I'm going to keep this short and awesome as pretty much most of our time spent here was on the trail that leads you away from the park basically it was beautiful and full of just a mellow vibe that you so know you wanna hike about! Overall this trail wasn't too long and wasn't too short but it was a definitely a fun little adventure I'd do again!

The park has…read moretwo green areas with recreation facilities (a larger one in the NE corner and a smaller one in the SW) and a good bit of acreage in between for bikes. - Lots of bike trails - Spiffy skate bowl - 9-hole disc golf - Picnic pavilions - Various 'nature' areas for kids, including a cool-looking log forest - Another playground area in the SW corner (I didn't go there). - One port-a-john in the main area. There's another in the playground area. I don't think the city intends on installing more permanent restroom facilities. The main access off 18th street via Egypt Dr is still under construction but I imagine it will be complete soon. The park itself is complete.

Not sure what to think about that other than I don't much like it. Anyhoo, Summit is a small, highly manicured bit of green space that indeed sports two new tennis courts, which are immaculate. Parking is very limited, which reinforces the notion that this park is for locals only.

This is a great little neighborhood park on the corner of Summit and Promontory. Within walking…read moredistance from many of the homes on the Butte. We ventured up their after spotting their tennis courts. We've lucked out both times and have had the place to ourselves. There are two courts, nothing fancy, but certainly do the trick. Benches for spectators inside the court area, nice grassy area outside for those who need a little shade. Plus a working water fountain. Basketball hoop, not even half court size, but works for practicing free throws, or working on your jump shot. Nice grassy area which is fairly level. Seems like an ideal spot for a game of frisbee, or picnicking with the family. Only one side of the park is actually on Summit Drive, the far side opposite the tennis courts at the end of the far grassy area. So, safe enough for little kids if you aren't picnicking on that side of the park. Has it's own lot with maybe 3 or 4 spaces and plenty of street parking.

The only downfall is that the kids park doesn't have any immediate parking. The main parking lot is quite a walk from the kids park area. If you are coming here for the kids park .... the best bet is to park along one of the side streets adjacent to the park.

Hillside is a cool neighborhood park that serves dual purposes: half is a typical green park…read morefeaturing a playground, large green area and some wooded trail area. The other half is a dog park, specifically an off-leash dog park. A good chunk of the interior is fenced off for the Awbrey Butte Pump Station. This is a great place to let your dog run free. While the entire perimeter is fenced it is not secure in terms of canine escape. About three quarters is wood pole fencing with wire backing, with the side fronting Trenton just a wire fence. There are entrances all around the perimeter where you can just walk through, particularly from the parking lot on Trenton. So, I guess your dog needs to be one you can trust not to hightail it for the border. Inside, the dog area is mostly wooded undeveloped land with some trails, but there are also semi-paved crushed gravel trails, as there are running along a good portion of the outside of the dog area. You can enter the park from several locations: the main one is the parking lot on Trenton, but also from 12th Ave and from a couple of dead end streets on the east side. I didn't check out the other part of the park all that much except for walking the perimeter.

Miller's Landing was super busy when we went by. Quite alot of people enjoying the river and the…read moregrassy areas. We walked the trail up and over the bridge and down the other side of the park. They were hosting a river surfing competition on the rapids along with some vendors and food trucks on that side of the park. There was a live band performing in the park along side the food truck and the vendors. It was nice to be able to listen to the music while walking the river trail. The park is well maintained and well loved as quite alot of people were in the park when we visited. Beautiful park and a nice trail.

Riverbend Dog Park has long been my daughter's dog Ozzie's fave place to hang out with his…read moreplaymates. And he goes on a regular basis, like once a week, lucky guy! So when I finally got to visit her with my recent Dutch import, Gnoffie, I was dying to bring him out to meet other dogs and try this way of playing with others. Besides the fact that there are handy bags always ready, and the area is nicely fenced in, the warning signs asking for dog-friendly visitors only, the owners generally get together as well and exchange helpful advice. Always good to hear various solutions to a problem! And guess who had a blast? Gnoffie!! The only thing I miss is a shady spot for owners to be able to sit down. Hinthint ;0)
