The ingredients are ridiculously fresh, the topping selection is next-level, and they've got options other poke spots don't even think about. But the real magic happens when you start building the bowl like a slightly unhinged food scientist. Wasabi peas? Elite move. Crunch, heat, excitement... maybe a minor sinus cleansing. Then hit it with the chili oil, which somehow creates this sweet-and-spicy combo that makes your taste buds stand up and slow clap. Toss in the dried seaweed with the seaweed salad and now we're dealing with textures like a Michelin chef who listens to EDM. And here's the veteran move: double the protein for six bucks. That's not an upsell, that's a public service announcement. The atmosphere is fun, the staff is always upbeat and helpful, and the whole place has that "you're about to have a good meal" energy the second you walk in. Excellent friendly service is key to success and making regular customers. If i still lived in Tallahassee i would be a regular, friendly suggestions pointed out my favorite ingredients to make lunch a delicious poke bowl that was a treat. Small but spacious location right off the highway was a perfect pit stop for a quick bite during a road trip. If i wasn't so hungry i'd have taken a pic, the food looked just as delicious as it was. Not the absolute BEST poke I've ever had, but very good. The service, however, was among the friendliest and most efficient I've ever experienced, making this place an absolute gem. They have a few options that they call "signature" bowls if you don't feel like thinking too hard. Otherwise, it's your traditional assembly-line poke. Pick your protein, rice base, mix-ins etc. Prices are reasonable. The place was spotless. Plenty of seating. Easy nearby parking lot with both a front and rear entrance. Sadly, they were out of Dole pineapple soft-serve, though they couldn't have been more apologetic. read more

Love love LOVE Island Fin Poke Co.! As someone with Celiac Disease, it's always a welcomed experience to eat at a place where you don't have to worry. Basically everything is gluten free here, aside from a few obvious toppings. Everything is in separate containers, so there's limited worry about cross contamination. The employees are very considerate and answer any questions you may have, addressing concerns. All marinades are GF, using gluten free soy sauce. But most of all, the seaweed salad (my fave) is GF and delish!! What a dream. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Love this place! Tried it out after seeing it on seed oil scout. I was craving a poke bowl and they did not disappoint. First of all, it is huge, you can easily split it. Second, toppings are generous which is always a plus. Third, ingredients all look and taste very fresh. In terms of service, I believe it was the owner that was here when I was here and he was extremely friendly and transparent when I asked about restaurant practices (because of the raw fish). You hardly ever get to see such friendly service and a higher up that also does the bowl making/cashier work. Lastly, the ambiance is amazing. I brought my two year old and he LOVED the couch area. Wanted to give this place a try, particularly since I love "healthy" bowls. It is your typical "pick your base, pick your protein, pick your other fixings/toppings, pick your sauce" type restaurant. I was not really impressed and it may be due to the combination I chose (chicken, shrimp, octopus), along with the sauce, and my request to "warm" my bowl! I should probably just stick with Cava, Vale Food Company, and Kairos! LOL! In any case, though there is a small chance that I may try my hand at a bowl again, I am stuck on the Ice Cream treats - delicious!!! The Dole Soft Serve is my second favorite cold treat next to a Good Berry bowl! This place is fabulous! The food is fresh and healthy, and it reminds me of being in Hawa'ii. The owner Luke is very friendly and accommodating. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and they are pet friendly with dog water bowls. This is a lovely franchise that it is locally owned and operated. There are lots of cool things on the wall including surfboards with Tallahassee on them. You can customize your bowl with us to 3 proteins and a variety of toppings. The base is your choice of white rice, brown rice, or spring mix. There are so many things to add including fresh chopped pineapples, mangoes, jalapeños, edamame, and lots of choices of sauces. On Tuesdays the premium toppings including avocado, roe, and krab are free. There is also happy hour every late afternoon where the Dole whips (delicious soft serve dessert) are half price. I went in January for the first time for the Island Poké anniversary with a friend. She is a regular, and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. The store is located in market street and has parking in the front and back. It was extremely clean and the bathrooms were immaculate. We had excellent customer service and the guys running the counter made suggestions and explained everything. The 1st time I had poke I was on vacation (while living in Guam which is a vacation itself) to Sam's Tours Palau - at their restaurant I saw so many ppl eating what looked & smelled fantastic so I had to try it. It was raw ahi tuna in a garlic soy sauce with thinly sliced onions, nori (dried seaweed) & im sure other things I can't recall. After vacation I found Poké everywhere. It wasn't until I started seeing it as an appetizer stateside w/ rice that I longed for it without anything else again. There was a little Hawaiian restaurant near our home in San Diego where I could get ono poke by the 1/2 lb then we transferred to Hawaii where the commissary kept fresh Poké daily at the fish counter so I was in heaven. Upon my turn in line today at Island Fin Poke I was delighted to discover I didn't have to have rice or salad greens with my bowl. I did get some toppings (they have plenty to choose) & a few squirts of toppings & my fav drink, Hawaiian Sun Lilikoi (passionfruit). Soooo happy! read more

