This is my homebase so I might be a little prejudice on the side of Comics Are Go and Eric Anderson. Comics Are Go. I've been going to Comics Are Go since it was under previous ownership with Scott and it was called "Astound" in Westlake, Ohio. I've had the pleasure of watching this shop grow out of its previous location in the same plaza and into bright and spacious space it is now in. Eric Anderson went from being a novice to journeyman comic guy and always a gentleman. First thing you'll notice when you walk in is how light/ well-lit the store is and how open the floor plan is. Comics Are Go was able expand and fill the space with so much good stuff. They have so many back issues plus so many hidden back issues, it's dizzying. Be sure to ask what you're looking for. On the west side of Cleveland, there is probably not a Comic Shop that has more silver, gold and bronze comics available, including slabbed/ graded books. I believe they may have one of the largest selections of variant comics also. If you're a very collector, it's definitely worth your drive. They get new comics every Wednesday, they're always stocked with supplies and their Funko pop wall is amazing. They've also curated a large selection of graphic novels. I'm always mesmerized by the amount of toys that they have and their fantastic selection of statues and busts. And remember when you're looking at the wall books, they probably have 10 times that amount of wall books available or more. Be sure to ask for what you're looking for. I'm sure Eric or Ed will be able to find it for you. Recently, they put together a section of manga so if you're looking for some manga on the west side, Comics Are Go is your place. Every year Eric throws a big shindig for free comic book day, I am sure this year he is going to have special artists and creators. Plus he's gonna have a ton of free comics. Be sure to stop in. Carol and John's Comic Book Shop…read more I don't think anyone would argue that this shop is a prime example of everyone's favorite friendly-neighborhood comic shop. John and crew make this shop accessible to all ages. They have their layout dialed in, their social media dialed in, their special events dialed in and exciting and their books and pricing dialed in so all collectors can enjoy. New books weekly with some cool Facebook intros. A stellar shop cat, Winston, who actually runs things. ( it's a his shop and he actually let's us all enjoy it.) Their back issues are on sale, they have some neat manga titles and families will like the kid's area. They have supplies and probably the largest dual wall of Graphic Novels in Northeast Ohio. I love stopping into a shop that is definitely Chaotic Neutral. Maybe Chaotic Good. Or visa-versa. This shop is showcased / packed with Gaming, Gaming, Gaming. If you look up gaming in the dictionary, there's gonna be a picture of this shop They have gaming supplies, all sorts of card games, all sorts of singles, all sorts of table top games, dice and a great place in the back of the store to sit down and play whatever you desire. Markus also has what I believe is the only display of Sideshow collectible statues In Cleveland. If you like the stuff, be sure to break out your wallet they are not cheap. All along the tops of all the shelves are additional statues and other toys and collectibles. Be sure to look up. They carry, as I said, gaming supplies, and Comic supplies. They also have new comics on Wednesdays and Comics displayed around the store. A huge selection of graphic novels are along the wall on the right hand side. Markus has a lot of marquee or dioramas set up, and I love his Beholder, the huge G.I. Joe aircraft carrier and of course the Star Wars robot in the back. Only pictures can do this store justice. I only really got one "smile" and that was almost forced. But I'm bringing home a haul of books, dvds, and a game for under $35...so I can't talk at that! Will I come back, sure! Will it be soon? This HPB location is almost as good as the old Big Half Priced Books on Lane in Columbus (yes, we…read morecall it The Big HPB). Great selection, good sized clearance section, lots of books. Good prices. Lots of books (did I already say that?). Per the usual, I waddled out with arms bursting with my haul. I got a mix of Clearance fiction and some new non fiction. They have cute gift items as well, and the people are friendly. I did sell back a stack on a previous trip, and was not impressed with the buy back prices, but that's pretty much normal for consignment, and it did (temporarily) reduce the book burden in my house, which was the goal. Book burden was replaced during subsequent visit and has been returned to stasis.

This shop has something for everyone. I've had the pleasure of watching this shop grow from the very beginning. In fact, I was Adam Sabol's first customer when he opened, and my dollar bill still hangs on the wall to this day. It's been amazing to watch how far the shop has come -- it's a full-blown collector's paradise. Every inch of the store is filled with something cool -- from carefully displayed, carded figures lining the walls to bins and bags of treasure waiting to be dug through. The chaos is part of the charm, and yet somehow everything feels just right. If you're into DC, Marvel, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe, Star Wars, or pretty much any toy line that ever meant something, odds are you'll find it here. Adam himself is one of the best parts of the experience. Tons of comics, and a nice selection of Funko Pops. But what really impressed me was their collection of action figures. I love collecting Pops and action Figures. And I could have easily dropped hundreds here. If I had planned ahead and brought more money, I probably would have. I didn't really know about this store until my church friend, John, suggested the store to me because that is where he found his Bible cover. So, I came to find myself a Bible cover for a new Bible that I bought a week prior. I bought the Bible while in Chicago which is a used Life Application Study Bible that I randomly found for $1 at a bookstore. I was able to find a brown covered Bible cover here at Books-A-Million in October 2025. It has an Ephesians Bible verse on the front cover (Put on the Full Armor of God) and side pockets on the inside of it. I also like the side handle to carry the Bible cover. While at the store, a guy friend from church called me and asked me to find him a large print Catholic Bible (with the aprophcyha) but I couldn't find the exact one that he liked. I ended up returning back to Books-A-Million on October 31, 2025 to buy a Catholic Bible for him. A few others later chipped in money to use in purchasing this Catholic Bible for his birthday in November. I couldn't find a large print Catholic Bible with Jesus words in red so I bought a regular print one with Jesus words in red plus a Bible magnifier. I returned to the store in November 2025 to look for something that they didn't have but per my posted photos, I bought some Dubai Chocolates (I am writing this review almost a year later). INSIDE -- the store is large and organized by various sections. BOOKS GALORE -- There are many books to choose from, including fiction and non-fiction. They offer books in areas of business, religion, mysteries, sports, romance, etc SERVICE -- It may be difficult to find help because the store is large. When I finally found assistance, the employee was helpful during my two October 2025 visits. I remember during my first October visit, the employee walked around the Bible section of the store with me trying to help me find a specific Catholic Bible. I'll definitely be back again if I am looking to buy a specific book (I traditionally shop at local bookstores).
