    The Clubhouse!
 Amazing sandwich!
    Bradford P.

I have been driving by Swiss 2 Go for some time, and had heard good things about the food. I was in the area to grab some lunch today, and as my intended destination was closed, I decided this was my "Swiss Moment." This is a cozy little cafe, with a warm friendly vibe. As I was getting something to go, I went directly to the counter to look at the menu and order. The first thing I have to say is that this is not a spot for a quick, light lunch. The portions are large, and the prices are a touch on the high side. I was little put off by the price, but I was hungry and curious, a dangerous combination for me. I ended up ordering the Clubhouse, which appealed to me. My sandwich was ready quickly, and I rolled back to work. The first sign of good things to come was that they had to fasten the clamshell package shut with an elastic band, and the sandwich was so big. My co-workers were chiding me for having paid $17 for a sandwich, but as I got into it, I was convinced it was worth the money. Fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced for flavour, and most satisfying. The fresh, house made Pretzel bun was exquisite, and all of the elements were delicious. Will this become a regular stop for me? Not likely, as the price is outside my day to day lunch budget, but I will be back for a treat, and to try the amazing cheesecakes, which seem to be very popular here.

Finally got out to Swiss 2 Go for a lunch date with hubs a few months back. Hubs and I split 2 sandwiches - Spring Lite & Italian Bride. We really could have shared 1 - they were huge! And of course we had to share a teacup cheesecake since their pictures are what put Swiss 2 Go on our must visit list. Hours here are limited - mostly a lunch spot - so be sure to check for current schedule online or via phone before coming to check them out. The sandwiches were heart and HUGE. The cheesecake was second to none. I definitely want to come back to try more of their menu but this isn't a place I'll be bringing the kids to. 2 sandwiches and a cheesecake teacup later was around the $50 mark. So I definitely want to be able to enjoy my meal, take my time, and just relax.

SWISS TO GO is not your typical cafe place. Popular for its teapot cheesecakes which is a real treat for the tastebuds. Apart from being a delicate and yummy dessert it is clearly a work of art, very insta-worthy. They also have the best sandwiches that you absolutely must try! The homemade pretzel buns are soft, and ingredients are the freshest. The cafe itself is complete adorable with lot of cute little accents made and conceptualized by the hardworking and very creative Drita.

Swiss 2 Go has been on my YEG bucket list for ages. Who cannot resist their gorgeous looking cheesecake desserts!? We arrived as a group of 8 on Saturday for my moms birthday at about noon. They don't take reservations so this was pretty ambitious! Thankfully we were able to find a table for all of us. We wouldn't have been able to do so if we arrived later, as the cafe quickly filled up. In order to secure our cheesecake orders, we called in the morning to see what the flavors they had and put them on hold. I feel like this process could be easier for the customer and staff if the flavors were posted online. Maybe instead of new flavors everyday they could change them weekly? Or perhaps post the daily flavors to Instagram & Facebook? In addition to the famous cheesecakes we ordered their sandwiches and soups. I have to say, this was my favorite part of the whole meal. While the cheesecakes were good and very Instagram worthy... the flavor was just okay. Their sandwiches on the other hand are made with a freshly baked pretzel bun. These were by far the best part of the meal... and all 8 of us could agree on that! Come for the cheesecake and keep coming back for the sandwiches.

I haven't been to Swiss 2 GO since they packed their bags up from the west side and relocated back to Beverly. I have a couple friends that absolutely adore this place and make the trek out to this part of town (even though they live on opposite ends of the city). It's close to Million Thai and A Yah Mi Deh. The inside is very charming and homey. Lots of character to it. The menu is a one pager but you might have a tough time deciding like we did. Service is very friendly and genuine. It's a very mom and pop shop. - Chicken zone ($12.99 large) and Italian bride ($12.99 large) - both sandwiches were great, fresh and stuffed to the brim. The homemade pretzel sandwich had a great bite to it. It is quite dense and chewy so be prepared for that. The Swiss flags are a cute touch. You also get a tiny piece of chocolate with your sandwich. If you're a sandwich lover, definitely worth the trek out.

****sandwiches prices went way up. Ordered by phone to go a small Italian bride and Matterhorn and it was 30 some bucks. Looked online to find menu prices used to be 7.99 now they must be over $15. Did not get a combo or drinks. The ingredients are delicious but it's mostly bread and veggies they look busy enough maybe I got ripped off because I ordered on the phone? I remember thinking almost $40 for two sandwiches?? Oh and they don't have loyalty cards anymore.

