This YMCA has a lot to offer: two pools, plenty of decent equipment and classes. But I can't get over how filthy the men's locker room is. I brought this up to the front desk a month ago and then to a manager but nothing has changed. I am looking into another gym because this is unacceptable. It's funny because with all the religious paraphernalia at the gym you would think that Cleanliness is Next to Godliness. It clearly isn't.

Co-Ed Sauna room overlooking indoor whirlpool and kiddie pool.

This is my home gym. Newly renovated basketball court. Great for families, especially since they have indoor and outdoor pools. Frankly, it's great for all ages. I primarily appreciate for the YMCA for the purposes of inclusion. All walls of life are welcomed with open arms. Highly recommend!

    You guys rock!!!

I came in with a specific goal - to get in shape for graduation day for 2 of my sons who were finishing Infantry Basic Training at Ft Benning...I had no idea I was about to start training with Manny - a retired Marine! I must say, I did not enter the door as a Rock Star :) I had let myself go (stress and excuses fueling that for sure) and in less than 2 months I was more fit, lean and stronger than I had been in 20 years, back in my "skinny jeans" too! I can't say enough about what I have achieved training with Manny. He will inspire you to go farther than you ever thought you could with your fitness goals. He knows how to skillfully balance pushing you, encouraging you and keeping you accountable. He has endless combinations of exercises and no session is ever the same. Manny is also incredibly insightful at assessing where you are at and then mapping out a personalized plan for you to achieve success. He goes above and beyond to get you to your fitness goals - while he and his staff create a welcoming team atmosphere that will motivate you to keep coming back! In addition to training with Manny - I have also been doing Boot Camp and I LOVE IT! The staff create an amazing fun/team environment and everyone is so friendly - you actually enjoy getting in shape and pushing yourself farther than you thought you could. This is not a same old chain gym - this is your new personalized and supportive fitness team!

There are tons of really nice treadmills, some with a running track that is curved and more rugged like you are running outdoors on a trail. The bikes are great, very updated. I do think the weights machines are outdated and need to be replaced. The TRX area has some classes. They also have several rooms with Pilates reformers, barre classes, as well as yoga, and circuit training. There are fancy stretching machines and massage chairs! Bonus! The sauna and steam room are separate sexes located in the locker rooms for privacy. The showers have good quality hair products and body wash. They even have razors and q-tips as well as cotton wipes. Hair dryers are available too. The pool area is really like a resort it is so nice. Plenty of loungers to relax on and good shade spots. This gym has all the beautiful people haha. Everyone is in like Lulu-lemon and dress to impress. Fun but a little intimidating when you wear old gym closes. They also have pickleball courts and basketball. You can take a pickleball lesson and sign up to play with others when comfortable. Lastly there is a spa and hair salon as well as a food center with high quality ingredients. This place is really really nice. I have never seen a nicer club in my life!

Telling me I had 2 prior violations of booking changes - turns out that was also incorrect because I only had 1 prior violation whereby I couldn't make it in time due to nyc subway being stopped. This time it was lifetime who booked me for 60 min when I wanted 30 min. I'm so over the spa here / they never have an esthetician available and charge $95 for a 30 min massage which is expensive by any means and the front desk manager is a bitch!

When I could no longer tolerate the big box gyms, the crowds that flock to them and the bad behaviors that have cropped up over time, I finally made the move to this gym. Sure it's smaller, sure it doesn't have daycare, saunas, pools, giant changing rooms but I consider all those things a plus. People who show up here show up to work out not sit at the sauna and pool all day. The price point is higher than most gyms but not unreasonable. You get what you pay for -- mostly in peace and quiet and an overall more courteous gentler crowd. There is a good mix of equipment that can handle a mix of folks who just want fitness, folks who are into bodybuilding and powerlifters. For the most part all three groups exist in peace. Perhaps the general fitness folks may at times be a little intimidated by some of the louder harder workouts of the powerlifters. But this can be mitigated by changing the time you go. I get overstimulated by such noises so I try to avoid those folks if I can. ( I can be a gentle flower lol) Gender balance. This gym has a very healthy gender balance. Luckily this crowd is not there to find suitors, they are there to work out so no fake eyelashes or clown makeup nor guys just dragging their wings along the ground like turkeys in heat. Please respect this dynamic and don't come here to hit on people. Like most gyms the peak time is 5-7 week days except it's mostly Monday to Wednesday that's somewhat busy during rush hour. But nothing like the big box gyms. It's busy but not impossible to get a workout in like other gyms. Folks are not aggressive with each other, they are kind when they approach you for working in etc. I take a long time at some machines people should be upset but there is no upset, only kindness. They are swapping out some of the equipment and its changes for the better -- mind you what's there is already plenty. This is a small gym floor compared to mix chain gyms. The gym in Lincoln village is slightly larger and the new one in round rock will be huge. The hours are great. Parking is plenty however not endless, sometimes you will have to hunt a little. The gym is clean, bathrooms is clean but could be better. I am just being honest. It's just fine. I have been spoiled by Lifetime and EOS. There is a regular crowd that's been there a long time and they sometimes do exert a little bit of ownership and territorial behavior but they are mostly harmless, they could use the challenge of new faces, and they are perfectly able to adapt and accept newcomers. So don't be intimidated. It's all teddy bears in there. The staff also is amazingly friendly and attentive and keep the place sharp and on top shape and help members. I highly recommend you get a week pass and check it out!
