    Blue Velvet Cake Slice
    Caitlin V.

Five stars for their Blue Velvet cake slice! So moist, crumbly, chewy, and melts in your mouth goodness, like a cake should be. And it has the right amount of frosting and it isn't overly sweet. Whenever I'm in Carson, I try to stop by and grab a slice. The staff is nice and the place is clean. When I walked in, I was welcomed with the smell of fresh cinnamon rolls. I was tempted to try one, but I stuck with the blue velvet. Next time though.

I gave this location another try. Customer service was a little better but I'm still not sure why staff seem timid when people walk in. Items were better stocked. Not only was there cake slices but finally cupcakes, peach cobbler nachos and cinnamon rolls. I bought the peach cobbler nachos. They were good. It's a different twist on peach cobbler, less filling, crispy nacho-like crust and cream on top. I was not happy about the carrot cake this time. It was kind of crumbly, definitely not fresh. I'm being generous to up my review to 4 stars because the store was more stocked on a Monday.

Saw on Facebook that the soft opening of Sweet Red Peach Carson was today, so I had to check it out! I arrived about 10 minutes after opening. The bakery is located in a new condo/retail building -- everything from the parking lot to the storefront was spotless and welcoming. It's a grab & go setup, but there are tables out front if you want to enjoy your treat right away. Parking is easy with both street options and a lot behind the building. There were about 20 people in line when I arrived -- word's definitely getting around! I wanted to try the cinnamon roll, but they weren't ready yet. Instead, I picked up a toffee chocolate chip cookie with pecans ($4), banana pudding cup ($7.50), and a slice of chocolate/chocolate cake ($8). Everything looked -- and tasted -- just as amazing as the original location. Service was courteous. I could tell employees were excited and a bit nervous about day one. This is actually my first time adding a business on Yelp, and I'm happy it's for Sweet Red Peach. Welcome to Carson!

Another location with some sweet red goodness.. I got a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream & German chocolate cake this time but my favorite is the lemon blueberry, red velvet & carrot cake but this location don't have them so that's why I only gave 4 stars..

    The Peach Cobbler Cheesecake slice!

A super cute but not-so hidden bakery, which is WHAT WE NEED MORE OF! I feel like all of the cute local bakeries are always hidden and out of sight, so I'm glad Sweet Red Peach isn't... esPECIALLY since their sweet treats are AMAZING! I got a Peach Cobbler Cheesecake slice as well as a Cinnamon Roll from here and MAN. THEY WERE BOTH SO GOOD! You can absolutely tell they didn't just throw it outside of the freezer and let it thaw out, which is heavily appreciated in today's world. I want to also say how amazing the service was! It was my first time in and I believe the cashier had noticed I looked a little lost. She asked if it was my first time in, and when I had replied yes, she politely started introducing me to all of the sweets they had on available stock, as well as letting me know of Banana Pudding that was still getting made. She had a smile the entire time and was kind and patient with me. WILL COME HERE AGAIN!

Went here on 10/21 and they were closing so there weren't a lot of options, but I returned on 11/13 and it was early in the day. It was slow and seemed like they had just opened a bit before that. There were so many desserts to choose from. We ended up getting the strawberry cheesecake cake, coffee cake, banana pudding and white vanilla cake.

Stopped by during their grand opening and picked up the red velvet cupcakes and pound cake -- you can truly taste the love in every bite! If you're craving traditional, down-home desserts made with care, look no further than Sweet Red Peach.

I love sweet red peach Carson! I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners Michael, and he was so polite and inviting! My cupcakes were fresh, the establishment was clean, and the staff were so professional and friendly! Go visit this location!

The slice of cake in the oversized container.

I actually really like this location because it's a little closer to home, but INGLEWOOD will always be my OG. I love them folks over there -- the energy, the crowd, the supporters, everything. And don't even get me started on how fire the desserts are. Ok, I'm done praising INGLEWOOD OG. Now Carson is coo too, and the lady here is nice. They don't really have everything like Inglewood, but they're still solid. The only thing I have to mention is the container situation. The ones at Inglewood are a bit smaller and fit the cake perfectly. Carson uses the same type of container, just bigger, so the cake slides around. By the time I get home it doesn't even look the same. Y'all are nice!! But please get the containers right!

German chocolate cake and banana pudding.

