Sallys Homemade Onion Rings
Syd G.

My wife is from St Louis and anytime we're in town, I ask to stop for some great wings. We came in for an early lunch on Super Bowl Sunday and quite surprised to even get a table. As usual the service has always been very good. I only order the wings because they're so good. The sauce is thick but so tasty! Love the onion rings but seems like they were rationing today. This is a side and surprised when it's ordered separately and you only get a few. Either way great wings!

Ten Chicken Wings with original sauce.

A newer and bigger version of their Gravois road location we've gone to for years. Went on a Friday night and they were busy with 20 minute wait for a party of four. Understandable. Food was as good as we recall. Got the chix wings with original sauce, 12 in Brett's combo pizza, and house salad we shared. Wife got the pulled pork sandwich, which was new for us and it was good. Service was also very good. Younger gentleman for our server. Appeared newer and did a very nice job. Never had to wait very long for another beverage. Ambiance was as expected. They are a busy bar restaurant so high energy. Despite it all, we were able to have a conversation without having to yell back and forth. We'll be back.

Teriyaki wings and side of fries

Went for a late lunch on a Friday, and dining area was pretty full. Many tables had to go boxes on them but the customers were still talking. I had never been to this location before; years ago we had eaten at the Dorsett location. Our order was taken promptly and food didn't take too long to come out. I had skimmed their online menu and planned to order shark & salad lunch special, or shark tacos in the 'featured' section, but those were not on the menus we were given. Wings & Mahi tacos were messy but delicious.

Always an easy time getting in and food is always quick to serve. Great place to go with friends to share a meal and watch some sports. It's your classic sports bar, so there's plenty of TVs and fans on game days. If you are in the sports scene, it's an easy no frills kind of place with good food!

Signature Old Fashioned

After doing our duty down the street at the local funeral home, we needed a cocktail. Plus, we're retired and like day drinking. It was mid-afternoon so it was easy getting two stools at the bar. I enjoyed their Signature Old Fashioned and it was so good, I had two. I forget what my friend had, but she doubled up too. After going to a viewing, we had no desire to be following our low-carb diet and went for the carbs. Their house made onion rings were the bomb, I'll be visiting a Syberg near my home just to enjoy them again. Our other carb delight was the Potato Skins and they too, were a flavorful treat. The bartender on duty was skilled at her craft and was not only professional, but friendly, too. I rarely get to Arnold, but the next time I do, I'll be sure to stop by for a cocktail.

Broken bowl

I was so excited to eat here.......I was underwhelmed. Service was ok. Had a broken bowl and they replaced the whole dish without question. However, the bowl had an obvious crack and should've been thrown out before it was even served. The ambiance feels like a chain restaurant. Nothing to really talk about. Kind of feels like a crossover between Buffalo Wild Wings and Applebees. There are tv's to watch sports, and the kids get crayons and can color. The food. I had a really hard time finding something. I sat down thinking I would have a huge selection (because the menu was so thick) but it was pretty disappointing and very average. The menu felt like a hole in the wall bar menu. Boy did the pizza look good! But man oh man was it about as mediocre as a pizza could possibly be. I've had better box pizza than the one I ate there. It wasn't inedible, but it was certainly nothing to write home about. The Mac and cheese were absolutely delicious, but the toasted raviolis were overcooked. I had the fish and chips which were pretty average, no complaints there. My wife ordered a Ruben which was very very good. Everything about the Ruben was perfect. Super crisp sauerkraut. It was by far the best meal that was ordered. The biggest downside, all the best sounding meals were unable to be ordered until later in the day. You couldn't order "dinner" meals until 4-5 o'clock. Overall, for me personally, I probably won't go back. For others, this may be exactly what you're looking for. I had high expectations and was met with mediocrity. Did I expect too much? Maybe. Or did they not deliver enough? Also, maybe. I'm on the fence about a recommendation, so I would say, maybe give it a shot if you have nothing to lose.

Kids Menu
Jessica G.

Our experience was pretty good. Mo was our server, he was polite and efficient. We had a party of 8 and a baby, so had a wait for about 10 minutes, but that's to be expected, especially on a Friday. Everyone enjoyed their food. I loved the kid's menus, the kept all of kids of different ages engaged until their food came! The kids meals were all good, the toasted ravioli and the chicken wings were a nice change from the typical kid's meals. The kid's burgers and chicken strips were also enjoyed. I had the chicken wrap with buffalo chips and it was tasty. Overall, a good experience.

