Dear Lord, I can't tell you more emphatically to RUN away from these people. I was referred to them to "clean up" my books. I was there for 4 years. In the fourth year I'm told, "your taxes have been done wrong for years and you should hire an attorney to fix it." We then discovered that they hadn't disclosed my "rental property" had in fact been . . . rented. That's 3 years of rental income . . . late. That means another check and penalties. When I complained, the douche replied - in an email cc'ing people I've never met - acting like it was MY bookkeeper's fault? I forwarded an email where we expressly stated the RENTAL PROPERTY was rented - from three years ago - and then I never heard back. IE. Their customer service is amazingly worse than their tax preparation. PISS POOR read more

I called six weeks ago to set an appointment with one of their CPAs. The only time I got a call back was a week after my initial call asking me to put a credit card on file with them so when one of their CPAs finally got around to calling me or making an appointment, they'd have a way to charge me (sure, okay.) Well, they never bothered to reach out after that. I guess I'll call a different firm that has the capacity to take on a new client. What a waste of time. read more

This nightmare seemed like it would never end. Sweeten CPA shuffled us around to different bookkeepers within their office. The only time we received a financial report was when we complained after not receiving one for 6 months...the report was full of errors and we never received another monthly report again. We then received late fees from the IRS...TWICE! After they couldn't figure out our QuickBook POS / Enterprise sync issue they suggested we separate the two programs completely and just pay them to export and import figures manually....at $55 an hour...WHAT???? The best part is each owner charged us their hourly rates ($70) to review our emails where we complained about our books being wrong and reports not coming in. I hate to sound like a broken record but...WHAT???? In response to owners Yelp comment: I am so happy you learned from your experience. Meanwhile we have paid another bookkeeping company over $6,500 to fix your mistakes. We also learned from the new bookkeeper that because of your company we overpaid our sales taxes by nearly 100% every month in 2015. You destroyed our books and we are still paying for it. We intend to seek legal counsel regarding this. I'm sure your only regret real regret is you couldn't charge me for replying to my Yelp review. read more

Their CPA I worked with, Andrew, was great when it comes to the accounting and tax principals. The support staff and administrative burden from working with Sweeten were so bad we had to part ways. Their invoicing system is super outdated (imagine a system from 2001) and their process was ridiculous. They invoiced me for work they did five months prior to issuing the invoice. (I didn't remember the phone call they billed me for five months ago.) I expect way more professionalism from a CPA company, especially when it comes to invoicing... which they should be experts at because their entire business is dealing with finances!! Super frustrating experience dealing with 5+ different team members on simple matters. I felt like I was the vendor and they were my client because there was so much babysitting.. but I was paying them. They've got a lot of work to do. read more

Super-knowledgable and caring staff! So helpful and efficient!

I used this company for my business and they were a huge waste of my time and money. The owner did not care about the amount of work my team had to do to correct her staffs' mistakes and refused to even try to make good on the unreasonable price they charged for sloppy and erroneous accounting practices---they lacked concern for details, didn't double check their employees' reconcile that was way off, and then made excuses when I asked to address the bookkeeper's mistakes. My new bookkeeper and CPA had to spend several days cleaning up Sweeten's mess (at my expense). Furthermore, on at least 3 separate occasions, Sweeten incorrectly invoiced my company (always in their favor). I would NEVER recommend them to any company that has a slightly detail oriented need from them. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT and waste of money!!!! (I'd rate them zero stars if yelp would let me). read more

Now, I have to find a new accountant and tax preparation service with little time before taxes are due. Client service doesn't appear to be a priority. read more

Extremely rude and unprofessional. Communication was very limited. I've worked with an accountant out of state who communicates better with me. I kept getting billed without being told I was using a service. For example, I asked for a specific phone number to the IRS and for that request... I got charged $70. read more
