I have been wanting to go here for years. Finally made it! Yay me! This place is quirky little gem. Small menu but mighty! Everything is fresh and homemade. I was welcomed in. All the workers worked well together and had each others backs. You order at the counter. They give you a number and they tell you we will bring it to you. You can sit inside, outside under a covered patio , tables with umbrellas or picnic table with no cover next to a beautiful wall of bamboo and mixed trees. I order the falafel wrap. She told me they make them and the lemon tahini sauce. Love that! I was so excited could not wait to sink my teeth into that wrap. They also make sweet potato fries that seem to be a crowd favorite. I Choose not to. I really wanted clean potato chips but they did not have them on the menu. I also order fresh Jasmin tea. They do not add sugar to their tea. Perfect! I Chose to sit outside at the table with the umbrellas that faced their planters that attracted bees and butterflies and soaked up a little sun while sipping on my tea and watching nature waiting for my lunch. It was a perfect place to wait. The falafel wrap was simple but so fresh. Had a little crunch small size falafels chopped up inside with lettuce, tomatoes, purple onions and homemade lemon tahini sauce with some on the side to dip each bit in for extra protein. Yummo! Presentation of the two side of the wrap was well connected with a large stick one flat and standing up. It was so good I came back the next day and ordered another one with 2 extra falafel on the side and brought my own Seite potato chips and sucked it down with another glass of jasmine tea. So relaxing and nice place to get recharged. Oh! Almost forgot to tell you that all the deserts are homemade with tons of gluten free and vegan option. I tried the flat crusted pastry tart with almond cream center and fresh raspberries. Not sweet but savory and delicious. Took two bites and saved the rest for later will! It was even better after it sat out all day. I gobbled it up and licked the parchment paper. lol! You remember I went back the next day. Ok! I order another desert. Oh my stars! The chocolate chip blonde. Was so sinful. I could only have one bit. Listen everybody! You will not want to go back to work after experiencing this little piece of heaven.
Been here twice now and the food is very good. Never thought a vegan restaurant would be a destination spot, but I like it a lot! Service is always kind, the portions are huge, and the flavors are wonderful. I keep ordering the falawsome, and never manage to catch a picture, but my daughter ordered the Reuben and I snapped one of it. Wow, that's one tasty sandwich. There aren't any frills here, just good food. I already can't wait to go back.
This vegetarian restaurant is a mostly outdoor setup, with a few picnic tables set up, and some seats shaded with others not. Quite a few people shared. It's a bit out in the sticks; oddly the only other business nearby is a meat shop. Somebody here took the stop sign and put a sticker on it to troll the butchers I think. I got a Thai tea which had an interesting spice flavor and lasted until my meal came. They had a sandwich special with blackened tofu and Cajun sauce that I thought would be tasty and it was. I am a bit miffed that in choosing a side, I got charged extra for a salad, which really wasn't that big of a salad. Other people's sides like fries and hummus looked more worthwhile. Particularly odd for a vegetarian restaurant to punish you for picking the healthier choice. But for a vegetarian looking for food in the Florida panhandle, this is a worthwhile find.
I've been looking for a new vegetarian restaurant in town and this place really hit the spot. This was my first time trying their food and it was very good. I'm almost embarrassed that I waited this long to try them out. For my first time I had the cheese quesadilla and the sweet potato fries. I try to eat meatless on Monday so it was a nice change up for me. Both items were very good and I enjoyed them. I have to come back later so I can try the dessert.
Sweet pea Cafe is one of a kind! The dining experience is nice. The restaurant may seem a bit small inside but very spacious outside, very vibrant and cute! The servers are very nice and was very patient with us deciding what to order. The menu especially the baked goods varies from week to week almost day to day sometimes. Eating at Sweet pea cafe is like eating at home. Their food are made from scratch and made with delicate ingredients since the menu's all vegetarian! I appreciate their crafts because their food is delicious!! In addition, they almost always have limited time specials of the day that feeds your adventurous side, just check out their social medias!
