CATAK POOLS

CATAK POOLS

We had our pool built by CATAK Pools (completed Nov 2025) and overall had a really positive…read moreexperience. Before moving forward, we met with 3 different contractors, and Mike was the only one who really understood our vision. We didn't want to tear out our existing concrete or patio cover, which made the project more complicated, but he was able to design around it and still deliver exactly what we were hoping for. That flexibility was a big reason we chose them. We broke ground on 9/15/25 and everything was complete by 11/10/25!!! It was crazy how fast everything went and he definitely did an amazing job coordinating all the teams to finish in a timely manner. We went with a custom setup that included a raised spa, Baja shelf, and two illuminated sheer descents, and everything came together really well. The spa might just be one of the biggest in town! The water features at night give the whole backyard a clean, finished look, with the lights. We also added the iAquaLink system, which has been super convenient for controlling everything from our phones. Like any build, there were a few minor things that came up along the way, but nothing major, and Mike has been responsive when we needed him. What stood out most is that he didn't disappear after the job was done-- Mike continues to be helpful when we've had questions or needed small adjustments. That kind of follow-through matters with a project like this, and it's a big reason we'd recommend CATAK. Looking forward to enjoying the pool for years to come and continuing to work with them if anything comes up down the line. I will add some pictures soon!

We have built four pools now with four different contractors over the past 20 or so years. While…read morethe first three I would consider decent projects with not too much to complain about, it became apparent that building with CATAK pools would be an eye-opening experience. The level of professionalism and expertise was something we had never experienced before in any home project including building a custom spec home, let alone a swimming pool. Attention to detail and quality was built into the entire project and Mike was leading the entire way. All aspects of the project were handled with zero headaches on our end and there weren't any surprises or "gotcha" moments, Mike handled everything and always made us comfortable with the process, valued our input, and any offered changes from us without any fuss or hassle. The execution of the project was seamless and performed in a systematic and efficient manner, even with some weather impact the whole project was wrapped up in record time. During execution the crews' that Mike used were amazing! Even though there is some noise associated with the process they were always cognizant of appropriate times and hours worked in order to keep the nuisance down to a tolerable level for us and our adjacent neighbors who commented more than once about the exemplary job the company was doing and keeping work areas and approaches clean during the process. One neighbor didn't even realize we were building a pool until it was just about finished! The finished product is beautiful and turned out better than we could have hoped for! We would recommend CATAK pools and Mike Smith for anyone who is considering building the pool of your dreams! Thanks again Mike!

Guess we don't get out often enough, or I can confess to sleeping on checking out this park. We…read moredrive by it on Royal Avenue multiple times a week, so knew that it was there, but we'd never been there before last Saturday evening. Dear Hubby and I attended the Water Lantern Festival event there, thus experiencing the environment of the park for the first time. The first thing we found was a good-sized parking lot on the west side of the park grounds. Because the festival boasted food trucks to feed the guests, part of the parking lot was devoted to their space. We still had an easy time parking (for free). From there, we walked east past a soccer pitch toward the amphitheater / duck pond area where the festival was in full swing. I didn't realize that the park hosts live music during the summertime. With the natural bowl of the sloping lawn area it would be a nice place to listen to a concert. Bring a blanket, some lawn chairs, and a picnic, and you'd be all set. Am not sure of the restroom situation. The festival brought in porta-potties and free-standing sinks, which were plentiful. There may be actual flush toilets and fresh water sinks in the park, but I didn't see a building for same in the area where we spent time. The duck pond would be a great place to bring kids, but please leave bread at home. It's bad for the digestive system of water fowl. Signs announcing this are around the pond. I'd have to research what better alternatives there are, but bread is a no-no. This park is home to tennis and basketball courts, plus the community swimming pool, too. Centrally located in town and convenient for most residents, it's one of the pluses of living in suburbia to have spaces like this available to get outdoors and play.

Our child absolutely LOVES this swim school…read more From the moment we arrive, they light up knowing they get to see their instructor, "Ms. Ay-ba" (Ava) and when it's time to leave, they're always asking for "more pool!" In just a few months, we've watched them grow from hesitant to completely confident--jumping in, swimming, and fully trusting their instructor. They're now learning to float and roll, and seeing that pride and excitement has been incredible. This program has given them not just essential water safety skills, but confidence, joy, and a genuine love for the water. We are so grateful for the positive impact it's had on our family

It was originally so frustrating (and front desk was so rude) that I just gave up and decided to deal with losing the the makeup classes. However, Jon and his director, Cori, got everything sorted out. They now have an app that makes things easier. And most importantly, my daughter had so much fun. She was smiling all throughout her lesson. Not sure if the rude lady still works there but when we went in, it was a pleasant experience. It says a lot when owners actually care about their customer's experience. If anyone else is having a negative experience, I would recommend reaching out directly to the director, Cori, she is super sweet and helpful!

I definitely underestimated this pool! For some reason I expected it to be super crowded and…read morecrammed, but it was actually the opposite, there was a good amount of people and it was a very large pool where you had enough space in the recreation area. The amount of lanes were you able to get your lane if you wanted to do laps. Had multiple lifeguards onduty on top of safety and the place was clean. I will say the bathrooms could've been better, but overall the rest is really good. They had pool toys for you to use and my son really loved the water basketball hoop. It was also pretty neat that you can bring your own food or order your food for delivery. Four dollars per person is a great price! They also have summer movie nights and Sunday evenings with the inflatable pool jumper which I thought was pretty cool. Definitely plan to come back .

Wonderful and clean facility!…read more When the swimming pool at my gym was out of commission, I needed to look for an alternative as swimming is part of my weekly workout routine. The pool has 6 lanes, with increasing depth along the pool. The outer left lanes are very shallow and are mostly used for kids' swimming classes. The outer right lanes are 5 feet deep and are wide enough for comfortable swimming laps. The swimming pool is kept very clean and heated all year round. There is a lifeguard on duty and a small outdoor changing area. As for parking, there are ample parking spaces within the CLU school campus. The lanes fill up fast, and the best way to book them is through the conejo valley recreation website. Booking a single lane for an hour costs $4, which is a very affordable option to use such a nice facility.

On first blush you think...it's amazing that there aren't more Masters Programs in the Los Angeles…read morearea. After all, we do live in the desert. Then you realize...everyone already has pools, oh; and we live by the beach. Anyhoo...after a long three year break, I crave the thrill of victory and have taken up triathlon again. I used to swim with SCAQ when I lived in Venice (another very good program), but it's just too far for me to drive for a pre-dawn workout. The program is held in the Cal Lutheran Pool which was only recently finished. The pool is an outstanding 50 meters which will put the hurt on you if like me, you are woefully unfit. You can't fake fitness in swimming. Nancy, the head masters coach is quite accomplished...UCLA All American, Top Ten in the world in backstroke, etc. etc. She's a good coach who keeps her eye on everyone and gives regular feedback. Her workouts are tough...especially the 1.5 hour workouts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They even have another coach take the beginners in the 25 meter pool to teach noobs pool ettiquette, strokes, flip turns and all that other neat stuff. While they have a lot of items you will need...pull buoys, kick-boards, fins, you may want to invest in those AND a swim cap (if you're a lady), clear and dark goggles (if you're going to swim during the day), hand paddles (start with small ones that fit the size of your hands), wait and buy your fins from Nancy. Also I noted that people are using snorkels when doing pull drills. A couple things BRING WATER!!! Yes, you're in the water, but you still need to drink. If you're a guy and you're not used to wearing those lovely package revealing speedos, you can keep your goodies under wraps with the "down to the knee" versions at your local Sports Chalet. They have locker rooms with showers.
