisture as recommended by Karen. About 1 month in, I noticed patches in my scalp and hair on my shoulders. I was bald and still loosing my hair. My hair was healthy before I started using Synergi's products. Unfortunately, I was naive and believed in one woman's vision of hair care as it is NOT a one size fits all. And Karen Gary needs to take responsibility for that! My hair is back on track and flourishing, fully energized and full of moisture. HONEST REVIEW, view my hair damage after going to senergi So it was my first time at this salon ever AND also my last. Yes the workers were nice and gave somewhat good service but the overall technique of straighten the hair was NOT GOOD. I asked for my hair to get straighten (my "goal" when they asked me was to have HEALTHY long hair) and I have not had my hair straighten in over a year so it was pretty healthy before going in. 1) my stylists was not friendly when it came to detangling my hair while washing,which was not even tangled at all 2) I sat in my chair with NO TOWEL and she left for like 5 min without telling me as she told me to sit up 3) BEARLY any heat protectant was used on my hair. My hair was straight and looked good but when I washed it to go back to my natural curl look I HAD SO MUCH HEAT DAMAGE. I always book randomly when I see my kinks out of control. Therefore I rarely have the same person style my hair consistently. To my advantage all of stylist are truly talented and care about maintaining a healthy head of hair. The products used in the salon give my curls definition and hold. I purchased these products and its my greatest hope that I can learn to twist my own hair eventually which the salon encourages and offers workshops at a fee for individuals to learn how to style their own hair.I hope to attend one of these workshops eventually. A few great things about this salon:Synergi created and uses a hair product line made by the owner Karen Coleman.Web based booking and frequent social media updates. Synergi also offers uses a loyalty app called Flok. A free style is offered after 10 check-ins,as well as updates for $35 styles and birthday surprises. The styling process is unquie. It begins with a clarify shampoo, a regualr shampoo then a condtion. Hair is then blown straight and sometimes flat irond with products,then molded and then the desired hair style is started. This process may send some Naturals running away because of the heat. But heat is ok somedays. Heat is like a cheeseburger only good on somedays and small doses. On time and professional. I have gone to this salon several times and my appointments have always started on time. Some stylists are friendly than others but no major complaints. I would recommend this salon for natural updos, finger curls, flat twists, etc. I personally would not recommend the salon for blowouts. I'm trying to figure out what happened from the time I started going there in July 2011 to the day in July 2012 I decided that the salon had gone seriously downhill. I think perhaps the popularity of the place has overwhelmed the management and staff. When first started going there, I drank the Kool-Aid. The stylists are very knowledgable about black hair and I went to one of the styling workshops, which was very rah-rah. I like the hair products when they are actually available, but they seem to have supply problems. For example, I think in the year I went there, I was able to buy the recommended hair glaze once. And even then I pre-paid for it and had to wait on a list for it to come in about three weeks later. I've not seen it stocked since. The same goes for the hair mousse, which it turns out is likely just repackaged Design Essentials brand in a Synergi bottle. I do love the shampoo and conditioner, though. As for the stylists, I'm not going to name names because it seems like a general problem. Okay, let's get real: for natural hair, they're really not doing anything high-tech. I did see some cute styles walk out of there, but for what I had done (shampoo, trim, twists), nothing special. For that reason, I changed stylists at one point to see someone who was available for my schedule. And guess what? My initial stylist totally BLANKED me when I came in after that. I was, like, seriously? This ain't some NYC salon. But, then, when I came in to buy product, the second stylist blanked me as well. I'm willing to go with they just didn't hear me say hello, but whatever. The final straw of me not coming back was, like Rachael, waiting 45 minutes for an appointment, getting shunted off to a junior stylist because they'd overbooked the senior stylist, and it taking me 2.5 hours instead of the usual one to get out of there. Okay, I lied: the final final straw was that (and this may have changed) when I first started going there, you could only make an appointment online and only pay with a credit or debit card. TWICE after using my card there, weird unauthorized charges popped up and I had to get new cards. I have no proof that this was Synergi's faulty, but if you check their internet security info in the address bar, the site's not verified nor encrypted meaning sending your credit card info via their site leaves your precious info ass out in the world for fraudsters and identity thieves. The penultimate time I went, I noticed a woman paying cash, so I did the same the last time I bought product. If, after all this advise, you still decide to go, use a prepaid card with the exact amount of your services on it so you don't get jacked. read more

