Her cakes usually feed 12-16 people so she instructed me to cut it into pieces and freeze it. Her cake lasted all of 3 days and was consumed by only 3 (Me, my husband and daughter). That alone tells you it was really really good! I then purchased several as christmas eve gifts for various parties I was attending. If you haven't tried her cakes, I would highly suggest you get on her website PRONTO and order some or stop by Cafe Amano to purchse it directly. Once you tried it, you will be HOOKED too!..... When I arrived, I was informed that she decided to make a few more cupcakes to fill in the serving dish. I was fine with that until she raised the amount that she said I owed... If she decided to make more, that's on her. Why would I have to pay more? So I'm not sure if she raised the price because of the couple cupcakes she added or if she just changed it haphazardly. I'm not sure which would be worse....either way, bad. I didn't squabble over a couple bucks but was annoyed. Then, I paid and I didn't notice until I was on my way that she gave me the wrong change....again to her advantage. Umm....wtf? I don't know what to say about a business like this!!! The cupcakes themselves weren't good. The frosting had hardened and it was pure sugar!! I can't even say the flavor was good....even though I generally love sweets. These were too sweet!! I honestly hated them!! I will not return to this place....ever.

I've had mixed experiences here. They make excellent cookies, of which I've tried several, and…read moretheir chocolate pretzels are standard. But their cakes really don't hold up. I've had them twice, and both were consumed within the hour of buying them. Both had frosting that tasted like sweetened plastic, a strangely wet (not moist, just wet) interior, and an off flavor. One cake in particular stood out, a chocolate cake with white frosting, which tasted like someone had mixed flat rootbeer with a few teaspoons of rubbing alcohol and soaked the bottom of the cake in it. It was very strange, and we obviously didn't finish it. I maintain that they make good cookies, though, and I'll probably go back for those.

This was after filling out an order form and 3 separate phone conversations-- one of which was bc I was double charged. On top of that, the cake itself looks very amateur-ish and not professionally made. Had I the time, I for sure could've done better myself. Oh, and as a bonus the girl I spoke to the first time on the phone was super rude then basically hung up on me. Just go get your cake at Jewel's-- it basically looks the same.

They are always coming up with fun and unique flavors, and the stuff they post early in the morning is honestly half the reason I check Facebook. The staff were very friendly and gave recommendations on what the most popular flavors were. I always appreciate that in a place. The pastries are on the sweeter side for sure, so having a whole one can be a lot, but that is just me. Still totally worth it. The decor inside is so cute too. Definitely gives you Alice in Wonderland vibes with all the little trinkets and tea time touches. Super charming spot. If you are into sweets and fun vibes, it is a must-try.

I thought I was calling a bakery. Darla told me she would do the charcuterie tray, mini sandwiches desserts and cake. There's nothing to really look at so she will just text you ideas. I was excited to help out a small, local business. She works out of her home and wants half upfront. Sounds fair but was a little concerned because there's just a tiktok and phone as a contact and was nervous zelleing someone I wasn't totally comfortable with. I decided to only use her for the cake. Well, the day after we firmed up things (but still really no idea what the cake would look like or charcuterie or anything so was not sure what I was buying - no description, no invoice, no nothing but she wants half) she decided she couldn't make the cake. She feels I will be disappointed :-/ We're both pulling ideas off Pinterest or google and mine was no different than hers, so not really sure what happened here. Unfortunately, Im a week out and have to start over. Very disappointing. Feel she shouldn't send me "ideas" of cakes if she cannot produce them! Big waste of my time.