We had a brown rice with tuna and octopus bowl and a chicken bowl with white rice and an orange soft serve. All it was very good. Loved the orange creamsicle in a cup. My favorite! I love the decor and theming in this Poké bowl restaurant. What was really great was getting to enjoy some Dole Whip ice cream after our meal. They also have quite a variety of drinks. My bowl was great! One sauce I normally like with the Poké bowls is the shrimp sauce that is pink and I didn't see that one as an option. There were lots of unique sauces/ custom in house creations to pick from that I have not seen in other places. They 'cook' the shrimp in acid ceviche style rather than frying it tempura style. This was nice. They also have octopus as a protein and it is 'cooked' the same way. The dole whip we tried (flavors change regularly) was pineapple/ orange swirl. Delicious! read more

If you love sushi you'll love this place. Think of it as a deconstructed sushi as you create your own personal poke bowl. For the squeamish only the ahi tuna and salmon are raw, everything else is cooked. I was excited to see they offered octopus, growing up in HI I'm very particular about my seafood and Island Fin's octopus was very tender and their ahi was equally delicious. Pick your proteins, veggies, spices and toppings / sauces. Price is fair for how fresh it is. They also have the canned Hawaiians juices that I basically grew up on in Hawaii when I'd visit my dad. They are extremely helpful, explaining each step of the "build your own bowl" process, and we're very patient. There are loads of options to choose from and I thought the quality of the food was very good. I would recommend looking over the options before you order because (if you're like me) it may be overwhelming to order from the various options without some prep. The prices are very reasonable as well. If you don't want to build your own bowl, they do have a few bowls that you can order from a preset menu. Along with your bowl, you can order chips, drinks or dole whips. There were loads of drinks to choose from and the dole whip was so delicious. We had a great experience at the new Island Fin Poke in Market Square this weekend. It was super easy and relatively fast for how busy they were. I would not be intimidated by the length of the line or on how to build your bowl. The staff were very helpful and were all moving with a purpose. The line also helped me watch others and see what options there are so when it was my turn I had a plan Anyway, everything was fresh and yummy. We went after playing golf and I was so hungry. I left feeling full but not in a bad way. So much so my wife and I had what we were all excited about. The Doke pineapple whip soft serve. Omg, it was so good. They also had watermelon soft serve as well. And yes, they will do a mix. As a matter of fact, they seem happy to accommodate pretty much any request I observed while there. There is also a little back story. We had driven from Eastern Leon County the weekend after their soft opening assuming they would be open. However we were a day early. I had posted about it on social media that we can't wait to go there and we're disappointed they weren't open yet. Well the owner Mr. Luke told us to let him know and he would get our bowls. Something completely unnecessary. We want to support small local business. So we didn't mention it and just were eating our bowl and Mr. Luke was clearing tables and talking to the patrons asking if things were good. So at that point I introduced myself and said we were stoked they were open and so busy. He said that he said to say something and he would have bought our bowls. I told him we were fine and we're happy and everything was great. You know he insisted on giving me a free bowl on my next visit. We really felt like valued customers. And looking around the room we were not alone. So go, you'll love it too. And get the pineapple whip. read more

Took a chance and stopped in today for lunch. We are so glad we did!! We were first greeted by Deacon who asked us if we had ever been in before. When we told him no he gave a thorough description of everything and how to place our order. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious!! The restaurant was very clean and the owners that waited on us were the nicest people! They talked with us through out our meal and were very hospitable. We are from Thomasville but all we could talk about on the way home was how delicious our meal was and which of our friends we were going to bring back. Deacon, the owners son, was pleasantly polite and obviously dedicated to the family business. Loved the meal and the people.
