He said he would be here at 9:00 am Monday and showed up 10 minutes early...when was the last time that happened? They expected the job to be a simple task of running a line from the electrical box through the wall and mounting a new outlet. Our home has the electrical box in the basement so it was far more involved and would require more time. They changed their schedule to accommodate our needs, rushed out to the warehouse, secured the needed supplies required and returned to complete the job within hours. It required a new breaker, 90' of new wiring, new conduit for the outdoor runs and a few boxes. When they finished the work looked like it was installed when the house was built. They did a spectacular job, cleaned things up after done and left the place cleaner then upon their arrival. All work was completed far beyond my expectations (and I am very particular) as well as finished at a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend DSA for any electrical needs, personal or business. I am completely satisfied and so happy with their work and now I have an electrician for my future needs. We chose him because of how clearly he talked the details, from paint chemistry for a salt air climate to the right way to replace those old cedar shingles. He also had a new kitchen window created from scratch to match the ones in the rest of the old house. Over the 3 - 4 week project, Omar and his crew invariably left the place immaculate, no clutter, no mess. The answer to nearly ever request was "Yes, we can do that." While they are not cheap, the tab for all of the extras we asked for was fair. And we have no doubt that the work will hold up very well. When you think about how valuable your home is, why would you not hire the best in the business to fix whatever is wrong with it? The property will appreciate, and pay you back 10X over.

Sarah was very professional rescheduled a crew for Wednesday. Of course it was pouring when they arrived but the wind was not a factor. They removed the 28 panels but had to leave the roof mounts in. If removed I would have leaks all over my 2nd story of my house. Daddario roofing is scheduled for Monday to remove the roof and again Sarah came through. Sarah had a team out Friday morning to remove the roof mounts and we are good to go. I recently completed a solar system installation with 18 panels and 2 batteries. Our original goal…read more(as we communicated to the company multiple times) was to fully disconnect from PG&E and rely on our backup generator for power during lengthy poor weather time periods. The initial installation went smoothly, but everything since then has been disappointing & frustrating. The county permitting process was delayed by nearly 8 weeks because the solar installation was not up to code. When they sent out a team to fix the problem, they ordered the wrong insufficient materials because they somehow didn't know the size of the array that they had installed weeks earlier. It eventually passed the county permitting inspection. Then there were problems with functionality during a power outage. During the sales process we voiced multiple concerns around having sufficient battery capacity to sustain multiple days of poor weather. We spent a lot of time & money to have our generator permitted based on this conversation. We were told that our standby generator could be used to recharge the batteries. When a lengthy PG&E outage coupled with bad weather in early January caused our batteries to drain to zero, with no generator charging, I contacted their service department email yet it took them 15 days to respond. They told me that the batteries can never be recharged with the generator and insisted that the prior conversations never occurred. We never would have spent $$$$ on generator permitting if we were told that it was impossible to charge the batteries via the generator. Overall, a very disappointing and experience. While the solar array works fine during good weather, that's not the primary reason why we installed the system. Poor service, dishonesty and incompetence are unaccetpable. I can't recommend working with a company that behaves in this fashion.

At times it can be a challenge to secure dependable services when living in the unincorporated region of Carmel Valley - let alone qualified professionals. Seth, (Owner and Operator) of Switched Electric, was an exceptional find. After recently moving into an older home, built in 1958, we began to renovate portions of the house. We discovered there must have been quite a bit of DIY work done previously since there was somewhat of a disregard for standard construction or electrical processes. Seth was referred to us by another licensed electrician who was unable to service us at the time but stated "he is even a better electrician than I am." Seth picked up our call within the first two rings, quickly scheduled us for an appointment and arrived a couple of days later as planned. He was punctual, pleasant, knowledgeable, and patient. He listened to our concerns, conducted his own assessment and provided suggested solutions to meet all the problems. Replacement of outside lighting/motion detectors, installation of high-end inside lighting, replacement of whole house receptacles, switches and cover plates, GFCI installed devices, outside weatherproof covers/outlets, and any electrical junction boxes where needed. Some unexpected issues surfaced once he was able to access inside the walls and without hesitation provided cost-effective solutions. Seth tested every switch and outlet in the entire home and corrected the entire electrical panel to match the circuits correctly - on his own accord! He was here three days working on multiple tasks and always arrived on time and even provided notification when he was 20 minutes from arriving. Despite our multiple interruptions of questions or casual conversations - Seth was all smiles and happily provided the interaction. He was most definitely detailed in his approach and attentive to our needs. It was such a refreshing experience to have an honest, down-to-earth and masterful electrician with a personality to match. As far as cost - lets be real - hiring a master electrician can be expensive but what's more expensive is when the electrical jobs are done incorrectly and the long-term result of that can be much more costly! Seth was not the cheapest and I would venture to guess, probably not the most expensive either. My wife and I were extremely pleased and felt confident about the quality of his work and the cost for his time was well worth it. When it comes to choosing an electrical contractor, selecting the lowest bid does not always mean you are saving money. Seth was absolutely spectacular and we will use him for all electrical needs moving forward. read more

Seth is our go to electrician, he is great! He has installed outlets, ceiling fixtures in-wall speakers and more. He always goes the extra mile as well. When installing our tv height outlets in the living area, he went ahead and reinforced the space behind the sheetrock with extra studs to accommodate the TV arm and heavy TV. Those little things make such a big difference. He is also very careful with your home, covering and protecting the work area. Seth replaced an antique (and weird) fuse-box/circuit panel dating from the 50s with a 200 amp panel. PG&E is seriously backed up, and what seemed like it should be a quick job turned into a months-long saga. Seth pulled the permits, shepherded the job through the various obstacles, and was a good communicator with PG&E and myself through the whole ordeal. They discussed the issue I was having with me and suggested I take a few steps to see if I could fix the issue myself and if those steps didn't work, then they'd come out and work on. Their advice over the phone was really helpful and ultimately fixed the issue I was having. They even followed up with a phone call a week later to see how things went. This level of customer care is practically unheard of in the construction industry these days.