I didn't have as great of an experience as the other ladies have described. 1. The salon was difficult for me to find since I'm not from the area. It's actually named differently on the outside of the building. 2. My appointment was scheduled from 10-11am. I didn't get in the chair until 10:45am and I was there until 2:15pm. 3. There were at least 5 women whose appointments were after mine that were in/out before me. 4. The salon seemed very unprofessional and understaffed. I was treated as if I was just another head of hair that needed to be done than someone my stylist truly wanted to help. 5. It was a disappointing experience because I expected so much based on the information/videos on the website. The Positive: Whenever my stylist did attend to me during my 3.5 hour visit, I did like the product that was being used on my hair. It did feel manageable although it wasn't styled to my liking. So I definitely recommend the product. Lastly, because my experience was very horrible and I was walking out, my stylist did apologize and take $10 off my total and spent the last 15 minutes I had left to offer on just my hair. Stylist: Chrishelle, sweet, professional and she did a great job on her hair! Rudely spoken to by another stylist with a contradictory statement than that of the stylist providing tbe service. Instead of speaking to the new customer maybe address the person performing the service to address your concerns? The stylist was put on the spot and placed in an awkward position and I am left with a less than positive first impression. Worst service of my life! Especially given that they specialize in natural black hair. I was STUNNED at the outcome. I went in for a shampoo, blow dry and flat iron. When I Say I would have done a much better job myself I am not lying. The stylist kept talking about the product and compliment my curl pattern. The one hour appointment ended up being two hours! I have been here 3 or 4 times so I can write this review with confidence. I also can only talk about my experience with one hairstylist , Royce, because that is who I would see. Pros- Online scheduling is great! - Hair always looked great! - Stylist fun to chat with. Cons- The front desk was always unfriendly and acting like you are inconveniencing them - Every time I got my hair done I lost hair, I remember seeing her use this tiny comb and literally rip through my hair! - THE WAIT!! Have visited here about 3 Times. The second time the the stylist did not detangle my hair before washing, needless to say it was a mess to the point where Karen had to come take over. The last time was the straw that broke the camels back. I called, asked for cornrows going back, was scheduled an appointment. This place is amazing! As soon as walked in I was instantly greeted and shown around the salon. They have a nice assortment of coffee and tea to sip on while waiting and it smelled great. I usually have my head phones in and watch a show or something while I get my hair done but my stylist Tierra was so funny and easy to talk to I didn't even look at my phone. I was told all about how to take care of my hair correctly and what products to use. It worked. Everyone has been asking me what I did to my hair because it looks so healthy and smooth now. Ok, $30! That's right ladies...this is what happens when you do 24 hours worth of research via the internet. I received a hairology lesson, wash and press all within an hour (ladies of color you know this is un-heard of) Gone are... "all day, my butt hurts cause I've been sitting too long, why is she eating chicken and not doing my hair...I save a whole two weeks pay to get my hair did(sorry grammar), he wont notice days." I might update this review if I'm ever able to make an appointment b/c the receptionist(s) here seem to be lacking basic skills to manage the front desk. When I first called I was put on hold for 10-15 minutes after asking what I thought would be a simple question about their services. No one ever got back on the line to let me know I wasn't forgotten or apologize about the wait. Eventually I hung up and called back after 10 mins and was immediately put back on hold w/o any explanation. About 10 more mins someone finally picks up, seemed confused about the very same question, so at this point I didn't care and just wanted to book an appt. She then proceeded to put me back on hold because she was 'multitasking' and there were people at the front desk. It was the complete opposite of multitasking... 