I had been able to try Sweets by Millie at an elite Yelp event two years ago and I finally thought it was time to order my own set of cookies for my sons first birthday. I was able to email my ideas to Maggie and it was easy enough, yes others may have a better set up but as a small business we have to not expect Amazon checkout. Life has changed. Life is different. I miss my favorite spots in Nulu. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to do something to support my favorite businesses, especially the ones in Nulu. Enter collaborations with some of my favorite businesses in the area. The one that caught my eye was a joint venture with Revelry, Nouvelle, and Sweets by Millie. Their special for this pandemic was a Wino & Dino gift set. You get a special bottle of wine from Nouvelle, a Dino succulent from Revelry, and 6 cupcakes from Sweets by Millie. This is my favorite thing from the pandemic right now. The sparkling bottle of rose from Nouvelle was elegant and beautiful. The dinosaur succulent is fun, whimsical and will continue to remind me of this sense of solace for as long as I can keep the plant alive. Finally, the cupcakes. Oh my goodness. These were out of this world amazing. 2 vanilla, 2 strawberry and 2 chocolate. If you want absolute perfection, these cupcakes are it. Thank you to Nouvelle, Revelry, and Sweets by Millie for making this time a little sweeter and being willing to collaborate. Being from out of town, I love to use local bakeries to bring sweet treats to my clients. Sweets by Millies came up and I decided to order some Valentine's Day cookies for my customers (and for me!!). Ordering was a little difficult via the online ordering system. My order wouldn't go through and I had to enter a shipping address even though the place is pick up only. I ended up trying to call to place the order, but it went to voicemail and the voicemail said she preferred to be contacted by email. I ended up emailing her and getting a response right away. This was a little offsetting but I was really excited about the design and thought of handing these cookies out. Pick up was easy after parking on the street. I was greeted immediately and my cookies were waiting for my arrival. I had previously picked up Valentine's Day goodie bags because I planned to split them up between customers and was pleasantly surprised that they were individually wrapped. (Side note: cookies are not available for individual sale, it must be ordered in advance.) Overall, the decoration on the cookies was extraordinary but it all comes down to taste. These were good sugar cookies but nothing I would go out of my way to get again. I'm a fan of Panera's lemon shortbread cookies and in my opinion, those are better than Sweets by Millie. read more

Overall I would recommend SBM. I got a cake made a few months back and it was beautiful! The details were really nice and worth the money. On the flip side this cake did not taste good. It was dry and was not a hit at the party. Their cupcakes and cookies look delicious and beautiful. I will go that route next time. read more

Everything I have seen from Sweets by Millie is beautiful and creative. I have sampled some of their goodies at various tastings throughout the city. The store is close to my home and I have to admit I was a little disappointed that the cases are empty. You cannot walk in and buy their products. Sweets by Millie is an order ahead bakery. I understand their point. They probably cannot stock their custom products. The shop was busy when I visited. I saw one of the most beautiful, work-of-art cakes I have ever seen in my life being picked up when I was in the store. It would be great if they had even a limited selection of product available for neighbors and people who work nearby. I would definitely place a custom order for a special occasion but would love to sample more items on a regular basis. read more

Possibly the best cupcake I've ever had. It was chocolate with buttercream frosting and sprinkles. The cake was moist and the texture of the icing was perfect and complimented the cake. It was the refreshment at a play. This is where I'll be getting my next birthday cake! read more

Ordered Kentucky Derby Birthday themed cookies and could not have been happier with the outcome! Maggie was super helpful, friendly, and gave me ideas and price estimates. Don't overlook this talented baker! Have relied on Sweets by Mille for two years in a row to make specialty cupcakes for my son who temporarily resides in Louisville. She does a phenomenal job decorating these delicious little delicacies! She also delivers for a very nominal charge. The cupcakes are so moist and delicious. Had a sample of the pumpkin spice cupcake with cheesecake icing....I'm not a pumpkin fan. But this was the absolute best miniature cupcake I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. My parents had Millie make me a caramel birthday cake. I am a northern californian disciplined health nut who generally has one bite of cake and gives away the rest. I ended up eating a quarter of the cake on my own! It was that fabulous and gorgeous as well. read more

In October 2010, I started Sweets by Millie, after retiring from my first career as a professional ballet dancer. I have always loved to bake and now I'm happy to express my artistic ability through creating beautiful, and delicious, cakes for my customers.

My sweet table consisted of customized sugar cookies, cake pops, and lemon bars, as well as other assorted candies to tie in with my pastel color theme (light blue, pale pink, and peach). She supplied everything! Cake stands, candy jars, scoopers etc! It turned out wonderful! My guests still rave about the cake pops! I highly recommend her!

The party cookie is sweet so I ate it in pieces. Now I'm begrudgingly sharing the caramel appledoodle. My husband is enjoying his pecan cookie. The cookies are thick - and some are soft while others are firmer (but in a good way). I've followed the IG page to keep up and the online menu is showing me the other flavors.
