We got a seat on the bleachers on the left side of the field and had a pretty good view of the game. The bathrooms here were cleaner than I expected which is a plus. The food was pretty good too. To drink I got a Sierra Mist because they were out of Dr. Pepper, boo. I liked my hotdog with sauerkraut, although they put a lot of sauerkraut on there. We also got a pretzel with cheese, garlic fries, cracker jacks and cotton candy. The pretzel had way too much salt on it and the cheese sauce was kinda flat. Happy I didn't order that, it was my Brother's. The garlic fries were good. There was a ton of strong garlic on it. A little too strong for me so I kinda ate around most of the garlic. The cotton candy was yummy. The game was fun. The Elks won 4-3 in extra innings. It was a good game.

There was limited shade on the park, just under each tree. The playground consisted of two baby swings and two big kid swings and three rock structures. No shade so bring sun screen in the summer I think the park went a bit of the way down with walking paths but we didn't venture far. Lots of parking. To enter you can't take a left into the park right after the light, so go down a bit and turn around.

On the other side of the highway there is a baseball diamond and some tennis courts. This is a vast improvement over the set up this area had 30 years ago. On this day we decided to explore and ride our bikes around on the trail and through the neighborhood after that. All the areas were in use and well maintained. There were many ways to access the park areas from the adjoining neighborhoods which I found refreshing. Plenty of parking and a tribute to our veterans. Originally, planned to be a the new Ray Johnson park, there is a memorial to our veterans in the park. What a great place to have a picnic or enjoy being outdoors.

Parking is tight, especially with other activities going on like pickleball and kids' sports, but many people park along the street, which isn't a bad walk. Highly recommend.

Some of these massive rocks clearly fell from its now 'ceiling' and you will have to maneuver around them and/or climb over. The cave is about 1,880 feet (.35 mile) long but we didn't venture that deep. It was clean, with no litter or graffiti and maintained.

The morning began with a light breakfast followed by a short, informative talk before heading outside. We were given maps (and loaner binoculars) showing birding locations around the property. Several bird experts joined the group and were incredibly helpful in pointing out species and answering questions. The grounds were beautiful, clean, and perfect for birding. As an added bonus, admission to the museum afterward was included, allowing us to explore at our own pace. I highly recommend both the museum and this event for anyone interested in nature or birding.
