I wasn't expecting much from this creamery, but I walked away incredibly surprised. I got the bourbon truffle (or something like that) and the Cuban coffee cream -- and they were delicious on their own, but paired great together. A friend of mine got two scoops of the vegan lemon and it was perfectly tart. This place is small and there aren't very many places to sit, but it's very easy to walk in, order, and go on a brisk walk with your delicious, creamy sweet treat.
I got the ice scream sandwich with mvp and and bourbon truffle flavors and it was a good combination. The mvp had chocolate covered peanut butter bites. They had a good amount of flavors and would love to try some of the more fruity flavors here as well. The service was super friendly. There wasn't that many options for seating. It's more like a place where you can grab and go. The only down side is that the area where it is located was a little scary at night when I went. There were a couple homeless people outside and there is a parking deck right next to the location but we just parked right outside the store on the street so that we could keep an eye on the car.
My kids were able to find their favorite flavors and seemed happy with their treats BUT... I did not go into the business. The closest parking was a block away and before I was fully parked, a guy rode over to my vehicle on a scooter and started telling me how terrible this parking lot was and pointed out the two other vehicles already booted. Scooter man proceeded to ask me if I ever help out the homeless and asked for cash, and had a hard time accepting my no answer. Across the street from the public parking lot is John Calhoun Park. I noticed numerous homeless sleeping in the shade and another covered in a wheelchair next to the street. My initial thought was to find another ice cream option because I didn't feel comfortable leaving my vehicle and walking a couple blocks over to Sweet Stacks. My daughters (ages 6 & 7) had been drinking lots of water because it was a hot day and had to pee really bad. I circled the block and let the girls out, my oldest was able to handle payment. To our dismay, the bathrooms at Sweet Stack are for employees only. My idea of a fun treat was very underwhelming. Sweet Stack might be more of a locals only shop.
The pros: Good portion size and a variety of flavors - they also have a good selection of vegan ice cream for anyone that has dietary restrictions. Lady serving us was so patient and kind! Sweet dreams was really good, especially for fruit flavor lovers. Go ahead and pass on the mango flavor - it's vegan so it has a more icy texture and the flavor isn't that strong. Got it to accomodate a friend but would've gone for the caramel praline otherwise. The cons: Pricing is unclear and maybe even a little deceptive? Could've sworn that the menu said $4.15 for a small cup and was told that I could have up to two scoops. When I got to checkout it seemed like you had to pay for the cup plus $1 for each scoop, so my total was coming out to $6.15 pre-tax. To me this pricing model makes no sense and if it's posted, it's not clear/visible. If a place says that I can get up to two flavors with my size, I'm expecting two smaller scoops of two diff flavors or one large scoop of a single flavor. In hindsight, perhaps their pricing model is a flat $4.15 for the cup + $1 for each scoop, and you can get up to 4 scoops (so cup size doesn't matter) Either way, pricing is not super clear in my opinion. Also the parking at night here is a little sketch - I get it, it's downtown, but just throwing that out there. Pricing aside, this is a solid place for ice cream
I first tried Sweet-Stack at the Dessert Wars festival a few months ago, and it was my favorite treat I sampled at the festival. I've been wanting to visit their storefront ever since, and we stopped by last weekend just prior to closing. My husband was waiting in the car outside so I felt a little under pressure to order fast, and they weren't doing samples, which made it hard to decide! I ordered a donut ice cream sandwich with Cookie Monster ice cream. It was really tasty, but I wish I would have ordered a topping on it. They also have cookie sandwiches that look really good too! I've never heard of donut ice cream sandwiches before Sweet-Stack. The donut is warm and the ice cream is still cold / not melty. I would recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
I'm a fan of trying any dessert with a twist! Sweet Stack Creamery did not let me down! After seeing that they had an activated charcoal ice cream, I knew I had to put this place on my to visit list. Then I saw the names of the flavors and knew I'd be making a trip same day! I took my kids, because what child doesn't want ice cream?! I ordered the charcoal flavor, called Black Panther. It also has coconut flavor and vanilla wafers crushed in! 10/10 My son ordered chocolate, but I can't remember the name. My daughter ordered the Amber Rose which is cotton candy with pop rocks! They don't have kid scoops so it was almost $5 for each of our single scoops. They also have a wide selection of toppings to add and make creations like donut sandwiches!
