I have been a loyal customer for Fine Line for almost 14 years now. I began going when they had the smaller shop and I loved the "down to earth" feeling that it had. It was never uncomfortable and always welcoming. The "new" shop is bright, open and has a wonderful vibe about it. I have had the most enjoyable experiences every time. Jennifer has given me all but 1 of my 14 tattoos and she is the one and only person that I will ask to tattoo me. I have highly recommended her to everyone I know that is serious about wanting the best work and the highest quality experience possible. Not only is she a phenomenal artist who has inspired me further in my own art, but she is also one of the most truly genuine people I have ever met. I tend to draw my own tattoos and have also drawn several for friends and family. Jennifer has never turned down an idea of mine and actually we have collaborated on several of them to take them to the next level. I feel so honored that she puts her own touch on everything that I get. I've never walked away from Fine Line disappointed or miffed about anything in the slightest way. I look forward to the appointments that I make with Jennifer, not only do I feel that we can talk as friends and enjoy the time, but she also truly understands me and my taste of art and design and our ideas mesh together in a way that I don't think I will ever find in another artist. I have to whole heartedly disagree with the other comment. My experience with Fine Line has been great every single time. I work with Jen and she is one of the best artists I have ever come across. She is fun to talk to and she works with you on what you want done and your pricing and you can tell that she genuinely enjoys the work that she is doing. My appointments have always started right on time. I would agree that their $100/hr pricing is a bit expensive but it you have the correct raport with the person you're working with, it's worth it PLUS they will generally work with you on price. I would also agree that I have seen some work come out of that shop that I didn't like but what do you expect, you're not going to like every artists style or the way that they do things. If you're getting a tattoo it should be planned well in advance with plenty of contact with the artist you want to work with. You should be sure that they are in line with your vision of what you want YOUR tattoo to be and you should already know if you like their style or not. People that just walk in a plop down in a chair or pick some garbage flash off the wall deserve what they get and they'll be the one's regretting their tatt's in the future. The coloured portion is about 7 years old. The black is about 3 months old. Jennifer is an artistic genius. From the first time she inked "normal" on my wrist.... We became friends. Her ability to draw what I described to her in an email is unrealistic. Her eye for detail, and her perfectionism makes her a phenomenal artist.... which in turn makes her a phenomenal tattoo artist. She is also very entertaining, and makes the time in the chair go by quickly. We started off as tattooer/tattooee.... and became friends. Very interesting lady with hilarious stories. The shop itself is that... a tattoo shop. Clean, aseptic.. what you should (and should want to) expect out of a shop. It's open, but tattoos are meant to be seen. You don't want everyone to see an expression of your soul... write a poem. So, if you are a person who relies heavily on reviews, I hope this one swayed you to go check Fine Line out. I was sixteen years old, & had a very Large 'homeade' tattoo on my back from a friend and one day my mom 'finally saw it ' & said OH HELL NO!! lol...She took me to FINELINE in TOPEKA to get it Covered Up and I have been goin there for over TEN YEARS NOW!! When I turned 21 I wanted to get a tattoo to celebrate and remind myself of how far I'd come in my journey to recovery from my Eating Disorder and self harm. After a great recommendation from one of my friends, I booked an appointment with Jennifer who helped me make the piece I wanted more amazing than I had imagined. I got an entire rib piece complete with 7 stars larger than a half dollar and completely filled in with red ink and a phrase I had chosen. She was able to get the work done in only an hour (other places had said it would take upwards of 2-3) without sacrificing quality! My husband and i have been going to fine line for the last 15 year's has 2 full sleeves + and i have a half sleeve and a full sleeve +. Jennifer does all of our work. She simply is the best. Not just because of her excellent work but because of the overall experience you get when your in her chair. She makes you feel right at home. I would never go anywhere Elsi have seen all of the artist at fine line work and they are all amazing... Jennifer doesn't just Tattoo me. She creates beautiful and amazing works of art on me that i will enjoy for my entire life. I have nothing but positive things to say about FineLine! I rec'd my very first tattoo there in 1990 and have continued to go back. The one single time I went anywhere else, I ended up with an eyesore that I carried around on my ankle for 18 years. Jennifer transformed that ugliness into something absolutely beautiful. She will always be my artist of choice...always. I have gone back to her since and, in fact, have an upcoming appt with her in May. I am into custom work and if you are too, Jennifer is the lady to see. She always loves my ideas and never changes them unless it is to show me the light lol. I have sat in her chair for hours upon hours and NEVER once regretted my choice. I have never had to have any touch-ups because I take care of her work EXACTLY like she says. Touch-ups if needed are free but hell if you take care of her art there is never any need for them. I like the open shop feeling because you can see the other tattooist's work and get a feel for their style before you choose. I would recommend this shop to anyone and everyone unless you are a agoraphobic person then maybe you should just stay home. I went to Fine Line based on a recommendation from someone who has several tattoos, all done by Jennifer. It was my first tatt and is an original piece of artwork still in progress...I've been going to her for years. I design tatts and recommend all my clients go to Fine Line. They are clean, experienced and extremely talented. I've never felt uncomfortable and have always been treated with respect. I love the open atmosphere!!! I am so glad that I went to Fine Line Tattoo shop to get many tattoos done! I have a complete sleeve on my one leg another larger one on the other and a portrait of my Mother on my chest a sleeve that JENNIFER BOHLANDER THE GREAT is working on for me now! Got another great piece done by Jennifer yesterday! I love her work, the last 4 pieces she has done has been from me telling her an idea and her drawing them up.
