The chocolate chip ones were small yet classic, hitting that perfect balance - not too hard, with a slightly toasted bottom and a soft, gooey inside! The red velvet cookies were thinner than expected, lacking a bit of structure but making up for it in taste. I could easily eat 10 of these before getting that hot feeling from my blood sugar rising. They almost resembled a cake cookie, and the red velvet flavor was pretty spot on. I like that little chocolate chip pieces were mixed inside to add texture and a bit of chocolatey sweetness. I found myself digging in the bag for more as it was quite easy and addicting to eat. Customer service gets an A+ for being super responsive and accommodating for my schedule. Overall, a great experience for a small business starting out. I would definitely order from her again!

Was planning a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend and was scrolling through Instagram to find cake artists. I stumbled upon Sylvia's Cakes and was impressed to say the least. If you're looking for a delicious but beautiful cake look no further! Ms. Sylvia got you. When I inquired about the cake through email, she responded instantly! Great at responding fast. She also has a wide variety of cake & filling flavors! She makes the process so smooth and easy. I picked up the cake the day of the party, and she was on time! She has been doing cakes for years and years and I can tell that she knows what she's doing!! Wonderful service and outstanding cake. It tastes as good as it looks. We got a red velvet flavor with buttercream filling and it was delicious. Additionally she is located in Chula Vista which is super convenient because I live 5 mins away! I would definitely order from Sylvia again and highly recommend anyone looking for a cake. the party guests absolutely were obsessed with the cake and kept asking me where I got it from!! I was so grateful to find Sylvia. It was my son's first birthday and we were not going to do much for it. But at the last moment, family flew in to celebrate so we decided to do a nice cake. I called around and no one took orders less than a week out. Sylvia was ready and able to handle our order. I told her what theme I wanted and she sent us a picture of a previous cake she had done. Her price was what to be expected for the cake. Sylvia kept in contact through text, and the day we picked up the cake she showed us her certificates and food handlers license. The cake was delicious. I didn't want to use fondant on the cake, but I was surprised that it wasn't how I remembered with other cakes. The icing she applied before the fondant was delicious. The cake was moist and not too sweet. Perfect for a 1 year old. I would definitley use Sylvia's Cakes again! read more

If I could give Sylvia's Cakes more than 5 stars, I would do it in a heartbeat. I have 3 kids and Sylvia has been providing us beautiful, "work of art" and delicious cakes. From my baby showers, my baby's Christenings and 1st birthdays, Sylvia's Cakes always delivers and exceeds my expectations! Yes, the cakes are a bit pricy, but it's worth every penny! My brother and sister-in-law had their small wedding celebration back in May. Their budget was tight. Sylvia listens and worked with them. And as expected, she found a way to work it out. I have recommended her to my family and friends, and heard all positive reviews. Please see my brother's wedding cake and my recent order for my son's 1st birthday celebration. Love.. love... love.. the cakes. Thank you, Sylvia's Cakes for making my celebrations extra special. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! read more

My husband and I ordered a cake for our daughter's graduation from law school April 28, 2017. I heard about Sylvia and her cakes from a travel agent who had used her services previously. I went online to see her selection. Honestly, once you "see" her work, you will surely want to order one of her cakes. I had so much faith in just the pictures that I didn't feel a need to sample. The cake was a HUGE hit. She made it look like a law book with a gavel and scales of justice on top along with a graduation cap. It was amazing. Guests kept going over to the cake table to take their own photos. Crazy good! I would highly recommend her services. She also delivered the cake with a nominal fee in perfect time for our celebration. You cannot go wrong with Sylvia's cakes. Teri Laursen Las Vegas, NV read more

Sylvia's Cakes: one word can describe her cakes AMAZING!!!!!! I have ordered for my last four events cakes and cupcakes as well with Sylvia. She is very professional and will do your cake exactly how you want it, just how you can imagine a cake that's how it will come out. Pricing is very fair for the type of work she does and when you speak to Sylvia it's like you have known her for years. The best part of the cakes besides how it is presented is the taste, it's the moment you take that first taste you just want more and more. Trust me once you start your orders with Sylvia you will never find cakes out there better than hers. Your event guest will compliment your cake I guarantee it. Order with time and you will have the most wonderful and enjoyable cake you ever had. I rank Sylvia's Cakes 10 out of 10. read more

I was looking for a Superhero cake for my son's birthday and couldn't find a three tiered cake for a reasonable price. I honesty almost gave up on the idea and was tempted to just get a costco cake. When I called Sylvia she was very helpful in helping me pick flavors for my son's 3 tiered cake. I even emailed her questions and she was very quick in responding. First things first, best cake I've had. I was looking for someone to create a specific cake for the occasion. After calling Sylvia, he was very attentive to my ideas. I was blown away when I saw the cake and even more so, when I tasted it. The design was spot on, she went above and beyond. Those have come out looking and tasting outstanding. However, the reason I am giving a 3 star today is because of my wedding cake experience - which I would deem as the MOST important cake of my life. I did not get the same level of quality nor service that I normally get from her. I know this was a time when she was getting more demand than she was able to keep up with and losing orders and what not. That being said I was very communicative in what I wanted (sent a picture), and when I wanted it by, including the delivery location and time, and she confirmed everything on multiple occasions. Because of past orders, I trusted her 100% to deliver a wonderful product as she always has. Well, when I finally got to see my wedding cake on the day of my wedding, the first thing I noticed was a large bubble on the top layer - sure, this could have happened after delivery, but it was unsightly. This, I could and did get past. The second thing I noticed was the writing N & G looked so ... well not artistic. It was by hand, but did not look very sophisticated or elegant at all, I honestly would have preferred no initials or initials in non-cursive to what we got. I was very disappointed as it looked like it was added in haste, or a young child drew it. The middle layer was a little more gaudy gold that I hoped rather than the champagne gold color in the picture, but I was okay with it. And the last thing I noticed was the color of the top layer. PINK! The picture of the cake I sent was WHITE!!! Why was it Pink? Shocking! So, I tried to forget about the cake and keep enjoying my wedding day, and the cake did taste great. And to her credit, the bottom layer was absolutely gorgeous! So for the wrong color and the bad monogram, I am deducting a star. The other star comes from customer service. I did reach out to her to let her know about the bubble (she mentioned it wasn't there when it was delivered, so that's fine), and the cake color. For the complaint about color, I basically got an "oops" with absolutely no sincere apology nor suggestion for correction. Not even credits towards a future cake. It was this, that has now completely turned me off to ordering with her again. If for my wedding cake, all I got was an "oops", then I feel she did not care about me as a repeat customer whatsoever. This, I could not get past. Bummer, really. Very disappointing.

She asked what I needed, so I explained and she met my needs by the due date. I picked up the the cake to the agreed date and time. The transportation of the cake wasn't a problem at all. I gotta give her all five stars because she surpassed my expectations. She's my new favorite baker in town. I recommend her so don't hesitate to giver her a try. Reyna if you are reading this, thank you so much, I loved the cake.

My favorite were the cookies. I researched before I went with Made with Extra Love. She is fairly priced compared to other bakers and bakers online like Etsy. She is a very talented baker. I believe she's doing this from home so far. I think it would be great to see her work at a bakery one day. I would definitely buy from her in the future.