10-15 mins later of continuous hold music and I finally gave up. She clearly didn't want my business. Sad thing is I have heard and read (albeit rather old) rave reviews about this salon and I tried my hardest to book an appt. to experience it for myself. I would recommend hiring more professional & efficient front desk members that can handle this position b/c they establish a terrible 1st impression. My first trip to Synergi wasnt exactly what I had hoped for. I was in a friends wedding and I had just taken my braids out a week before. I knew that I wanted a trim and something cute for her wedding. The stylist went over what the options were and stated that a style could be chosen/decided after we checked the length. Now I can say she washed the life out of my hair and I appreciated it! It definitely was needed. So cut to deciding on a style... she asked what I wanted .. I mentioned I was attending a wedding and wanted something cute. Needless to say I wasnt happy with the result. The styling wasnt good and I dont know if she cared that I was visibly unhappy with it. I needed a trim and blowout after a bad trim experience in October. Made the appointment Tuesday for Wednesday and was out of the salon with 75 minutes...that's very fast and my hair was amazing. I have incredibly thick natural hair and the stylist Erika performed a miracle! I have never in my life been to a salon and out so fast and actually have great hair from the root down! I was referred to Synergi Salon by a family friend -- a stylist who anticipated that Synergi mousse and glaze would suit my hair type. She was correct! My first visit was during late January 2016. Professional, personable, and polite stylist Jamila Bowman set my hair on blue and yellow perm rods. After balking initially, owner Karen Gary finished the style by using clippers to taper the back and sides. ***The Synergi mousse and glaze provided great hold and sheen. A+++ hold and sheen!*** I was very pleased with the resulting curly style. Overall, Jamila Bowman and the Synergi products are tops. This is my favorite salon in the Columbus area for perm rod sets. read more

It's very sad because this salon is a very good example of why most black businesses fail...you make it hard for someone to come to your establishment and spend money. ..get it together if you want long jevity. Amanda had someone call me 1 hour before my appointment to say she had to go home "sick". I understand things happen, but why not offer me something other than an option to come in the next day? She never followed up with me! Nija did my hair my very first visit there and suggested that I get box braids for a while. After telling her I didn't know of anyone that I could trust to do them, she said she would do them for me. I agree with the other reviewers. The staff is very friendly, professional, and informative. I walked in, sat down two seconds and my stylists came out to get me. Unfortunately, this was the worst "natural hair experience" I have ever had.... I don't think the stylists I had was experienced with natural hair. After my hair was washed/conditioned, she took the tangle teezer and just started brushing my hair (from the roots to ends) vigorously. Since this is advertised as "natural hair salon" I would think they know how to properly detangle. ENDS TO ROOTS. I could literally hear/feel my hair snapping. I had little curls all over the book I was reading because she was shredding my hair. They use two heating irons, one is a pre-straightner(?) the other, the actual flat iron. The heat was not set to the lowest setting on either of the irons. When I got home I could smell my hair. It smelled burnt and the smell would not go away. My hair was EXTREMELY dry and brittle and I had broken pieces all over the sink every time I combed it. Needless to say, I have heat damage and my curls just aren't the same:( I will be wearing protective styles and deep conditioning treatments twice a week to restore my hair to the state it was BEFORE I visited this salon. Bottom line: I could have A. Gone to my old stylists who used to give me perms. I didn't go to her because I wanted someone experienced with natural hair... B. I could have done a better job doing it myself Two positives out of this experience. I received a nice trim...and it was only $35 I will NEVER be back to this salon but I will not discourage others. Just make sure you get a Synergi trained stylists. I think they are the ones with more years of experience. Their prices are around $65 but you get what you pay for. I will not go back to this salon or recommend anyone to go there. I was a patron for about 6months and my stylist left, so I decided to try another stylist which didnt workout. I called and schedule an appointment to get my hair done but when I got to the shop I was told am not on the stylist schedule and was ask if I got a confirmation email in which i didnt get and have never gotten one since I started going there. I was treated like I wasnt good enough to be there. The management team needs to teach the staffs how to provide good customer service skills and to behave properly when they are at work. Also they need to be respectful to patrons whether they are young or old, big or small. read more

