So Disappointed!!!!!!! We were only in town for a few days to pick a cake for our Wedding. We went to Reba's based on reviews, tasted 7 different cakes, All DRY and lacks flavor except the hummingbird which is a banana cake something we do not want for our wedding. We love cakes so this was a shock that we didn't even want to take more then 2 bites of them! Honestly we can not understand all the glowing reviews...maybe their other baked goods is their saving grace! Since we have no way of tasting any other bakery's we will be making our own! I wanted to love Sweet Rebas. I decided to try a new bakery for my dads 70th birthday . I called on a Tuesday and ordered for Saturday January 17 gave the date twice just to make sure needless to say I showed up on Saturday at 3 for my cake and pie and both were not made. They offered to deliver it to me later after 6 but being that the party was at 4 it wouldn't work. When you order in advance it's with the expectation that it will be ready. I came here based on the yelp reviews. I took off 2 stars because when I got there no one was wearing a mask, or gloves...I saw the baker (lady) taste test a dessert as I was ordering. She didn't seem concerned if anyone was looking. I prayed that my mom and I would be ok after eating them. I had a peanut butter cookie which was good, but could've used more peanut butter and been a little softer. The morning glory was good 4/5. Red velvet cake didn't have much flavor, & the icing didn't taste like cream cheese as her site states- my mom said she'd give it a 3/5. The blueberry cake slice, and blackberry lavender lemon slice she gave 4/5. The cinnamon donut cakes were nothing but sugar, no flavor! I had my little elopement wedding cake made with the carrot cake in a semi naked style. The reviews do not lie , their carrot cake really is one of the best I've had. And the cream cheese frosting, not to sweet. Overall the cake was both beautiful and delicious! And well decorated with flowers, figs and nuts, very similar to the photo I showed her. Cakes look nice but overall did not feel welcomed. Owner was rude like I was interrupting her day. I'm sorry if I'm trying to ask you questions about things and you couldn't take the time to answer them cause you were busy. Hopefully you stay busy because with that rude attitude you must be one great cake decorator. Customer service in my opinion is the #1 reason I will buy, return and buy more or never return again. We happened upon this cute little place by accident while we were having lunch nearby. We kept seeing people walking up and leaving with these beautiful looking cookies. So we made our way over. We ordered 2 peanut butter, 1 oatmeal cranberry and 2 pupcakes for our pups. Wow, great cookies and our pups were quite happy too. We'll be by on our next trip through the area! I really love Sweet Rebas and want to try everthing! So far her cakes are beyond wonderful, even better than Rosines. Soups are so good and so "homemade". I am a donut lover and there are not many good homemade donuts in Carmel so when I saw the Donut Cinnamon Muffins I couldn't wait. They are so beyond good but WAY TOO MUCH SUGAR for me. It was actually "gritty". Who knows, maybe most people actually want all that sugar and if so, I'm hoping she'll make half just lightly sugared because they were so warm and delish! I first tried Sweet Reba's when she had a stall at the Old Monterey farmers market; the first things I tried were the carrot cake and the blondie. Ridiculously delicious! Not too long after that I saw her signage go up in the Crossroads and waited happily for the shop to open up. Since then I've tried many things. I still love the carrot cake and the blondie, but in addition I love the ginger cookies (especially when still warm), the coconut joy, and the coffee cake. I have never had coffee cake that is so deliciously memorable: the crumb is so tender and the flavors and textures are addictive...like so many of her things! One thing I really enjoy is that her goods are not that sweet and the high quality of the ingredients is obvious. I also always get great, friendly service. read more

Wow! What a delightful surprise. Perfect little business. The treats looked amazing, and tasted even better. Ordered a peanut butter brownie and a butterscotch chip brownie. After a bite of each, we had to then get some cookies for later. The brownies were delicious and moist. Ordered an oatmeal and cream sandwich cookie and a chocolate cherry cookie. Both were delicious. The oatmeal cream sandwich cookie was crazy good. I wish we were staying longer so I could try more items. It's the cutest little walk up window. Prices were great. Reba you absolutely nailed it. I have paid more for far less quality products. It is a MUST try little shop. read more

We stopped in yesterday on our way back to San Francisco and ended up getting an assortment of things to try: snickerdoodle and ginger spice cookie, a coffee cake muffin, a raspberry lemonade cupcake, a mini pineapple upside down cake, and a slice of gluten free red velvet cake. I am a really tough critic, particularly with baked goods since I am a baker myself, I am constantly buying and then tossing out baked goods that are just waaaay too sweet. I was amazed to find that every single one of the things we bought were really good, while they were all sweet (as would be expected of cakes, cookies and cupcakes) none were sweetened to the point of no longer being able to taste anything besides the sugar (which is how I experience most baked goods from other cakes shops). I loved that the cream cheese frosting still tasted cream cheesy, and the raspberry frosting on cupcake still had a strong berry flavor. I wish I would have discovered Reba's at the beginning of our visit to Carmel, rather than our last day, but I am happy we found them and will be sure to visit whenever we are back in the area. Liked the chocolate chip cookie because of the softness in the middle. I prefer something that is soft all over, however. The size of the cakes is problematic for me because it's huge, tall, too much. Hope they'll offer up some single layer cakes sometimes. Just "discovered" this bakery when I was at the Crossroads Shopping Center today, although it opened in Oct 2019 - the owners are very nice, and the "Life by Chocolate" cake slice I tried was deliciously rich and chocolatey! Also ordered a cute cinnamon mini muffin (moist and flavorful) and a small cup of homemade Italian wedding soup w/ kale + sausage in clear chicken broth, an excellent lunch! You can taste the home cooked goodness in their food :) Looking forward to trying more of their selection next time. read more

I normally do not post reviews. I have given this bakery a few chances. I first ordered a birthday cake for my brother (carrot is his favorite). This cake was tasty and flavorful but overbaked. The devoration was very simple. I had hoped for better. My brother ordered myself a birthday cake the next month. It was a raspberry lemon. Again very overbaked..... crust was very dark and sponge dry. Little lemon curd and raspberry filling. We actually gave it away. Last chance Reba. We purchased two pies for Thanksgiving... pumpkin and pecan. Pecan had loads of pecans and less brown sugar filling.... but the crust I believe was phyllo. It became saturated with the sugar and cut like and tasted like wet cardboard. Pecan is my all time fave and this did not work..... also overbaked. The oumpkin was the only thing that was not overbaked but it lacked flavor... bland, not enough pumpkin spice. Sorry guys, we will. Not be back. read more

Sweet Reba's has delicious flavor combinations and is so easy to work with. Came from Texas for a destination wedding and everything was done over the phone and a few emailed pictures. She not only did the small individual wedding cake for my husband and I, but individually boxed cupcakes for our guests. (COVID was not going to stop us!) Blackberry Lavender Lemon, Life by Chocolate, and Apple Pie Cake were all a big hit. She did a birthday cake for my new father-in law's birthday the day after we got married, Lemon all the way, and she even tempted my husband with her Snickerdoodles, Brownies, and Blondies in the window display when we stopped by her store.
