Katrina and Jeri WERE RIGHT.
I just had a appointment today for a OOP inspection.
Strike #1.
When I booked the appointment over the phone, I was told more than once that I could get a ride home while they were doing the inspection. I told him that was not required.
I called back to ask for a later appointment, I was told ok and
again I could get a ride home. Owner is a salesman period. I declined. I think the owner asked 4 times in total - 3 I'm certain off). He might try to say it was courtesy or customer service. HA.
I thought I would give them a chance. Maybe the waiting room was not the best place to well...wait. I thought, its just a 1 1/2 - 2 hour inspection. I'm glad I decided to stay in the waiting room.
Read on because Katrina and Jeri are right on the money about this garage...THE MONEY THAT IS PICKED OUT OF YOUR POCKET.
After a bad experience with a garage, I'm pretty sure we all know the diff. between customer service and well,a customer being serviced.(Salesmen will service you in a diff. way)
Read about Strike 2 and strike 3 IF you are mildly interested or JUST HAND OVER YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.
If a garage try's to replace parts on your vehicle that do not need replacing, THEY ARE DISHONEST-pure and simple.
Some garage's and their owner/staff, are willing to take your hard earned money for a job not well done. They will try to replace parts on your vehicle that do not need replacing. Its all about the money with them. Oh, and for a particular garage owner/sales pc of &%$???,
YOU TRASH TALKING ABOUT A FORMER STAFF MEMBER with another guy? I was in the waiting room moron.
That staff member employed by the garage for 3 years before a moron came along is now jobless? Bad taste man. Also bad taste to say the kids of the former owner ran the garage into the ground.
Bad taste. ANYBODY READING , do I have anybody's attention?
Read on if your still interested.
Strike #2
If when a OUT OF PROVINCE inspection is underway and the mechanic informs the customer that a front break job is needed, please know your options. Options could be - A)Trust the garage and staff (Not in my case-should have ran) -B) Do not trust garage and staff. -C) Do a inspection before they do a inspection and or - D) take LOTS of pictures. 3 out of 4 isn't bad. Its the after taste. Damm they left a bad aftertaste. Not even a hour into and THEY wanted a hundred for work not completed because, yes I told them to stop. As far as I'm concerned, I couldn't stand it. They did not suggest. They told me I needed to have the front breaks replaced. When I pointed out that I knew there was still 25% to 30% life left on those front breaks, the
mechanic just walked away. Honestly, Lets say you are supposed to live to 75. Now, how about we cut 25 % of your life off and through it in the garbage. In certain cases with certain people, I would say its probably a good idea...
Also, bad or good for the environment?. This, just because the tires are off and its easier to make a buck right then! Have you no ETHICS IN YOUR BUISNESS PRACTICES?. Some will be fooled by some spouting out about safety (BULLCRAP). Go online if you don't believe me. Ask a trust worthy garage or a trustworthy mechanic.
Come on, lets just call a spade a spade. If a garage and or its staff treat their customers like personal banks, they have no integrity and are dishonest. They do not deserve to have paying customers. Sure makes all mechanics and garage owners look bad. What do you think?
STRIKE #3
Everyone SHOULD ASK for copies of the OOP criteria before you deal with garages that are possibly crooked. (my bad) Just know this, the criteria is very subjective and therefore it is ripe for crooked garages to exploit. The partial OOP inspection that was done my car was a joke. To those looking to get any work done on their vehicles.
Be smart. Do not deal with garages that are run by crooks and are not trustworthy.
You are OUTeeeed
To the owner/SALESMAN and the mechanic at the garage I was dealing with. You insulted me. First the about the breaks, second when you pointed to a issue with a gouge on one of the sidewalls (I est. approx. 1/4" L x 1/8" x 1/8"). Got pics and I will share. you know it was a ridiculous call. That is a nic at best that in no way effects the tire.
I pointed out that the nic was not there before and I had pictures. You suggested I could have hit a curb. Still, Its a no brainer. Its a nic at best and should not have been called. They then pointed out other wear areas on the tires.
I countered that there was plenty left on the tires and wear is normal. I mentioned the car just came over the mountains in snow. Do not trust the garage I dealt with. Document. I did. Two photo sets taken two different time's. Videos also taken just prior(under car and engine were of course also done). One set sent by email the day before, for insurance. Also a whole bunch were taken just before driving to get the OOP.
All doc. for next move.