    Smoked salmon? Hell yeah.

I've been meaning to come here for a very long time, and I'm glad I did. To be honest, I hadn't gone because I had a few reservations. It was on the east end, and the store looks tiny. I was worried that it would be too busy to get decent service, and I worried that we'd have a hard time getting a table. But I really, REALLY had to try one of those cheesecakes. Luckily neither of my concerns were an issue. Service was good and super polite in spite of how busy they were. Now....about the cheesecake. It's smaller than it looks in the photo, it actually is tea cup sized, but it's plenty enough cheesecake for anyone. They are worth every cent. My friends ordered sandwiches too, and they looked delicious, but I wouldn't have been able to eat both. Maybe next time, I'll have the cheesecake a take a sandwich to go. Go. Try it. I think everyone in the city should have at least one in their lifetime.

This is a very cute n cozy coffee shop inside. I had to try the famous cheesecake tea cups! I tried the snickers one and it did not disappoint. They are definitely big enough to share but let's be honest you won't want to. They have lots of lattes and cappuccinos to keep you warm. I didn't try the sandwiches but I do know they bake their bread in house. Be warned that these specialty cakes are a little pricey but they were delicious and fun for a date night or a coffee catch up with friends. They can accommodate a few people while social distancing or they can make it to go. I forgot we also got a Lindor chocolate with our lattes which made it a little extra special. You'll feel like a queen at this Tea Party hot spot!

Swiss 2 Go is a really awesome, locally run and owned sandwich shop. Their shop in Beverly is in a little stripmall across the street from the Beverly Medical Clinic. I came here for lunch the other day and got the Fleisch Salat sandwich. It had Bavarian meat loaf, which was essentially diced pieces of meat, pickles, Emmental cheese (Swiss of course), dill pickles, purple onions, and a hard boiled egg. It was served on a delicious pretzel bun. The sandwich was salty, sweet, tangy, and just rich enough not to order two (unless you're crazy and live on the edge like that). On the sandwich there's a cute little toothpick with the Swiss flag. Adorable, right? Take it out and have your sandwich? No. I learned the hard way that toothpick sits in a little metal stand that helps hold the sandwich together. I took my out and it was super messy to eat. Still delicious but super messy. The Swiss decorations, and great food is reason enough to go here, but the staff are really friendly as well. Outside of sandwiches (including vegetarian options) there are soups, salads, and desserts. The also have coffee and espresso beverages, as well as sodas and juices. Another great lunch spot on Alberta Ave. Swiss 2 Go is definitely worth checking out.

Drita is unbelievable. She is so sweet and caring and it shows in her service and quality. The cheesecakes were absolutely stunning, they are works of art and tasted amazing!! Every little detail of them blew me away. Must I say chocolate plates for the tea cup cheesecakes?! She is such a warm, inviting person who makes you feel welcome immediately. The pretzels were also fabulous. I can't wait to go back here!!! She was unbelievable with our two young girls and made them so welcomed. I just am in awe. I wish I got a better photo but we had some very excited little hands!

5 stars for Swiss 2 Go! A delightful experience all around. Ample parking right in front. Inside is quaint, kitschy, homey, and comfortable. The food is AMAZING. I've only been here once but I will be going back many times. We had the Italian bride sandwich size large and shared by two people. The pretzel bun is astonishingly good. Crispy and soft with just the right amount of salt. We also had a wurst salad that was so good we oohed and ahhed aloud. There are lattes and cappuccinos and many beautiful desserts.

    Are these cheesecakes not amazing?!!!