Unfortunately this was a no for us. It's been on my list for awhile but is a hike so we finally made the trip yesterday. Parking is located in the garage right before the shop (free) and staff weren't exactly warm or welcoming making for a weird vibe. Their COVID protocols are still fully in place- only four allowed inside, no indoor dining, masks required and no samples so just things to be prepared for when you go. They will sell you a mask for $1 if you forget yours. We weren't super hungry so chose to not do the donut but did get a waffle bowl. We got the amber rose (cotton candy), bday cake and Cookie Monster and honestly were disappointed by all three flavors. I'm unsure if they make their ice cream fresh in house, I couldn't find out for certain on the site, but it tasted identical to Herseys brand ice cream and there were big chunks of ice throughout. The Cookie Monster was the biggest disappointment with our scoop only containing two pieces of cookie dough and a portion of one Oreo, it essentially was just vanilla was food coloring. We really wanted to love this stop but unfortunately the ice cream looks better than it tastes.
Loved sweet stack. I ubered and it was easy to find. They let me sample flavors and I decided on birthday cake. I got the donut sandwich and it was so good, definitely could've shared between two adults. They have standing room inside but no seating. I would definitely come back and try other flavors. Also the staff was super friendly
I feel like an OG...wait there's a reason for that...I had the OG from the sweet stack. 2 scoops of Oreo ice cream, with warm fudge on top. Oh yeah!!! Now, even though the ice cream was heavenly here's some stuff to be mindful of. It is in downtown Atlanta in the auburn area. So you will have to find parking on the road. They open late, midnight to be exact. Also, on 4 customers allowed in at a time. So be ready for a wait. The staff are helpful and nice, but be clear about what you want. I hate to say it but they seem a little distracted. Awesome spot and nice flavor listings.
This place was awesome! Loved the I cream flavors. I got the fruity pebble icecream with fruity pebbles inside. Ugh! The best thing ever! Tasted exactly like fruity pebbles. My boyfriend who is lactose intolerant got a vanilla icecream that was vegan. (glad they had that option) He added some of his favorite toppings and thought it was really good too. Definitely gotta go back! Covid friendly! No seating inside
So glad I had the chance to stop by this addition to the downtown scene! This ice cream shop specializes in making sweet stacks which are ice cream sandwiches made with cookies or donuts. The cookies and donuts are delicious all by themselves. The ice cream is amazing! Proceeds benefit community benefit programs. Highly recommend the cookie dough and the black panther. Love the coffee ice cream in a waffle cone!! The birthday cake ice cream seriously missed and the pieces of cake inside were the strangest texture and the flavor is sickly sweet. My husband had a donut ice cream sandwich with the black panther ice cream and it was just OK- the presentation was AWFUL and the logistics of eating it is a nightmare lol. I must have come when I was in desperate need of ice cream because the last couple of times it was sticky and gross. And lacked so much flavor. I discussed this with a friend who told me that makes sense because they use blue bunny ice cream. It's a shame because I could go buy a whole tub from Kroger for the samee price read more
I went here after work one day just because I had a craving for something sweet- I had no idea what I was walking into! Sweet Stack has unique and delicious flavors and they will put any of these flavors into a cookie, brownie, or doughnut sandwich. You can't get any better than that! I got cereal milk ice cream with fruity pebbles as a topping in between two donuts. The staff was friendly and suggested this pairing to me since it was my first time - I was not disappointed. I felt very safe coming sweet stack. Social distancing is enforced and everyone is required to wear a mask. We tried a variety of ice-cream. My favorite was the praline icecream donut sandwich. This is some good ice cream! I brought my son here for his birthday. He has the birthday cake flavor on a cone, and it really tastes just like a birthday cake. I also loved my vanilla ice cream on a chocolate chip cookie. Delectable! I recommend it if you like sweet delicious chocolate! If you aren't a fan of sweetness, then this is not for you. My husband had the pralines which was so, so, so good. I agree with another yelper who said the ice cream is high quality and also doesn't melt easily is right!!! Today was my first visit with my family ! My sister ordered the Amber Rose ice cream with pop rocks while the kids had an order of birthday cake ice cream in a cake cone ! I on the other hand tasted several samples because it was quite difficult for me to make up my mind ! I loved the Carmel Praline, Oreo cookies and cream and the BirthdayCake. So many choices to choose . As a result I must come back for another visit . Oh, a bonus the bathroom was clean and fresh . The idea of going into a public bathroom is something I dread the most when out with friends and family . However, quite up-kept. Yummmm!!! What a fun idea-- A donut ice cream sandwich! We