Only a swimmer would understand the word freak association. It takes a dedicated athlete to wake up every morning and swim. It takes an athlete to swim over 2 hours that morning. It takes an athlete to return later in the day to swim another 2 hours. Swim Freak helps those athletes with anything Speedo. From bags to goggles to swimsuits, this cute little store totally hidden off of Thousand Oaks is a swimmers dream. No more are the days when I go to Academy in the winter and ask why they don't have suits. Swimming is a year long sport and this store caters to that. The only problem that I have with the store is that Speedo is the only brand they carry. I wish that they could switch it up a bit and give a little more variety. But then again, everything I use to swim is Speedo - so they must be on to something. read more

Tucktaway off of thousand oaks in a plaza off Henderson (by Lucy's doggy boarding )This place has a wide variety of swim goggles , training gear as well as snorkeling gear for what looks to be swimming pools only . No ocean gear. Although in same plaza the subs gear store is three or 4 store on right if facing Swim Freak. swim apparel ranges from babies to grandparents but honestly I didn't have much time to see if they had plus size or fashion worthy or other brands besides speedo which I saw a lot of. Holly took over a min to greet me but came over to suggest goggles for my open water swim this weekend . She handed me the Speedo fitness entertainment ( Air sealed XR) in black and then offered another in pink and walked back behind register after answering that both were the same. They weren't though . One was mirrored and original black were not. I would have enjoyed Holly, the older lady , to stay back a little to explain to me that mirrored help reflect glare from surface or under water or more , instead a sweet rep explained . Customer service starts when you initially make contact and close the sale at the end.Kinda felt passed off :( but young lady explained to me not only that but in regards to differences in snorkel gear for pool vs ocean as best as she could as well as suggesting I try on my goggles before purchase to make sure there was proper suction around eye , fit for my big head and as well as instructions on how to tighten or loosen with caution. This place will steal your money!!! Warning to all!! My mother took my daughter to the location on the northeast side and had her fitted for a competition suit. They fitted her and in their "professional opinion" my daughter needs a size 24. This suit cut my daughter shoulders and has left marks on her more than an hours after taking it off. My daughter had the suit on for only 30 minutes and they will not exchange or return it. No discount on additional suit due to their horrible professional opinion. I would never trust this company!!! read more

Only gave two stars for the merchandise, not for the service. Have bought plenty of merchandise from them over the years as our child swims competitively. Just recently needed help with goggles purchased at one of their tables at a local swim meet. The person at the store, who I believe is the owner, was totally unhelpful in every way. Could not assist with finding additional nose pieces for the goggles (when the box originally did not have them), could not help put the strap back on the goggles (after it was removed in trying to tighten them to prevent the water from leaking in). I will take it upon myself to try to get these goggles to work. If their representatives are selling their merchandise outside the store, they need to give the necessary information and check to make sure the boxes have all of the pieces, just like they would in the store. Once Swim Freak has your money, good luck in getting any service on your item. I will never go back to this store, but will give all my business to D & J Sports instead, where I have found them much more helpful. read more
