Dave's Veggies also happens to be the only place that my mother has been able to find "balloon plants" - a lovely plant that blooms with flowers in varying shades of blue and purple. We visited a couple weeks ago and didn't see any balloon plants out for sale in the yard, so my mother asked about them and one of the guys at the market went into one of the greenhouses in the back and found a couple for her. Honestly, the folks who run this operation are always so lovely and caring and they just want to provide great service. And they do! For me, I love buying as many veggies here as possible. It always depends on what they have available, of course, but I've never been disappointed with anything I've purchased. Quality is always high, and I love being able to support a local market like this. Highly recommend!

Purchased a compact tractor from them which when I bought it was not in the same condition as when…read moreI picked it up. Between purchasing and picking up someone had disconnected the pto shaft from the mower deck, turned on the pto and caused significant damage under the mower. They assured me they would fix the problem and treat the machine, "as it was a new one off the showroom". The delivery the mower, the pto shaft was unhooked, the mower deck had been welded, I reconnected and attempted to use the mower, it would not stay running. I delivered the mower back they said they'd take care of it, the next day called and said "3 mechanics looked over tractor and he used it for 3 hours mowing and it was fine and they dumped it back in my driveway. Funny thing is they didn't realize I took a picture of the hour meter and the mower ran much less than even an hour, the pto shaft had no shear pin in the mower deck so there's no way he even mowed. The mower ran a short time and shut off again. I ended up having to hire another shop to fix the problem. Needless to say after spending $6100.00 I will not return there period after this experience, and I've even a customer for many years.

When we needed to replace our patio [deck] door, Sean was very kind and patient and helped us choose a good one at a great price. We had Lowe's install it, and the price was fair and the work superb. I took one star off because our family has had 100% bad luck with their lumber department. I bought a sheet of plywood that I needed for a portable baby bed ["Pack and Play"] and had them cut it to fit. When I got it home the piece was off by more than 2". I had to hack at it with a handsaw to get it to fit in time for our infant granddaughter's arrival the next day. While it wasn't an "exhaustive study" I have relatives in 2 other states who've had their Lowe's cut lumber for them with the same result, and found their reputation uniformly bad with respect to getting it right. That said, we got fair pricing and great service purchasing the door, refrigerator, a dishwasher and a gas stove, so Lowes is still our go-to for most hardware and appliances. [We had to re-direct a gas line, so had our plumber install the stove.]

The Plantsman is a nursery specializing in native plants, with at least 200 varieties, most started…read morefrom their own native seeds or existing stock. They also carry some common garden plants too. Their grounds carry everything from foundational trees and shrubs to easy growing flowers to veggies and fruits. They also have sections organized by Deer Resistant, Veggies, Shade Shrubs, Sun, Partial Shade, Trees, Partial Shade Flowers, etc. It's easy to find your way around, though the staff will gladly help too. I found their nursery to be sizeable but not overwhelming. As someone who is newer to gardening I thought their signage is some of the best I have ever seen- on every plant variety they have a big sign with its common name, genius, zones, size, sun/shade needs, if the plant is native or not, and unique features, along with clear pricing. The signage was useful in making sure the plants would be happy at my home, though all the plants I looked at seemed fairly robust period. I wound up with some shade loving white wood asters, sun loving sunflowers, and brown-eyed susans. While I'm a newbie gardener I think more experienced gardeners would be happy here too given all the options and knowledge at hand. They do have a big commercial/pickup side and offer landscaping and hardscaping services for those who are interested. I thought car parking was easy but I was also visiting towards the end of the end of a day on a weekday.
