I had an electric plug that needed to be replaced right away. Left messages for two other electricians. No one returned my calls. I read Seth's reviews and called him right away. Not only did he answer the phone, he was able to fit me in that day. We are now scheduling Seth to change all of our plugs throughout our home. Seth is very pleasant and professional. He also likes big dogs. Switched Electric will be my first call if I have an electrical problem. read more

I've used Seth / Switched Electric in 2013, and again in 2024. Seth has always responded promptly, provided good estimates, and did high quality work quickly. My last repairs were border-line emergency, as the issue was discovered during roof repair, and Seth was able to stop by and perform the work the same day, which I greatly appreciated. read more

After unfortunately getting stood up by another local electrician, I reached out and hopes of being able to set up something for tomorrow. I was contacted almost immediately he asked me if I had an iphone, which I do and said we could FaceTime and maybe he could talk me through my issue. Well I have never facetimed, but figured it out fast called him and sure enough he talked me through the problem in about 10 minutes. It was about 7:00 at night, and he couldn't work tomorrow because he was about to celebrate his wedding anniversary! Take notes local businesses, this is how it's done! This is the Modesto I remember. Couldn't ask for more, we have other projects (one kind of major) coming up and you better believe I'm going to call him. Thank you!! read more

SWITCHED electric performed an outlet install and prepared two elctrical cords for us. We were very unhappy with service for a number of reasons: 1st. The cords had the incorrect plug installed for the machine, so had to be taken back to be replaced. 2. The actual job and the fix took several weeks in total To schedule and complete. 3. We were charged $1,300 in total- turns out you can buy the cords we needed for about $100 on Amazon/Lowes etc. we were massively overcharged for a job that was not even completed correctly. 4. after paying a deposit, and work completed, I received a final bill. This bill was several hundred $ mofe that the guaranteed quote. I had to contact the owner to have him correct it before paying- and after all the other issues this truly felt like a bait and switch. 5. owner asked for payment on the day of. This felt very unprofessional as this is a commercial job and the terms of the quote were 30 days. Overall- the job was handled carelessly, without regard for time and included several mistakes, as well as the fact that we were massively overcharged. I have a friend who is an electrican and he said that $1,300 was a massive overcharge for this job, and the circuit work that was done took 20 mins or less. At the time I assumed the materials for the cords were the expensive aspect- but in retrospecwe were just ripped off. Cannot recommend this business and I M disappointed as we were hoping to partner with this company long term. read more

I contacted Seth to inquire about a main panel upgrade, as our home had 100 amp panel and we wanted to move to 200. Seth was prompt and professional in understanding the issue, delivering a quote, and completing the work (which involved moving the panel from the back of the house to the side of the house). The reason for my 3-star review has been the radio silence which has followed. He was supposed to come back and label the circuits, and I wanted to have some additional work done replacing outlets outside. Calls and texts to his phone have not been returned, and I even went as far as emailing the company email asking if they were still in business, with no response. What's most troubling is seeing a review from a couple of days ago! I am befuddled as to why we are being ignored. read more

Quick to respond. Honest. Has a system set up in his phone that guarantees you are getting same quote as everyone else. On the spot! dependable. Reasonable quotes. I will use him every time I need electrical work. Thank you Seth ... you are awesome!! read more

I am amending a previous negative review. Seth was slow in getting an estimate to me, and he apologized for the delay due to personal reasons, I get it, we all get to be human from time to time. Seth then provided the estimate and we proceeded with the work. Seth's work is first rate. He communicated each day about arrival time and what he would be working on. Seth is very professional, and also a very nice person. I would recommend him to anyone for electrical work. Prices are very fair. read more

Switched Electric-It's refreshing to deal with honest and straightforward people these days and Seth of Switched Electric is one of those guys. I had Seth install and wire some upgraded kitchen lighting. He is very professional and well educated in his trade. Great communication skills. He went over all my questions and concerns. Parts and labor were a fair price. I would definitely recommend him for any of your electrician needs. read more