What really stood out to me was the service we received! I really appreciated not being rushed through our meal. The fact that they actually let you order your courses separately so they're not coming out on top of each other was refreshing. And even though it was a Friday night and there were others waiting to get in we weren't rushed to pay our bill but instead invited to take our time. We hadn't seen or heard much about their pizzas, but we were in the mood for one and decided to order the meat pizza. It was made in a brick oven and it was really tasty. Honestly there were so many toppings that we ended up asking for an extra cup of the marinara sauce to dip it in. The sauce is made in house, it was delicious and the waitress said it's the same one that's used with the spaghetti and meatballs. In regard to the pizza size even though they're considered personal pizzas it was definitely bigger than we were anticipating. I would say they're close to 11 to 12 inches in diameter. My husband and I each enjoyed two pieces with our salad and took the other half home with us. They are definitely big enough to share, especially if you're ordering an appetizer or a salad to go with it. Our group very much enjoyed the artichoke spinach dip. It came with bread that had been cooked in their brick oven and I love that the spinach was in bigger pieces. My husband, and I also shared the harvest salad which had butternut squash on it, candied pecans & goat cheese. It was really yummy. Others in our group enjoyed the salmon and the crispy chicken sandwich. I had recently seen on a local Jefferson County page that many people consider Twisted Tavern the best place for a good piece of cake specifically, their wedding cake . Truth is that was the primary reason why I suggested this restaurant to meet our friends at but sadly by the time we finished our meal and were ready to order dessert they had already sold out. We were told this does not usually happen. Overall, we found tasty fresh food made in house, great service and fair prices. I am already planning another visit to the Twisted Tavern (so I can try their wedding cake! ).

Spinach dip, onion rings, fried pickles, Brussel sprouts, and aside of spaghetti. The brussels sprouts were nicely fried, a little greasy. The fried pickles were lightly breaded, but very salty. The side of spaghetti was large enough to be a full serving. Wasn't overly impressed with the food, but the service here was top-notch.

They offer both their own menu and a separate Quesadilla Company menu, giving plenty of options to choose from. I ordered the Smashburger with fries, and it was very good. My husband had the chicken teriyaki stir-fry, which was excellent and full of flavor. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. There is a large parking lot, which makes visiting convenient. The interior has more of a bar atmosphere and could use a few updates, but it was comfortable. They took priority to regulars and outside area. My beef sandwich was mediocre at best. Fries were decent. The tomato for my husband's chicken sandwich had seemed not ripe at all. Beer selections were very limited unless all you wanted were AB products. I asked for various common decent whiskeys, scotch and popular craft beers and struck out on all. Finally asked for captain and coke and told the soda system was broken. This is I got nice ice water. Ordered garlic parm pretzel bites. They dumped so much table salt on them that they were white color. We even tried to wipe them off and it was impossible to eat. We then tried party ryes. They must have been out of party rye because we got two pieces of marble rye cut in 1/4 with the topping on them. Tasted good but don't say on your menu that it's on party rye bread. My recommendation is fire the kitchen manager and invest a few bucks on a decent liquor selection. All in all the quality is that of a lower level south city tavern struggling to keep the doors open rather than an Oakville " pub".

We got water and tea, didn't order drinks but that didn't change their service, I think we had three different servers/bartenders and they were all great. Order the wings! They won the Wing Ding last year with their Honey Habanero BBQ grilled wings. We liked them at the Wing Ding and we loved them here. Just the right amount of kick and grilled perfectly. I would order these every time. I didn't want a large meal so decided to go with a side garden salad and House Honey Fish appetizer. The salad was good, lettuces, shredded carrot, onion, tomato, and croutons. I got no cheeses and went with house Italian. It was fresh, the croutons good and enough so that I took half for lunch the following day. The House Honey Fish was fried fish on top of chimichurri slaw topped with a Hot Honey drizzle. It was very good, the crunch of the slaw, and the fish was really good. I would probably leave off the Hot Honey next time, only because I don't like too much sweet. It was approximately 8pm when we were finally served the Fried Chicken. Having been a cook in a restaurant I knew as soon as it arrived how it was going to taste. When you eat late like that you get what you get as far as fried chicken goes. This chicken was not "golden" as well prepared fried is. It was nasty tasting. Thinking I was too critical I had my wife try it and she couldn't eat the piece of crust that I gave her. The coating was a dark, dark brown. The mashed potatoes and beans were good. Moral of the story is eat earlier in the day if you are going to try the fried chicken. I will.