I've come here several times and I'm never disappointed. I love that they are totally vegan and eco-friendly. Besides that, the food is always excellent. The Buffalo tofu sandwich is my favorite. They had sparkling lemonade as a special on the day I went- it was super bubbly and had just the right amount of sweetness. My table mates enjoyed their black bean burger and quesadilla. The carrot ginger slaw was a big hit. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. I love this place and can't wait to return!
If you coming down I10 and don't mind a little drive stop by here. It was definitely worth the stop. Top tier customer service. The food is delicious and so is the lemonade. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather while we ate.
A wonderful vegan cafe! I'm so glad that I stopped here on a cross-country road trip for some food. I ordered ahead (no dine in) and had the Reuben sandwich and poutine. It was all very filling! I have high standards for a vegan Reuben sandwich. I've tried many across America, but the rueben at Sweet Pea might just be the best I've had anywhere. It was a heaping sandwich, packed with flavor and color. Poutine is not commonly found in the states, especially in the South, so I knew I had to try some. Wow! I always crave fries and this was a deliciously loaded side. I appreciated that the fries under the cheesy gravy were not soggy! I loved the food so very much, but I do have a minor complaint about the ordering process. It might not even be their fault... As I was traveling, I strategically ordered ahead. The website said food would be ready to pick up in 40 minutes. Great! I timed just trip so that I would get there a few minutes early, just in case. Shockingly, I got a message 20 minutes later that my food was done 30 minutes early. When I picked up the food, the sandwich and poutine were already cold. I still enjoyed my meal, but maybe there's a way to fix the timing issue with orders? As a result, you might plan on showing up extra early if you order ahead. Overall, I thought the food was amazing here and I'd love to come back sometime!
What a good stop along our route home. They're friendly and their food is tasty. They need a Yelp sticker. I forgot to take a picture of all the stickers they do have. I saved the 2 desserts for later because I'm very full from my delicious lunch. I got the special with sweet potato fries and tasted my husband's side of pickled veggies. Which were amazing!! Outdoor seating on a perfect day with a cool breeze and dog friendly.
As a frequent meat eater, I must say Sweet Pea is flavorful and fulfilling even if the person eating there is not vegan or even vegetarian. To date, I have been to Sweet Pea a handful of times and they never disappoint! I few of my favorites are the Buffalo sandwich and I last tried the falafel wrap. My daughter and her friend imbibed in their vegan baked goods and both remarked at how they were delicious and tasted no different than a traditional baked good made with cow-based dairy products. The service is always polite and fast as well. There is a nice outdoor area to sit and eat and they take part in recycling and composting for green-oriented customers.
Outside sitting and brunch... simple, small and easy going Sweet Pea sits just off the street. Order at the counter and they will bring it out to you in short order. I choose the "tofuevos ranchero", which was quite delish and very filling. Tofu scramble with rice beans and tomato on two corn tortillas. The cumin was a bit strong for my preference, but it was still a good start to my day. They were out of a few things I would liked to have tried, but this is a small and vegan focused place. Most enjoyable was sitting outside on a warm winter morning enjoying a good meal.
We stopped in Tallahassee for lunch on our way to Orlando. We usually try to find something local and unique when traveling, and I found this place on Yelp! The menu was great! I've never had or heard of tempeh before which was one of their protein options. I'm pretty adventurous so I had to give it a try! It was super good! I also found it quite ironic that there was a meat shop next door to this vegan restaurant...
Had the buffalo tofu sandwich and it was excellent! Not too spicy but full of flavor! The Rueben and black bean burger were also delicious! I've heard the falawesome is also great, but sadly they were out of falafel. Had a couple of lattes that were very good also. Cute little place where you order at the counter and they bring it to you. Sit outside if the weather is nice, inside is a little small and can get Smokey. Would definitely return! read more
This place has the hole in the wall, punk rock vibes that I love, so relaxing with friendly people. I got the Caesar wrap and it was huge, enough for two meals, and so delicious. It has blackened tofu which I had never had, with lettuce, croutons and a dressing that they make. The food preparation was also really fast, which isn't always the case in a busy restaurant. I appreciated that because I was on a work trip, and I ate my wrap there and was back on the road really quickly. I hope I am in Tallahassee again soon and have the chance to stop in! (Note: I'm a vegetarian.) read more

