So here's an update:…read more Of course, her point of view is very different from mine and I hope you read her version of what happened as I'm the kind of person that feels you should hear both sides of every story. I would, however, like to point out the slightly amusing part of her response to my horrendous experience, as I feel that it will further prove my point. As I mentioned many times on the phone, in person and in my original yelp review, I had my Grandfather with me for my appointment. I repeat, Grandfather. In Lana's response, she refers to my father numerous times as she tells me that my experience isn't what happened. Since my father has been dead for over 20 years, it would have been impossible for him to be as involved as she claims. If he was this involved, perhaps she would do better in the field of being a medium... Because I'm sure I can think of a thousand things I'd like to ask my dead father... Who, according to Lana, was at the appointment. This lack of attention perfectly portrays the "hear what I want to hear" issues that I had various times throughout my appointment. In fact, being scolded and having Lana raise her voice to me would have been avoided, had she actually paid attention in the first place. Instead, I am being blamed for her misunderstanding. I took notes when on the phone with Lana. I have notes for every person I contact regarding the death of my aunt. I write exact times of calls made and I'm overly organized because this is such an important matter. What happened to me and my family was atrocious. But really, it's my word against her's. Well, her word against mine and my grandfather's. (who she drove to the brink of tears.) So you'll have to decide if she is someone you want to deal with. I just hope you take my experience in to consideration. I appreciate Lana's apology, even though it was more of an opportunity to tell me that I was wrong, rather than a genuine apology but I can, in no way, recommend her services. Especially to a grieving family... Unless they're really in to being yelled at, in a time of grief.

    Update of my priore review…read more Unprofessional. Inappropriate. Uncooperative. That about sums it up. See below for details. My lender contracted with United Appraisals to perform an appraisal on my residence.  United Appraisals hired Smart Valuation to complete the actual work and create the appraisal report.  The following is a copy of the message I sent to my lender yesterday, the day of the physical inspection.  It speaks for itself. "The scheduled physical appraisal took place this morning. A few comments: * I was told one person, a woman, would be conducting the appraisal.  Two people, a woman and a man, showed up this morning. * Upon their arrival at my home, I requested identification.  Neither individual had any type of id - not a drivers license, business card or any other minimal form of identification. * When I confirmed their need for id they both said "It's in the car!" * When I requested id for a third time they again said "It's in the car!" but this time with more attitude. *  When I repeated for a fourth time that they needed id before entering my house, the man said "We only give id to law enforcement".  I then explained how unprofessional it was for them to arrive at my house without any form of identification and expect to be allowed to enter.  They both said "We've never been asked for it before."  I explained that in their position, identification is a MINIMAL and BASIC requirement. * Upon their return a couple of minutes later, the woman held up her driver's license with her name visible.  I asked to hold the license in order to examine it.  She said "I don't want you to see my address!"  The man did the same. * I allowed both of them to enter.  They completed their task in less than five (5) minutes. The behavior and comments from these two individuals was very unprofessional and inappropriate.  They arrived without id and then said that it was somehow wrong and unreasonable for me to request it.  This was unacceptable. I appreciate that these individuals may just be contractors hired by United Appraisals. This does not excuse their behavior.  I am writing because you should know what type of people are working on your behalf.  Also, based on their unprofessional behavior and comments, I have serious concerns about the quality and integrity of their work product.     Wow, I can't believe this company is still in business. What a joke, and what a sad state of…read moreaffairs for anyone getting an appraisal done by them. They did mine in 2009 and pulled all the same shite the other reviewer said, to a T. The appraisal was completed by Charles under I think Gina's license. She signed off as if she had been to the property but actually had never been, and she was RUDE to my lender when I tried to get my lender to have them redo the appraisal. She also refused and was unnecessarily defensive about such a horrible job. The lack of detail orientation was ATROCIOUS, and there were 11 mistakes in it, including the floor plan, calling the 1-bedroom units 2 bedrooms (!!!), saying the single-pane craptastic aluminum slider windows were double pane, and including a comp that literally didn't even exist. I drove to the address and it wasn't there! There were SO many mistakes in it that I posited that they used a template with someone else's already filled out and just tried to paste new information in mine to save time. They denied that and fixed some of the mistakes but refused to change the value (!!). 2 bedrooms/1 bedrooms? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I cannot believe they haven't been sued, reported, or lost their licenses. Gina flat-out lied that she'd been to the property and used her key to get in. This would have been IMPOSSIBLE because the lockbox required a combo from an agent; no agent had given her a combo. There was no Supra. There was a tenant who absolutely would not have let her in the to occupied unit. Liars, scammers, incomptents. I cannot echo STAY AWAY enough. Also, Charles cannot spell and wears so much cheap cologne you can die from it like 20 feet away.