Wonderful Salon, but don't use online ordering of products! Although the salon is wonderful. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasing. Salon is clean and very professional and all stylists appear to be very knowledgeable and skilled at working with natural hair. Stylists are timely, good at styling and respectful of their clients time. My one negative is ordering products online. I live in NJ and Cols is home. When I was there over the holiday, they were out of the product used on my hair so I order product via the website ~ 3 weeks ago. The product was packaged and shipped in a timely fashion, but was never delivered to me. I called to report problem and was given the name and number of a lady who processes the online orders. I got a call back 4 days after I left the message and was advised that the product would be resent to me. That was over a week ago and I have left a message, but have not rec'd a response. I will start with the pros before sharing my story. Those are that they explain each of their product to you as they use them. But that's because they want you to buy them. Onto the appointment. I was 15 mins early, she was 15 mins late. The greeting was ok. I was a little disappointed​ because the stylists hair was pretty damaged and my Motto is "if your can't care for your own hair, how can you care for mines." Anyways, they force you to get the new client service if you're new which is more than all other services and only includes a consultation, which is free most places (also new client prices usually CHEAPER other places). I've been natural over 5 years so there is nothing new they could tell me so having to pay $20 more for the new service was worthless. They ask what products you use just to tell you to use theirs anyways. Also, she kept saying "I usually do [...] or recommend [...] for each client" but each person's hair has different needs so I don't think that's any real advice. She was attentive during the wash but when it came to blow drying THANK GOD I'm not tender headed. This is a natural hair place and she didn't detangle or anything! We all know you must detangle natural hair to manage it. She just went straight in with the blow dryer. The trim and straightening was ok, I've had better. The products don't seem to be anything spectacular; I'll have to see how my hair reverts back. Lady at front desk was nice but I didn't like how the stylist hung around trying to ear hustle how much tip I was leaving. I went to this place because they claim to be natural specialist but they do nothing more than any other place. If I was to come back I would chose a different stylists. This was my first time going to a salon since I went natural in 2010...naturally I was nervous. I had Sandie as my stylist for the day and she not only helped me understand my hair better, but she was the first person who'd ever told me that my hair was "easy to manage." She made me feel confident, beautiful and excited to spend my time and money there. I did not feel pressured to purchase their products right away, and a blowout and style was more than affordable. I left feeling educated about my hair, and with a new friend in a stylist who did not judge my lack of knowledge about hair care and products. She left me with a list of products that we'd used that day and to my (pleasant) surprise, the prices were about how much I'm used to paying! I have been a Synergi client for the last five years. I have mostly been satisfied with the service but lately I realized that the quality of the service was on a decline. I thought very hard about writing this review but after two very disturbing appointments I decided to tell my story. The first incident happened on the Friday before Memorial Day. I was going on vacation out out the country so I wanted my hair two strand flat twisted so I could wear a twist out style on my trip. It was my first time working with this stylist. She parted my hair from ear to ear and proceeded to twist my hair in that fashion. I informed her that I usually get my twists going straight back which better suits the contour of my face. Needless to say I left the salon disappointed and frustrated. I notified the customer service person of my dissatisfaction at checkout, but I did not even as much as get an apology. I was at the salon today for the first time since the disaster twists. When I booked the appointment I clearly stated that I did not want to be serviced by the last stylist. This appointment was also for two strand flat twists. Before the stylist began my service I related my last experience to her, I told her that I want the twists going back and that I prefer them small. Well today was an even bigger disaster. I truly doubt whether this stylist had ever done a two strand flat twist. I knew I was in trouble when she started by twisting the hair in the center of my head. When I get my hair flat twisted I usually have 10-12 rows of twists going from front to back. This woman gave me 7 fat rows of twist and I was not happy. I asked to speak to someone about my hair, I explained that I informed the stylist of what I wanted before we got started. They offered to redo my hair tomorrow, I declined since I have to work. I recounted the previous experience with the sideways twists and explained how frustrating it is to pay for something that you don't like. I was given a $25 discount on today's service. I seriously doubt that I will ever go back to Synergi. There is a lot of hype about this place but the service is not up to par. It appears that the stylists are not well trained. There were good stylist here once upon a time but they are all gone. Aryis is the only good stylist now and so she is always booked. I like supporting my own but I refuse to pay to service that is sub standard. Sorry Synergi, you just lost a customer!! read more