I went the other day to get a banana pudding and a german chocolate slice of cake, they were both really good. It was interesting to have the banana pudding without the wafers being soggy. Everyone was also polite. Will be returning.

It's pretty clean and organized. They have simple rules items. My only one-off is that this place is really pricey! Most of all their items are expensive, and usually I end up either leaving or having to only get what I want. I know it's a small mom and pop bakery to probably cover their overhead, but their prices are pretty up there! They should sell them in smaller batches or more affordable options for buyers. Sadly, we even witnessed a guy stealing here one time. He was putting bread under his shirt and left. We told the shop owner but that guy got away when the owner tried to stop him.

I really like their pan de sal, ube breads, kakanins , Turon and several other items. Yeah I'll definitely come back. But anyway,

First greeting, the Cafe is quite empty. I didn't see a lot of customers. And If you are into quieter spots, this is my top recommendation! Very clean, modern cafe vibes, lights everywhere, and located in carson. Good Job to the staff for keeping the environment comfortable. The atmosphere feels so welcoming, although, very quiet. The Ube Milk Tea is heavenly. That may just be exaggeration...but seriously, I say this a Filipino in search of 'Ube' drinks that actually taste like the ube treats my mother would make--I feel awakened. The milk tea was sweet and refreshing, and the money was well spent on the drink. I am very much looking forward to tasting more of the treats they have on display and some of the other drinks. Thank You, Cafe 86. So excited to try more.

Parking was easy, and when we walked in, there was only one occupied table. Three employees were chatting in the back. We were greeted, but it felt more like, "What would you like?" than "Welcome in." No smile, no conversation, no thank you--just a transaction. After taking our order, the employee returned to chatting with coworkers. When our order was ready, our name was called, the halo-halo was placed on the counter, and that was the end of the interaction. As for the halo-halo itself, my partner rated it a 2/10. It was overwhelmingly sweet and overpriced for what we received. We were hoping for layers of flavor and nostalgia but got a sugar rush that could probably power a small city. As a business owner myself, I understand that customer service is one of the biggest drivers of customer retention. Great products can bring people in once, but great service brings them back. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark on both. The good news? These issues are fixable. A little more warmth, engagement, and hospitality would go a long way. Until then, we'll continue our search for our next favorite halo-halo spot.

Nonna has become our go to bakery, our sweet retreat, and one of our favorite local brunch spots. Now, they even have happy hour and, during the summer, dinner (Nonna Summer Nights)! And all of the food is amazing. Seriously, truly legit! We buy bread from there each week. No more "big box store" bread you freeze. They make their bread fresh daily. They only use fresh, locally sourced ingredients with no preservatives. It's nice to look at an ingredient list and not see a paragraph for bread (and be able to pronounce all the names!). And their cupcakes and sweets. Yo, seriously so good. And the thing is, because of the ingredients they use, we don't feel heavy or overly wired after eating cake or cupcakes from them. From other places you can tell they use preservatives, refined sugars, processed ingredients. But with Nonna, you can just taste the difference. We even had them make our special cake for our wedding! We recently tried their dinner (twice!) and it exceeded expectations. Now, mind you, all of their food has always been good but our experience was amazing. Their prix fixe menu was well put together, wine pairings on point, dessert was also delicious. Our favorite was the tiramisu! Also loved the spaghattini and casarecce pastas, and entrecôte di manzo, but everything was great. Their brunch is also great, you really can't go wrong on the menu. And I think we've gone through almost all of it! Finally, (if you've stayed with me this long!) the absolute best thing about Nonna for us is the TEAM. Hands down no question. The food is good, space is a comfortable neighborhood vibe, and all that. But truly the folks here are amazing humans. Always friendly, warm, and welcoming. If the management team is reading this, you all have a great group of people there! We will definitely be back (again and again and again) and you should too!

I spoke with a woman who took my name and confirmed the cancellation. The next day, I was hit with a $100 charge. It's shocking to see a restaurant that claims to be part of the community show absolutely no compassion when a family is dealing with an emergency. Charging someone after acknowledging a cancellation under those circumstances is unacceptable. This place clearly lacks the heart and humanity that a neighborhood business should have. I spoke with the restaurant manager Patrick after calling multiple times to speak with someone and he basically said he is not willing to refund the charge because they order food ahead of time. The food here is great but the service I received is awful.
