I have had tattoo's done in several places across this country. I decided to go to Syndicate because it was only about an hour from home. Great choice. The shop is very clean. No dirty anything. You could eat off of their floors. I chose Sam as my artist, and I could not possibly be happier. She took her time, relaxed me and made me feel welcome. Not to mention that she is beautiful! I set up an appointment with the apprentice Lindsey, she did an awesome job. I felt terrible because the location the tattoo was being done, my ankle, I couldn't stop twitching and she was so nice about it. The only bad thing I would say is the guy that was next to Lindsey's station, not sure his name, but the friend I came with moves a bit around because it's a calming mechanism for her, she rocks back and forth. He looked at her like she was crazy and said what's wrong with you. That rubbed her the wrong way and she went to sit in the car. Had an appointment for April 4th to fill in a blank spot on my sleeve, before the infamous Army Tattoo reg came out. Got word that it was coming out soon, so I rolled the dice and called the shop to ask if there were any cancellations for Jason, my artist. I got lucky and was able to come in the very next day. Jason is very professional, and had my idea down on paper and it was perfect, even though I came in a week and a half early. The shop is very clean, all of the artists seemed like good guys, and Jaqui at the front desk is super friendly. She even remembers your name. I just went to Syndicate to get a conch piercing. We were quickly attended to and the piercer, John Fitzgerald, did an amazing job. He was very friendly, funny and made the experience comfortable and fun even! He was extremely knowledgeable about not only the process but the tools he was using which made me feel more confident in having my piercing done. He took great care to make sure he did a good job and explained the after care thoroughly. He ensured that I could contact him at any time with questions of complications and he would be more than happy to help me! I got a body piercing from John. He is clean! He incredibly professional. He educated me on post care instructions. He THROWS AWAY the used instruments. He was so pleasant and made my experience enjoyable. He has being doing this for 20 years and knows exactly what he is doing. Had a run in with the owner, Matt, today. If you ever design your own artwork, and wish to bring it into Syndicate for pricing. Do not let them make a copy of it. I brought in a design I created to have priced. The receptionist informed me that the artist I chose wasn't there & she needed to make a copy of the design so it could be priced by the artist. I had my reservations about allowing them to copy my work & she informed me that the artwork would not be used for anyone but me, & they would keep it on file until I decided whether to get the tattoo with them. So based on that information, I allowed her to make a copy of my artwork. Today I came in with my daughter, she scheduled an appointment to get her first tattoo with one of the artists. While waiting I asked the status of pricing my artwork for a tattoo, & they had. They wanted to charge almost 50% more then any other place in the area with compatible artists in talent. At that time I decided I would not be using them for my tattoo, & asked for my artwork back. She informed me she couldn't give the copy to me because it was shop policy to hold the design. I told her I've decided that I won't be using them for the tattoo, so I wanted it back because they no longer have a need to hold my artwork. She still wouldn't & offered to get the owner. She had a discussion with Matt in front of me but out of ear shot. Matt walked up & asked how he could help me. I explained the situation, & he also refused to give it back. He said he would keep it for me for the future, & that once his shop made a copy of it, it became his property & I was not allowed to have it back. This is completely different then what I was originally told before I gave consent for the copy of my artwork. I then informed him that if his receptionist would have told me that I wouldn't have allowed it in the first place. It is not his work, it is my work, and as a fellow artist it is surprising to me that he would not respect someone else's artistic property especially when he guards & protects his, & his fellow tattoo artists work so vigorously. The only thing he would offer is to destroy the copy. So I told him to shred it right there in front of me so I know it's properly disposed of. He told me he doesn't own a shredder. All he could do was rip it up, which is not a sufficient way to destroy documents. It can easily be taped back together and kept. After he finished ripping up the copy & throwing it away in his garbage can, I walked away from the front desk, very angry, & sat down next to my daughter who was still waiting to be called back. I remarked to her & my husband about how shady their policy was. At that time he told me to leave his shop. I told him I wouldn't, my daughter's here for a tat. He escalates it, & tells me if I don't leave he has no problem calling the police & have me escorted out. The only reason we stayed after this awful display was because if we left my daughter would be out the $120.00 deposit required to book the appointment. Let's face it, if they're willing to steal someone's artistic property, & call it their own, they're not going to refund money once a customer has found out how dishonest they are. She had no other choice but to stay. After he said this to me, I tried to reason with him, tried to talk to him one adult to another. I hoped he'd humble himself enough to see my side. He accused me of causing a disturbance in his shop, and originally refused to even talk further to me. I tried to appeal to him as an artist, and how ethically wrong it was for him take possession and ownership of someone else's work, especially when the policy does't allow customers to view artists portfolios away from the front counter. You have to stand at the counter & look through each folder. I tried to talk to him about how his receptionist failed to convey the entire shop policy to me. He then told me that his reason for not giving me back the copy was because it costs him 10 cents to make the copy. If that's the case then why not just say that if I want my copy back I need to pay the 10 cents it cost him & hand me back my work? I would have gladly paid him for the materials he used to make the copy of my work. I never would have given him permission to take ownership of my work I don't give him permission to take ownership of my artwork. No matter how I tried to reason with him, he wasn't having any of it, and told me once more that if I don't leave he was calling the police. At his point I left, after saying goodbye to my daughter and husband. About 20 mins later my husband comes out and tells me he was threaten as well and asked to leave. He & my daughter overhead Matt talking badly about me. My husband, a veteran, told him to stop. Matt tried lying to him, claiming he hadn't said anything, so my husband told him to shut up (not so nicely). Matt's business is veteran owned, yet he treats veteran customers poorly & my daughter had to get her 1st tattoo alone. read more

