I recently started getting my nails done after not having the time to do them myself. So far, i've been here twice and love it ! Located in the same shopping center as Save Mart, you'll find Sylvia's nail shop! Sylvia herself is always at the very first station to your left and knows her regulars by name. Even though i've only been here twice, Sylvia and her nail techs know me and it's a nice feeling knowing everyone here is sooo accommodating! The prices here are very reasonable and the techs do a great job at listening to what the customer wants. The only male who works here seems to do a great job at coffin nails . A basic manicure is $10 and a pedicure is $22 which is not bad at all. They also offer eyebrow waxing for $7, if i remember correctly . It's cash only so don't forget. I've gone to Sylvia and Howard off and on for several years, for manicures and pedicures. The staff is friendly and patient and it's fairly priced. As much as I enjoyed coming here, I won't be back. I got an infection/fungus in my nail bed that spread into my finger. My nail and my cuticle no longer grow. The nail is very bumpy. And the skin on my finger is extremely dry and cracked. I have to apply medicine at least 3 times a day and after every hand washing. If I don't, my skin starts to flake and peel. This is the unfortunate circumstance I now deal with because the tools they use aren't cleaned/sanitized properly. I don't like giving negative reviews to anyone. This is more of a "BYOTools" if you like the work they do. read more

Negative stars I walked in, not one customer inside. Great, they'll be happy to see me I thought. Well, the Lady to the left was falling asleep to her tablet movie. I don't blame her, the AC must have been set on 85F. A couple more technicians were present and then the discussion started who was going to give me a pedicure. I was instructed numerous times to pick a color. I'm trying, I'm trying geez...So I get comfortable in my chair WITHOUT a plastic liner to be pampered by a technician NOT wearing gloves. Alrighty then... I relax..look around and OH NOOOOO, the Lady is shaving my heel with a razor blade on a stick also known as CREDO BLADE. These tools are illegal and dangerous. I immediately told her to stop and as I'm looking to my right, there is another victim getting her heels shaved... WOW! I'm sure they don't change out the blades or sanitize these tools. The rest of the pedicure went fine. When it was time to pay my Lady stands next to me with her hand open I said I meet you at the register. Oh no, CASH ONLY. NO register NO credit cards.. how do they keep track of their sales or taxes? Just sayin' read more

I love it here! It's my first time here and Sylvia and Howard are so welcoming and funny. They did a great job in taking in consideration and time with what I wanted. They also gave me so much information and advice about my nails and why my other nails from a different salon didn't last long. I will be coming back here from now on! Updated (5/21/18) I got my nails done on April 8th and they lasted SUPER long! I haven't gone in for a fill since I've been busy, but I haven't gotten any breaks or major chips(only one gem came off). They were able to squeeze me in less than an hour before closing which was nice. Howard was very fast and friendly. He got my almond shape perfect! I thought this was going to be my new nail salon less than 5 mins from home. My first red flag should have been minutes after he started my fill. Every salon I've been to always covers the nail with acrylic and then smoothes it out. Howard put acrylic at the top of my nail near my cuticles and only pulled it down to the rest of my nail he did not initially apply acrylic on the entire nail. The pictures I've added are of two broken Nails one which happened today 12 days after my fill and the other one happened 4 days after. I would have gone to get it fixed but I left 2 days after my fill for a destination wedding. I really really wanted to love this place but also dont want my nails breaking off less than a week after ive had them done. Maybe it was a fluke but I probably wont be back. It was my first time in yesterday, may I say I had an amazing experience! I walked in with my little sister and we were greeting so kindly. As I sat I noticed a lot of "usuals" walking in. Which made me feel very comfortable because it showed returning business and loyal customers. Each of them were greeted by their name which was pretty neat. I asked for "claws" you know, the sharp shaped ones. Well every other place has always given me round nails even after showing them a picture but not them. Donna did an amazing job! She kept filing until I was pleased. She even helped the other lady doing my sisters nails to make sure they were the same as mine. I only paid 42 for both full sets and it was worth it!! They also had a great nail color selection. I will definitely be back!! With my sister pleased as well it's a guarantee they have gained two new loyal customers. read more

I like Sylvia's especially for Pedicures unfortunately they do not take credit or debit. I do not carry cash, so when I feel the need for an Pedicure I have to choose a different Salon that does. You get what you pay for. $18 for full set acrylic is not bad but the lady did a horrible job. My pinky looks like a huge bubble, my thumb has a gap. I reached for my money and messed up one nail.