PALS!!! I have been a huge fan since their opening day in 2022 and it's about time that I finally…read morewrite about them! Part of the venerable Strathcona restaurant monopoly of The Next Act (the OG), Meat (the meaty one), Pip (the brunchy one), and Marlo (the taco one), Pals holds their own as the sandwich one. This five-restaurant stronghold wouldn't work if each and every one of them wasn't so dang good. But they are. Pals showed up on the scene after Pip moved across the street and there was enough room in the building to fit a delightful little sandwich shop in there as well. Pals to the left and Pip to the right - and one (beautiful) shared washroom downstairs for both. It's a pretty harmonious arrangement as far as I can tell! Pals might be a small little sandwich guy but it boasts a beautiful outdoor patio in the summertime that just about doubles the space. Named Favourite Handheld on the Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2024 list and most recently awarded Best Sandwich 2025 in EDify Magazine, you'll also find them on the Worldwide Faves section of this very website. The interior is somewhat small but very bright and fresh. Casual light wood high-tops, counter seating, a few bench seats near the back, and the aforementioned patio. You'll also note pops of their signature yellow, especially on their unmistakable brick facade outside. The restaurant feels breezy and gives off a comfortable vibe that makes you want to "stop in to grab a quick sandwich." And maybe people-watch out the window for a few minutes. The staff is also super friendly which makes you feel like you're hanging out with your pals. (Ha! See what I did there?) Situated at a table on a Saturday evening, I was looking for the maximum Pals experience! Pals is all about the drinks and offers an impressive array of cocktails and beer, especially for such a small shop. The Winter Sangria sounded like a seasonally appropriate delight while their Caesar made with pepperoncini brine is an ideal compliment to their use of pepperoncini elsewhere on the menu. On this visit I opted for the Strathcona Sling (Gin, cherry liqueurs, orange & pineapple juice, bitters - $15.00) which not only sounded delicious but also might be the signature beverage of the entire neighbourhood. This drink sounds like it might be pretty sweet but I didn't find that about it. It's very refreshing and the grown-up flavours from the gin and bitters hold their own. What sounds like a kid's shirley temple actually tastes quite adult. This would absolutely be the quintessential patio beverage on a hot summer day during the Fringe - a cocktail that lives up to it's name. The Pals food menu is an extravaganza of sandwiches! There are fourteen different sandwiches in two categories; made hot or served fresh. There's usually a feature sandwich as well. Be prepared for sandwiches like you've never seen them before! But the snacks, soups, and salads are incredible as well and the quality certainly doesn't stop with the sandwiches alone. In an effort to dig into this part of the menu a bit more I thought it prudent to order the Soup & Salad Combo (Choice of soup & salad with house focaccia - $19.00). A great option if maybe you don't want a sandwich. Pals usually has two different soups and salads on the go so you're able to customize this dish with whatever combo you like. I chose the House Soup (dill pickle & spicy pepperoncini) and The Other House Salad (iceberg lettuce, tomato, green onion, blue cheese, bacon, buttermilk ranch). Let's start with the soup. How unique!! You've never tasted a zingy little bowl of soup like this before! I don't know about you, but I love a dill pickle soup very much (maybe it's my Eastern European ancestry) but the addition of pepperoncini totally changes the game. This soup packs a punch but in the most interesting and delicious way. And then the salad! I ordered this one because it sounded like a wedge salad (one of my favourites) without the wedge. A deconstructed wedge salad, if you will. And boy did it deliver! The flavours of tomato and bacon together are so classic and the generous chunks of crumbled blue cheese were perfection. I loved how well-dressed everything was - not a dry leaf in the house. A salad may sound like a boring thing to order but certainly not in this case. Let's not forget the focaccia which cannot be treated as an afterthought because it was incredible. This bread was impossibly light while still possessing the unctuous and oily quality that you want from a focaccia. The crust was impossibly crispy and dusted in salt. What a dream! Honestly, I know that you need to order a sandwich... But maybe you don't? I'm going to have an existential crisis about this. But yes, I obviously ordered a sandwich. This might be an unpopular opinion but I highly favour the "served fresh" sandwiches at Pals by a lot. The BLT is the best in the entire city, I swear. The Burrata is completely insane - I've never seen a stack of prosciutto so high.

It's the season for anything apples, so I was happy to find a caramel apple cronut & went for a classic grick middle (as per their website & one of my favs - Fried Egg, Bacon, Rosemary Aioli, Smoked Cheddah, Tomato Jam, Arugula). Sadly with a cane & a reuseable bag, I couldn't take a coffee to go (stair logistics are hard enough) but it's always a great cup when I do have a free hand. Oh, I should mention in case I've never did in previous reviews, neither of these food options are something one wants to eat when trying to look presentable. As it's deliciously messy! There's a few bar seats at this location but it's best to take your food to go. At this particular location (there's 4 locations now!) there's no accessible entrance (nor exit). Kind of baffles my mind on why they didn't build a ramp with the newer set of stairs at the exit door. I even made the comment that it's really too bad they don't use the order window on the side (like they did in the pandemic), for us that need to avoid the challenge of stairs. There's also no railings on the steps, so be sure footed in wet & winter conditions (even if you're not disabled). So as much as I love the food & coffee at Farrow, I have to leave it as it's a place I'm going to only on a randomly decent mobility day for the knees & legs.
