If you've been to Somi-somi, these are similar, if not better. But the true crowd pleaser is the Nutella Taiyaki. If you're a fan of Nutella, this is the one to get. The taiyaki (the fish-shaped waffle cone) is warm, golden, and crispy on the outside, while the Nutella filling inside is hot, rich, and gooey--melting with every bite. It's a little messy but totally worth it. Ok, it can get really messy if you're excited to eat it like I was lol. So make sure you grab enough napkins. You can also get them filled with different flavors, like custard, but come on, you know Nutella is where it's at! All in all, Mad For Cheesecake has something for every sweet tooth, from its drink offerings to pastries. Our eyes are always hungrier than we are, so we ordered a lot, but managed to try everything. We got the chicken katsu curry plate, gyudon bowl, spicy katsu sandwhich, shrimp katsu sandwhich, a strawberry sandwhich, a tuna onigiri, a taro tornado, and thai tea. We loved the shrimp katsu sandwhich, which was nicely crunchy with the slaw to balance it out, however it was deceitfully full, as the pieces of shrimp are cut in half to make it seem like there is twice the amount of shrimp, but when you bite into those nice meaty pieces, that's it. The gyudon was very umami and flavorful and had a nice space portion. The curry was flavorful and rich. I would skip the spicy katsu sandwhich, it was very bland. The drinks were great! The taro flavor is so strong in the taro tornado and the mochi bits are such a nice texture. The thai tea was a classic, always consistently delicious wherever we go.