stopped by after leaving a Braves game to eat in the car on the way home! They were closing soon and only letting 4 people in at a time due to covid, but there weren't too many people there so we went right in! The staff was super friendly! Unfortunately, they weren't doing ice cream samples-- so sad! I got the classic donut as a bun with cookie dough ice cream in the middle! So tasty! Swung by for some dessert and was pleasantly surprised by the richness and creaminess of these flavors but also their perfect level of sweetness. Tried the sweet dreams and cookie monster on a waffle cone. Both flavors were so deliciously creamy. They really pack in the ice cream into the cone so it's really more like 3 scoops by the way! One cone scoop is close to $5 but the additional scoop is only an extra $1. Sweet bang for a buck! Theres some indoor seating with a chill lounge atmosphere if you come with friends. Theres a lot of street parking around here since it's by gsu campus (lucky students). At 7pm on Monday thru saturday, theres more free street parking too. read more
First time in Atlanta and with a sweet tooth, we found this new spot with not one but two things we love: donut & ice cream! Walked in on a Monday afternoon after lunching and was immediately greeted by the super friendly owner, Troy. We told him we've never been there before so, he gave us a quick tutorial of the process and the different options. I love options but also i can be indecisive so, next thing I know, Troy's handling me little samples of my potential flavors. After trying a few fun flavors, I made up my mind to go with a scoop of the Dirty Bird (butter pecan ice cream with roasted pecan) & scoop of Cookie Monster (cookie dough ice cream with oreos & blue frosting). I had those two sandwiched between a hot fluffy glazed donut. When the masterpiece was completed, Troy handed it to me and it was HOT! But surprisingly, the ice cream was still frozen solid. The first bite was AH MAY ZING!!!!! And so were all the other bites to follow until it was all gone. I was quite sad... almost wanted to order another one but had to stop myself! I highly recommend this ice cream spot! Even on a cold day like today, 50 degrees, still worth the trip! If I lived in Atlanta, I'd come here all the time! Ice cream was good. Vanilla and chocolate was nothing special. Cereal milk which is the blue one, has a fruity pebbles taste. The black panther is black which you can't see. It is charcoal with a hint of a coconut flavor and it has little pieces of wafers in it I really appreciate the serving size did have to pay for the scoops tho lol. Both of our ice creams came up to just over $17 so it was a little pricey but we were being fat so read more

Came here for the charcoal ice cream specifically and it did not disappoint. We found that the street parking by the library was the most convenient free parking we could find at the time. We went on a Sunday. I got: - Black Panther - activated charcoal, coconut, and vanilla wafers - Green Tea - matcha flavored Loved both of them, and thought the slight bitterness in matcha balanced out the sweet coconut and vanilla wafers in the black panther flavor. Portions are generous and I actually had to save some for another day. Currently inside is closed for dine in, so we got the ice cream in cups to go. Would definitely love to come here again sometime to try their impressive looking ice cream sandwiches, and check out more of their flavors. read more
This was our first time here and my order (donut sandwich) was very underwhelming- largely due to the donut being dry and cold despite being put on the press. I watched a different girl make another customers and hers looked way better. I ordered the Black Panther and Pralines n cream rolled in fruity pebbles. I abandoned the donut because it wasn't warm, gooey or shiny like in the pics and tasted like stale bread with no flavor. Meanwhile, my partner in crime was loving his. He had both vegan options, the mango and vanilla with Oreos on top. The mango was hands down the best. Cons: They're supposed to only let 4 people in at a time and sent the girl out ahead of us only to allow 10 people in at once. Super impressed with the COVID precautions here. Only 4 customers in the store at a time. Everyone wearing masks. No samples to avoid contamination. Employees wash hands between every cup and change gloves. They give hand sanitizer to customers on the way out. The only gripe was enforcement. Seems like it works when customers are game. They didn't make another customer put on a mask when we were there. Seemed sort of counterproductive when they're being so careful. Ice cream is obviously on point. Great late night dessert spot. Was looking for a sweet tooth fix after a late night out and was happy to find this joint was still open. Great service, awesome selection of flavors, including some specialty flavors, and rich, creamy ice cream. If you are a sweets lover like me, this is the place for you. The highlight for me was the "Sweetstack." Think of "the Luther" from boondocks with ice cream sandwiched between a doughnut. super cute ice cream shop located on GSU Campus. They have plenty of flavors including 2-3 vegan options! I had the Black Panther and I would argue its one of the best flavors i've ever had.. in my life. I can't quite describe the flavors and actually the way the ice cream looked was not the most appealing BUT it was the best decision I ever made. The location itself is pretty small, with not really enough space to sit and hang out, but it's great for a grab and go dessert. read more