Prompt. Professional. Reasonably priced. We had an urgent electrical issue that Seth came out and fixed on the SAME DAY! We were so pleased that we scheduled with him to come back and install some ceiling fans and lights for us. Seth works with a professional's attention to detail reminiscent of old-time craftsmen, down to erasing teeny tiny pencil marks on the vaulted ceiling. He even took time to explain the features and use of the new fan and lights! The work Seth completed has definitely made our home light and bright, and at a reasonable rate. Seth at Switched Electric did a great job at cleaning up a sloppy install of an electrical panel I had done from another contractor. Seth was able to remove all the breakers and redo the wiring very neatly. He also installed upgraded afci/gfci breakers at the same time. The before & after picture says it all! Seth showed respect wearing a mask and answered all my questions. I already have more work planned with him. Highly Recommended! read more

Switched Electric - Seth did a fantastic job cleaning up a previous contractors sloppy work! - Electricians Near Me - Monterey, California

Initial response was timely. I was exited to get a text within an hour of requesting a repair. I was then quoted the hourly rate and I agreed. After that, I was ghosted. I even asked if they were still there after a few hours of no response. Two days later I asked if I should move on to another electrician, still no response. I moved on and already had repairs done by Seidel electrical. Good luck if you get "lucky" enough to have this company do your repairs. read more

I was so impressed with the services received, the overall quality of work and experience was top notch. Seth is part electrician, part angel; he went above and beyond to ensure my new apartment was safe and inhabitable, after I ran into some unpleasant surprises. Pricing was very reasonable. Seth is hands down the best electrician here in the Valley. Needed some outlets to be grounded. No one else would take this job because it was either too much work or too painful to deal with due to the house being old and outlets were difficult to get through. I would either get ghosted or flat out be told they would not do the job by others. But Seth came through and handled this with ease. He's very responsive and does his best to work with your schedule. Keep in mind he's just one guy, so be reasonable with time. Switched electric is highly recommended. read more

SETH IS SO GREAT! A fixed light fixture seriously made my day (not to mention brightened up my entire kitchen. I was basically cooking in the dark for the past few months) He's super responsive, patient, explains things in ways you can understand. Seth came out within 2 hours of reaching out. Fix the problem quickly and now we have our Christmas lights working. Thank you!

Seth at Switched Electrics is my new go to electrician. I called and immediately got an actual human (Seth) on the phone and not a voice message. Before sending anyone out and charging a service fee, we did some quick trouble-shooting over the phone to which we found the problem. He didn't have to do that and in fact, the 2 other electricians I previously called didn't do this. He saved me some money with his helpful and generous nature and I really appreciated this. For all my future electrical needs, Seth and Switched Electric will be my first choice and first call. Honesty and helpfulness are two qualities I value and Switched Electric provided both in spades. Thanks again! SD read more

Seth is a true professional and takes pride in the work he performs as is evident in the finished project. I couldn't help but overhear the positive comments and admiration in the voice of the inspector who came out to inspect his work. For the record, he replaced the main electrical service panel, circuit breakers, 37 receptacles and other complex electrical equipment/wiring in my home built in 1957. He was up on the roof, under the house, just about everywhere there was wiring lol! Seth is trustworthy, keeps his word and someone I will use/recommend for all future electrical needs. Very professional and super informative. Got our power back on really fast. Would definitely hire again.

Seth and his team were great. They were fast, fairly priced, and professional. I'm not a dumb person (?) but I'm an idiot when it comes to anything that goes bzzzz. You could explain it to my face and I still would have no idea how lights actually turn on. But I never felt any judgement; on the contrary, Seth and his crew kept us well informed and explained everything in a respectful and kind way. I cannot recommend them more highly. My husband (not one for words of praise) says "friendly and competent" - from him, that's like, 11 out of 10. read more
