Never cheap, but the food was great and correct and an owner had to make a buck! I get it, I am a waiter. Fast forward. Car died so I have not been out for late night at Taco Rico. A new woman took my order. A campechano burrito, 4 tacos, rice and beans. Standard tacos are onions and cilantro. I asked for them loaded: lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream. She said there would be a charge and I said, of course it is more food. The total was $43.60. Yes you read that right. Plus I tipped her. Get home. Plain tacos, so God knows how much she charged me for whatever I did not get. And the rice and beans...usually a big container of each. Tonight a scoop of each in one box and not much at that. The meat on the tacos and burrito was dry. As in better have a glass of water handy dry. The rice was probably from yesterday as it had no moisture. I used to gladly give him good money for great food after leaving my restaurant. Now the food was D+...I will be generous maybe C-. As for the prices how does that add up. Say 5 dollars a taco (what??) So 4 = $20 Then say 15 a burrito. Steep but worth it if it was large (which it definitely was not) and good, but it was average at best. That would leave $8 (freaking) for a splash of rice and beans. I am sad because my favorite taco truck is now a place that will NEVER EVER see one penny of my business. I have never written a review before but this was SUCH a huge ripoff I want to warn others. Save your money and seek out a real truck. Guy was my fave, his crew lost at least 300-400 a month in business. Not to mention referrals. My guests are always asking where to go if they get hungry later. Taco Rico will never be mentioned. I am not bitter. But $43.60 for such little food AND it was wrong. Major skip

Smokey and intense, the meat falls apart with the slightest touch. Soldier BBQ serves his sandwiches with Sweet Baby Ray's sauces (according to him, he could make sauce from scratch, but it just wouldn't be as good), which I promise you is delicious. It's what I use at home for my BBQ. You can get just a sandwich, a platter with choice of baked beans, potato salad or mac and cheese, or you can buy meat by the pound. He takes credit cards, so there is no excuse to pass up this road-side smoker. Highly recommend!

Wow is the best way to describe the sandwich plate everyone at our office just picked up at this big bbq smoker stand at the Marathon Station on Shelbyville Road in Middletown. He is sometimes on Bardstown Road due to having to move every 14 days per the Health Department regulations. We have started calling his number to see when he is in our neighborhood. Today's choices were Brisket or pulled pork, with sides of potato salad, baked beans or mac n cheese. None of us opted for the pulled pork because the brisket is famous, so we can't comment on the pork. The potato salad was really good, but the baked beans had that same wonderful smoked-kissed flavor -probably because they sat warming in the smoker, but also because there were chunks of brisket in there too. We were all making so many yummy sounds at the first bites of our sandwiches that I bet our fellow office neighbors thought we were being naughty! The brisket was made even better by an assortment of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauces, pickles and jalapenos for garnish. I still have a big smile on my face after that lunch. Now, where can I hide to take a nap? $7 for a sandwich only - with at least 3 thick slices of brisket, $9 for a plate with 2 sides - big scoops! (a feast!).

I also recommend the apple cobbler and the blackberry cobbler! I was a little disappointed because they were out of ice cream the day we went, so we didn't get to try the cobblers with ice cream, but they were all delicious even without. The banana pudding is yummy, but it definitely does not have the southern homemade taste I was hoping for. I also tried the banana pudding topped with Butterfingers crumbles. It sounds like a strange combination, but it was very yummy! The cookies are a must! They are huge! I tried the Nutty Nutella, and it is delicious! I tried the vanilla cinnamon roll, which was good, but it would've been better warmed up a little. The cheesecake in a cup was a little underwhelming. It wasn't bad, but not something I would order again. The lady who took our order and made everything was helpful with recommendations! The dining area was clean, and they even have corn hole to play!