Good service, practicing social distance by only allowing up to four customers at a time in the shop. Gloves and mask worn by staff. No samples due to Covid-19. That's the only thing that was not good. Had the black panther on a waffle cone, simply delicious. Coconut flavor is subtle and chunks of goodness in the ice cream. Cuban coffee in a cup. Sweet-Stack came to Grady for a residency event in early March and much to my surprise it was amazing!! Since then I've ordered the delightful treat through UberEats during this horrible pandemic and it's just as tasty. In person, the staff is so accommodating and patient. They were pleasant and willing to help with the massive orders they had while at Grady. My first stack was the Cookie Monster donut and it was sooo good and definitely fun to eat. It tasted just like cookie dough ice cream with a fun color. The ice cream isn't that creaming but it is still yummy and the the blue dye doesn't have an after taste I also had the cookies and cream filled donut. Surprisingly, the cookies and donut pair so well together. My mouth was like, oh chocolate, oh sweet donuts, yum!! I definitely recommend this place. What a ice surprise! We were in dire need of a pick me up after a long day - and found this gem! First, the location is viable, but also tucked away. Hard to explain, but if you look for the Pizza Hut and Moe's you cannot miss it! They offer free parking in the Dwell Garage right next door! On to the goods - this unique creamery makes ice cream sandwich's with cookies or donuts! Whoa sugar rush! They also do cones / cups and offer an array of toppings if that's your thing. What I LOVE? Taste all you want. Fresh / seasonal and unique flavors await you here. Also, classic flavors are very good as well. MUST TRY / GET: black panther - sooooooo good. -The staff were pleasant *I got a plain scoop of chocolate ice cream. -My Ice cream was the equivalent of Chinese buffet quality; cheap and icicly (crunchy crystals texture). *My bf got the donut sandwiched ice cream (vanilla ice cream with oreo chunks) with Reese's topping. -He says the donut wasn't hot at all. (Probably user error with the staff not heating the griddle or press properly before hand). -he wasn't critical about the ice cream or toppings. Overall: We wouldn't recommend this place as a first choice, but rather last resort. Maybe if you are drunk and/or aren't a picky foodie. read more

This is what you get to eat when you're not the Bachelorette Tried out Sweet Stack recently and it was as amazing as it looks! Pictured is their Donut Stack with Black Panther and Cereal Milk Ice Creams and Fruity Pebbles to top! They also have vegan options which are also so good! My only critique would be the location as it isn't super convenient, but the flavors are so yummy that it doesn't really matter! read more
If you want something sweet to cool you down this summer or even now while it's cold, head on down to Sweet Stack Creamery! I can't tell you guys how many times I've been to this place within the last two months. You can get the ice cream of your choice in a cone, cup. Cookie or even a donut! My personal favorite is the Amber Rose ice cream. read more

I gave this place three-star because the staff needs to do better with customer service! It was me and my daughter first time going to this place after we found them at the dessert war event. We got the dirty bird on a donut with fruity pebbles cereal. Great ice cream but the girl has an attitude and she needs to change her gloves after pulling up her pants so gross . read more

Yummy yummy in my tummy. This spot was the perfect late night stop before heading in. I'm a cookie and cream, vanilla, and salted caramel kind of girl. I got the donut stack filled with Cookie Monster and a topping of m&ms. If you get the donut, definitely toast it. It was sooooo good. I also got an extra scoop of black panther on the side. I had initially considered ordering it by Uber eats, but I'm happy I went into the store. The general vibe and music was good. I was able to sample a few flavors before deciding on my favorites, and THE SMELL. It's nothing like the combination of donuts, ice cream, brownies, and cookies all rolled into one delightful space. read more
Pretty typical ice cream place. The selling point is that they make ice cream sandwiches of donuts or cookies. I tried the Cookie Monster scoop and it was yum, chocolate fudge and the coffee oneS were delicious. Price is a little higher than the normal cold stone or kilwins, but it's a nice post dinner dessert place! read more

Wasn't very impressed. Came for the charcoal ice cream and the workers didn't even know what I was talking about when I mentioned it, which was confusing that the staff was not well versed on the menu. They were unsure of which ice creams were dairy free and which were not. The staff seemed annoyed that we even had questions for them and was on their phone and unfriendly. They were out of many options and overall I left with nothing. Not the best experience. Need to hire enthusiastic workers that want to properly represent the company! read more
