What followed was even more disturbing: COCKROACHES throughout my grandmother's room, in her bed, and throughout her personal belongings. Let that sink in. These are people's living spaces. Their beds. Their personal belongings. This is where our elderly loved ones are supposed to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. What makes this even more upsetting is that these are vulnerable, often medically fragile individuals who can't always speak up for themselves, advocate for their own needs, or even communicate when something is wrong. They are dependent on others to protect them, treat them with dignity, and provide basic standards of care. Cleanliness is the bare minimum. Having to worry about bugs crawling through a resident's bed and belongings is absolutely unacceptable. Beyond the condition of the facility, our experience also raised serious concerns about staff interactions, the lack of respect shown, and communication with family members. (J.J is very unprofessional) Families should not have to fight to get information about their loved ones. They should not feel dismissed, disrespected, or left in the dark when it comes to someone's care and well-being. Neighbors mostly snowbirds and totally cliquey to boot. Isolated, lonely, depressed, felt that there was no life ahead. I could have a heart attack and rot in there, and nobody would know or care. (Sorry for being so graphic, but yep, that is what depression feels and sounds like..) A friend referred me to Oasis. Ann came to see me and discussed my physical abilities & disabilities, wants, needs. She emailed me a list of 6 facilities with INDEPENDENT LIVING apartments, we set up appointments to visit 3 of them.. I fell absolutely in love with the first place she took me to, put a deposit, and moved in the following week and sold my condo. Now I am with other people who are pretty much at a similar life stage. I have friends, activities, incredible amenities, and now I do "have a life". (and by the way, this at NO COST to me.) The staff will walk into his room not even say hi or ask if him if he would like anything. They promise a lot but there is no follow through. I am constantly in there as my father's advocate. It's amazing how the staff and the administrators will argue that they are right when they're not. Look beyond the pretty and glitzy decorations and think twice before moving yourself or a loved one here.

Since the ownership changed within the last 5 months care and the overall environment have noticeably declined. Staffing and care: chronic understaffing, with several instances of missed meals and delayed supervision. My mother didn't have anyone several times to take her to the dining room for lunch and dinner, which I have video recordings of her not leaving her room for those meals. I had a ring camera in her room. Communication not always the best. I wanted her Drs number to talk about her medications and I was denied a few times until I put it in an email. Because of these concerns, I relocated my mom to a facility where she appeared happier within the 2nd day. If your parent needs assistance in a living center do not count on this one. I am posting this review as a warning to others.

I called to find out the times which weren't listed on the online calendar. I spoke to an Alana. She was abrupt, rude, interruptive, contradicted me repeatedly, and condescending. I was only calling to find out what time I should come in, she insisted I could "SEE the time on the calendar", until she finally checked it herself. When she realized the times weren't posted, she was even angrier and said; "Fine. I'll give you ALL the times." I thanked her and hung up. I'll search for another center. With the negative energy and ugliness that poured out of that woman, just over the phone to a new customer, who would want to go there?
