I normally get cakes etc. from Weinrich bakery or Be Well. However, I read reviews about this place and insisted to give it a try, especially since this is a small family business. We had called them up a day before and asked them a lot of questions, so we thought it's only fair to go to them (even though the choices they had were very limited). Anyway, eventually, it turns out it is a small family business, with exorbitantly priced products and basically love to just push their products. The cake was okay, at best. Not sure I can explain the rave reviews. Someone claimed that they got a gift on their birthday. We didn't even get a wish! It could be that they treat people not from their part of the world differently or it could be that since we were wearing masks due to COVID, they didn't like us (they were not, even though Yelp features suggest that they are). I noticed that they had spelt Macarons wrong. I jokingly told her so. What they have in store is Macarons, not Macaroons! She gave me a lecture on how it is macaroons in France! I have lived in France and no what are selling are pronounced and spelt as Macarons (Macaroons is something different). Something that was said jokingly was made to be so serious. I just told her that she must be right (she was NOT...however, this told me a lot about her attitude. Tell her how much you love her, she is okay. Just don't give any feedback or say something correct, which is not in line with how she thinks, even jokingly ). While we were ready to take the cake and leave, she told something to the person in Russian. She wanted to make sure that she had charged us extra $2 for a happy birthday sign they gave ys (only because she couldn't write happy birthday on the cake. I thought she was a baker! I have never had a baker tell me that). I told her that I don't need her sign. Also, I had many of those signs I had bought on Amazon (for way less than $2). A 7-inch basic cake (they call their speciality) costed us around $50. Go somewhere else, support some other local business.
Also, they need to stop pushing their products!!! If I need something, I will buy it. You don't need to insist that I buy they honey you are selling. It's uncomfortable to keep saying "No thanks, another time" read more
