I was really excited to try Big Softie, but unfortunately, the customer service completely overshadowed the food. When we got to the counter, we politely let the staff know that we were first-timers. Instead of being welcoming or offering a quick rundown of the menu, they were not friendly at all. We had a few basic questions about the menu, but it was clear that the staff was visibly annoyed by them. We left feeling like our presence was inconveniencing them. A major warning to anyone planning to visit: You need to research exactly how to order here ahead of time. If you don't know exactly what you want the second you step up, you will end up holding up the line, and the staff does not have the patience for it. As for the ice cream itself, it was actually good. We ordered the chocolate and vanilla soft serve, as well as the matcha soft serve topped with corn flake streusel. They have a lot of really interesting toppings on the menu, we saw things like Cheez-It brittle that looked unique, but we didn't end up trying them because we just wanted to finish our order and get out of the uncomfortable environment. Unfortunately, that combination lights my pocket up for $10, but I eat it like I'm Kirby from the video game. So good! They also have ice cream sandwiches and cream pies, but I've yet to indulge. This location has a few seats on the inside and some outside seating in the back as well. It's situated next to a party cafe that it shares a corridor with on one side and a watering hole on the other. Most people take their treat to-go, but sticking around isn't a bad option. It's clean and comfortable. Apparently I timed my visit perfectly because when I arrived there was only two folks in front of me but I happened to turn around and within 2 minutes of my arrival, an additional 8 folks magically appeared behind me. The young lady who helped me at the counter was super sweet and when I asked for some suggestions since it was my first time there, she kindly offered them and let me know some of her favorites. One thing to note is they do not have to go lids but they can put a cup over your treat if you aren't eating it right away (yes my sister made fun of me for not eating it right away). The area Big Softie is located in is so cute and quaint! I was told by several of my coworkers to try this place and get the cornflakes streusel, which did not disappoint. It was not crowded when we went and the staff members were nice and efficient. You will find their flavor selection not overwhelming which is what I prefer. The flavor was strong and very refreshing, I also really enjoyed the sprinkles. They really do pack the toppings on there. The matcha was okay, I thought the matcha flavor was not as strong and it kind of tasted more like a strong milky flavor in my opinion. Not sure what milk, either almond or oat.