Nice, clean shop. I chose the busy season to get a tat, so had to make a reservation almost one month out; but it was worth the wait. Chose a traditional style patriotic tattoo, and chose Matt as my artist because he's also a veteran, as am I. This was the first time I'd gotten a tat without my son around (he's who turned me onto tattoos), and Matt was so personable that I enjoyed myself and my nervousness dissipated. The staff was accepting of my service dog as well, and there was enough room behind & beside my chair for her to lie down while Matt tattooed my shoulder. I've been in customer service going on 20 years. I take treating customer with the upmost respect and consideration very seriously. Syndicate Tattoos does amazing work, all of my co-workers rave about their experience. This is why I chose them for my microblading. However, I don't see how it is fair, or good customer service to increase the price on an original agreement when the establishment cancelled on me, not once, but twice. Now I have to pay a new rate. Although, I more than understand how a business works, this incident is totally unacceptable. I hope no one else has experienced this. I truly believe, more than ever a company she back up their word. I was told due to rescheduling on their end my pricing wouldn't change and it certainly did. I was offered a $50 discount, which in my eyes indicates their was certainly an error on the company's side. The money is a factor, be it not the main factor. It's the principle of the whole matter, in not charging a potential customer an additional amount just because you had to reschedule. I hope they learn from this and put better disclosures out for customers to be aware of changes. read more

With my work schedule I am able to make the drive on sundays and he's always been down for a 4-5 hour session on his days off. I have put off getting a tattoo for a long time mainly because a lot of the shops in this town change names and people way to often. I asked my friend who recently got her's done at Syndicate about her experience. She told me go see Matt, the next day I went down and talked to the amazing staff and felt right at home. A few weeks had gone by before I went to actually get the art work done. As soon as I walked in the atmosphere was amazing, everyone was happy and laughing. Never have I felt so comfortable. Matt was the right guy for my Art, that I know for sure and he didn't disappoint. My tat is still healing but I get compliments about it everywhere I go! I would recommend this place to everyone! I had my very first tattoo done by Jason at Syndicate and I couldn't be happier with the result. I think he went above and beyond to not only make me feel like a valued customer but he made sure I knew what to expect not only during the tattoo process but after and how to take care of my beautiful tattoo. If someone asks me where to get a tattoo my response will be Syndicate for sure. Jason was absolutely terrific, I couldn't have asked for more. But I have seen some of the other artists work while I was in there and they all do amazing work. The atmosphere of the shop while you are in there is fun, energetic, and the staff is just out and out hilarious. The store is beyond clean which for me being slightly ocd about those types of things was such a huge relief. The prices are very reasonable considering the high level of artistic ability these artists have. I just couldn't be happier with the result of my foot tattoo and how well Jason took all the ideas I gave him and put everything into the gorgeous tattoo I ended up with. If you're wanting a tattoo then Syndicate is definitely the place to go and Jason is such an amazing tattoo artist, although all the artist at syndicate are amazing. read more

I love this shop, not just because the building is inviting and very classy, but because the artists took the time to give the customers EXACTLY what they are asking them for. I have no artistic talent but I had a vision of what I wanted in my head and it is everything I wanted and then some. I have been to other shops and none have given me the feeling of trust from the moment I started talking about my ideas. They made me feel like my tattoo wasn't just important to me, but that they actually care. I have had 4 pieces done in the last year by Matt and I love each one, they are better than I pictured in my mind. I love going in just to say hi to all the staff. From the moment I walked into the shop I felt like more than just a customer.
