We went outside where the kids played and I was excited to see who he'd be with all day. Mind you, this was to be his first time ever being away from me. His teacher was young, and looked super uninterested in talking. She said hi with what I couldn't even consider a smile, and didn't say much to my son. At drop off his first day the morning teacher didn't say much either. She didn't really offer any assistance when I was trying to leave and my son was visibly scared and upset. This went on for the weeks he was there. I did not like the staff member who hung out with the kids until his teacher showed up. She said good morning and that's about it. Towards the end I think she could tell I was irritated and offered my son things to keep him occupied while I left. My overall feel was these "teachers" don't like being there. I did not like this environment. When The lighthouse opened we made the switch and it was night and day! My son was SO EXCITED for daycare because the staff is AMAZING! I got constant updates, I don't have to ask for his meals to be updated through the day, he was engaged, the teachers are engaged and happier. I would never suggest Stepping stone to anyone.

I selected one, and the next communication I got was that the class had been changed to a date and time that was not one of original options. She asked (by text) if that date/time would work. I told her not really but we would try to make it when possible. She responded with great, look forward to having your child in our class. It made me feel like they never really cared what was convenient, as long as they got our money. The other issues have been with Angela, the receptionist. They have been minor and I tend to ignore her but she can be rude and not welcoming. She made my child feel unwelcome once and that bothers me more than her being rude to just me.

The chant is " I can do it"! If you are a die hard swim mom who thinks your kid is going to the Olympics because you are pushing them, please don't join this club. These kids are superstars in their own right. At the end of the season they swim a mile . Yes everyone, because at the end of the season even the most novice swimmer can!And they all get a trophy for it. There is a wonderful end of season banquet where all kids will be recognized. The Dolphins participate in regional and state swim meets. Some kids go one to get college swim scholarships.

My wife found and we tried numerous places over a couple years. We were not happy with any and ran into numerous problems. My wife found Defence Lab and we decided to do their trial. We were hooked immediately. From the moment we started, we could feel the difference. When we went to classes, we could really see the care that was out into each class. Each person that leads a class does a great job of really treating everyone well and with respect but we really appreciate how they don't just treat the kids like kids but expect them to have manners, responsibility, discipline and generally behave well. But they do it in such a great way that it isn't overbearing or rough, they it in a way that the kids can grow. I think it is a real testament that you can see how much the various students progress over time. Everyone that sticks with it really improves but not just in martial arts or in being able to protect themselves but also as a person. We have seen many kids who have really been growing out of their shells and it is very nice to see. Lastly, this is like a big family. There's quite a few people going here but it is always friendly. You can't help but make friends. It is a very healthy environment, even if you aren't the one taking the classes, I genuinely feel you benefit by just coming here. I won't name names (the owners know who they are), It's like any other failing company: It begins from the top down. Take a good hard look beyond the facade and a couple positive reviews on this platform. Do you really trust three or four reviews in several years for your child anyway? You may like what you see on the surface but likely because there is a significant lack of decent programs in this area. Older children may not be as affected but the 1-3 age group is undeniably neglected. The "owner" who seems to carry this flag in some altruistic manner is not only rude, but a complete flop. Never present in almost a year we have only met upper management twice. If there was ever an issue to discuss, good luck addressing it. Yes. These facilities are for sale and probably will be sold to a different management group for the same reason they couldn't keep staff there. We quickly began to feel uncomfortable leaving our child here. I care VERY little of a company's "difficulties", especially if it is to keep staff employed. Staffing isn't staffing when it comes to the well being of your child. To them this means employees. To you this means leaving your child with a stranger. If this is in the 1-3 age group who can't speak for themselves I take this very seriously. A stranger to you, and a stranger to your child. This happened all too often. Most of the permanent teachers are decent, who just so happened to call in sick more often than not. Likely because of a lack of resources and poor management. Personally, I don't give a ---- about excuses, Especially when it comes to my children. At this age group, when I leave my child in the care of someone else, I expect them to be taken care of by the same people each and every day, or at least individuals they know so that they (and we) feel safe and comfortable. This is why we're no longer there. It is your child that stays here, not you. We experienced teachers (subs) who not only left us feeling uncomfortable, but were downright reportable. Never under any circumstances should a day care operate in the manner that they have. Particularly worse than that, the management staff (if you can find them) is not capable of managing this. If any staff remains by the time they finish treating everyone like garbage, your child won't see yet another stranger. As a customer you are a number and god willing you will get help that you may seek with the buyout. Good luck to them in the future, though I don't really mean that. If good intentions are what they seek, they wouldn't have neglected their business, especially a business where the well being of our sons and daughters are at stake. A very holier than thou attitude by management and a reason most staff is jumping ship. Customer beware.

It is so hard to leave your baby all day while you head to work, but the teachers in the infant room are so loving to all the babies that it has made it much easier on me. He smiles when he hears them and the other babies and it makes me so happy to know that he is somewhere safe and well cared for all day. They are usually at capacity though, so if you are interested in this daycare, you better get on the list as soon as you find out your pregnant. You won't regret it though. I seriously cannot say enough about how wonderful they are.