Do not go here regularly to get your hair done. Here are the reasons why: 1. The hair stylist have not fully brought into the concept of the way this salon does business. I applaud the owner for the strategic setup that caters to the availability of the customer. After attending this shop 4 times it's obvious that the majority of the hairstylist still have the old beauty shop mentality by their speech & attitude. 2. The first time I attended this shop I allowed the hair stylist to cut the rest of the relaxer off of my hair, which at first I thought she did a great job. However, the 2nd time when I got my hair done by a different stylist she complained to the head stylist/owner that my hair wasn't curling right. The head stylist/owner suggested that it was bcuz my hair wasn't cut right, which the other hair stylist (the one that cut the rest of the relaxer out of my hair) over heard & walked over & said I cut her hair. I turned around & asked if my hair had been cut right then the head stylist/owner reassured me that it had been cut right all while re-cutting my hair in the back all over again. 3. 3rd time I set up an appointment but the hairstylist I requested called in sick. I got a TEXT message from the shop at 11pm at night informing me of this & I can keep my appointment if I didn't mind if another girl (who was just out of hair school) did my hair. I wasn't informed of the new hair stylist inexperience up front but figured it out real quick after she repeatedly burn me on my scalp simply from flatting ironing my hair. Interesting enough this hair stylist attempted to cut my ends AGAIN but I refused it & reiterated my hair was just cut TWICE in the shop in a matter of 3 weeks. I was not satisfied with the overall final look but didn't make a big deal out of it bcuz it was only $20 since it was the special promotion day. Looking back now I realized why they substituted an inexperience hairstylist...they figured I was only paying $20 so I got a $20 hair style. 4. The 4th time I was 10 minutes early but it looked like my hairstylist had just started on another clients hair. While waiting patiently this young girl who was working behind the desk stocking when I walked in walks over to me & informed me that she was going to shampoo & dry my hair. After shampooing and drying my hair it's now 10:45 & the hairstylist I originally scheduled my appointment with doesn't seem to be concerned at all while she's finishing up another clients hair. The young girl who for all I know wasn't even a hair stylist flat irons my hair. At 11:15 the hairstylist I originally scheduled my appointment with finally came. Guess what happened next...SHE WANTS TO CUT MY ENDS... Yes I said it! ..... I informed her that I was against it bcuz in a matter of 6 weeks it would be the 3rd time having my ends trimmed. Even after explaining to her my reasons for not wanted my ends trimmed she still insisted.....OMG! PLEASE TELL ME WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO FIGHT WITH A HAIRSTYLIST ON WHY I DON'T WANT HER TRIMMING MY ENDS. Minus 1 attempted that I was able to fight off. Like an idiot, I finally gave in and allowed her to cut my ends & the results......when I left there my hair was shorter than it had been in a long time time! AT this point, I AM SO PISSED OFF right now that I could freakin hall off & SLAP SOMEBODY. I walk up to the counter to pay & the receptionist takes it upon herself to ADD a $10 tip on my total for the hairstylist. When I questioned it she immediately took it off. For the record I have always had long hair all my life & have cut my hair short plenty of times. I workout 5 to 6 days a week would like to be able to whip my hair up in a ponytail. My job is right down the street from this location which made it even more convenient to come here right after work. DO NOT make this place a regular place to get your hair done. If you do, YOUR HAIR WILL ALWAYS be short. I do highly recommend that you buy the product. The products are great and I am still using the products that I brought. read more

Pretty good. I'm normally always in and out in under an hour and a half which is unheard of for (stereotypical) black salons. I really think the quality depends on who you go to. I've tried the owner and three different stylists. All but one were knowledgeable and knew how to manage thick, natural, Type 4 hair. One of the stylists came at my coils with a rat tooth comb for detangling, so that was a problem. Never thought I would rave about the products, but their shampoo really is amazing. It kept my flat twists shiny (ok as shiny as 4c hair can be) and moisturized for a week. Moisturized and touch-ably soft for a whole stinkin' week without product! The last time I went, it seemed like the stylist double booked.I sat in a chair for a good 20 minutes (not the norm)and had to leave to get my son. So I simply left with just a blow out. It wasn't a huge deal since I know how to do my own hair, its doing my own blow outs that hurt my arms. They ended up charging me $15 for the wash which was fair. read more

This salon is awesome. They will take great care of your hair, whatever the style. I was so happy to have found a salon that could offer care for natural hair! Oh, and the prices are pretty cheap, too! read more