I was spending the day in Tallahassee and my co worker kindly sought out local vegan restaurants which is how we ended up at Sweet Pea cafe! It's a little unassuming place next to, of all places, a meat store. It has a cool vibe inside with mismatched tables and chairs which add to the appeal. I tried the Falafel wrap with sweet potato fries and their Kombucha drink - all were great! The portions are huge and I could only get through most of one half of the wrap but the sweet potato fries were delicious and though I rarely order fries, I could not leave these behind!! Great dishes, fast service, great prices, I was a fan! read more
Prior to visiting family in Tallahassee I looked up restaurants with vegan options and vegan restaurants. Sweet Pea Cafe was always the first of few options. Also, a few friends of my daughter had eaten here some time ago and highly recommended it. As the only vegan in the group I get a chance to pick a spot to dine at least once They are currently only doing takeout and curb side pick up. There were six of us ordering and we ordered the tacos, a quesadilla, a Cesar wrap, two black bean burgers (mine was the one without the pretzel bun), a carrot ginger slaw and a side of poutine fries. I was so impressed with the presentation of the food and it was all so delicious. I took a taste of everyone's food and everyone loved their food. I definitely say give this place a try!!! read more

Ok so once in a while I have to go vegan for religious purposes. I am by nature a meat eater. However this place does not disappoint! Food: The food here is pretty awesome and frankly very impressive that it's vegan/vegetarian! It's very tasty and honestly I was very satisfied. I can tell that it's not meat honestly but I wasn't at all upset about it. Very creative menu and very impressive taste. Service/decor: Service was polite and friendly and they answered all our questions cause we had a lot. Decor I can't really comment on because it was a very small place worth outside seating. Let's just say you're not coming for the view or a fancy dinner here. read more

Hair in my food, up charge to sides that are posted as dishes that COME WITH SIDES. $12.50 for 3 tacos and a salad with an up charge of 2.00 making this horrible excuse for a dinner 14.50 when I can MAKE THIS AT HOME BETTER. Which is what I will be doing from now on. I've been frequenting this establishment for the last 4 years and to be told that an up charge is what they've always done was a FLAT OUT LIE. I have basically given up on good vegan food, servsafe certified line cooks. The nice picture of this special is what I wanted and the trash I received, well that's what I got I suppose. And the employee giving attitude and horrible customer service needs to be trained better like half of the employees in Tallahassee. Y'all really hate your job that much go do something else! Food is supposed to be made with love and something to bring us together. This experience right here is going to have me cooking at home for the rest of my life. Because let's be real it's better when you know who's intentions are going into the food and hair apparently. That is disgusting and it's a health code violation. Get it together Sweet Pea. Y'all need to change y'all's name to Sour Pea. SWEET PEA CAFE WILL NEVER BE GETTING MY MONEY EVER TF AGAIN. read more

I visited this cafe twice while in Tallahassee because the Big Salad is just so delicious! They serve vegan meals and the most wonderful desserts! I tried the chocolate cheesecake, the Hello Dolly, the blonde, both kinds of cookie sandwiches and a cupcake. read more
FOOD/DRINKS: The menu is pretty small but I didn't have a problem finding something that I liked. I found the food to be very flavorful, tasty and the portion sizes were appropriate. the food tasted extremely fresh and I thought this was a huge plus. SERVICE: The staff are knowledgeable and super friendly. They definitely aim to please. I love visiting and supporting family owned establishments. ATMOSPHERE: Casual. Quaint. This restaurant is small and quaint and offers cute little tables outside to enjoy your food. Their patio is also pet friendly. LOCATION: Small lot. Decent parking. PROs- Food quality and service CONs- Some may find the menu to be extremely limited. read more
This food was incredible, no need for a qualifier that it's "good for vegan food." It's incredible AND vegan. I got the daily lunch special this afternoon and really enjoyed it. It was a little messy but that doesn't matter when the food was as good as it was. The sweet potato fries? I have to be in a mood for sweet potato anything and that strikes rarely but these fries? All day, everyday, any day. Delicious. This was just my first visit so I can't wait to try more of the menu options, including the yummy looking pastries/desserts and the ever changing specials. Go ahead and follow their Instagram feed to see the specials on display, they all look so good and hit me with major FOMO that I hadn't tried this place sooner. I love that they have a compost can where you can essentially dump all your food waste, thus feeling better about your carbon footprint. The place is super quaint, and everything from the food to the plates to the deck scream home comfort. read more

I lucked out finding the Sweet Pea Cafe thanks to the Happy Cow app. It was cozy inside, the staff was SUPER friendly, and the food was great! I ended up chatting with a regular (Hi, Sam!) who gave me all sorts of tips as to what was good and ended up leaving with dinner to go. If they have it (I was told it's only made once in a while depending on the local items they source), try the potato salad. It was excellent! My wrap was great as was the quesadilla I took back to the hotel. I'm going again when I'm back in town...I saw they have vegan poutine. I hear the gravy is good so that's a definite "must try" for next time. read more

Not a repeat. My burger was good. The tacos were tasteless. Both the regular and sweet potato fries were black and over done. The ice tea was strange and the lemonade way too sweet They should sweep the trash away from the outside the front doors and sitting areas read more
This is my second time here. The food still very good for vegan cuisine. Time to time I like to have the healthiest food that can be serve with good taste. This restaurant is one of the better one I like. The place look hippie but definitely have good food. Sweet Peas has all the correct healthy ingredients and the taste is almost like what they have described. We have the spicy BLT and Tempeh Reuben. I would said where is the bacon but taste like bacon. There is tofu like bacon taste and good imitation of the taste. It very good sandwich. The Tempeh Reuben is interesting. You know the Tempeh is soy product that originated from Indonesia. This sandwich is ok. I would said if they did not put the sour cabbage, the taste will be better. Overall experience is good. I like one of the side - carrots ginger Asian slaw. This is good carrot in very good dressing. It is fun to eat it. read more
