    The small roll
    Kenneth S.

I was trying out a new hotel and decided to find the nearest place to eat. Kami Poke was the closest. I really love good sashimi and poke. Tonight I ordered the traditional Hawaiian ahi tuna poke bowl plus the FSU roll and the tuna and crème cheese roll. You order at the counter and take a seat. The cook pr a runner brings it out to you. This place is very much a strip center restaurant, but it has the feel of a genuine Asian place that just happens to be in a strip center. The dining room is very fast food. Nothing really special. They're nice pictures on the wall and all that, but it is not fancy in the least. Your food comes out very quickly. And as previously discussed, it comes to your table. My poke bowl was very fresh and had tasty cucumbers and seaweed salad and what I think might've been arugula. If it was a arugula, it was definitely a mild variety. The Aji tuna was wonderful so was the cucumber and the fruit that was in there, I think it was a nectarine. It was very wonderful and the rice was good too. The cream cheese roll was really just basic, it was clean. It tasted good. There was plenty of fish, but it was a small roll as it says on the menu small rolls. Then there was the FSU role. It is described as a large role. It is a huge role. I could've used it as my entire meal. It is a cooked roll. It comes out warm very warm and it is the closest thing to Midwestern comfort food that I have ever had in an Asian restaurant. It was soft. It was warm. It was like a hug from your mom. That is if your mom makes incredibly good sushi. It was crunchy where it was supposed to be crunchy. It was firm where it was supposed to be firm, but it was without a doubt one of the best sushi rolls that I have had in the last 30 years. That is no hollow praise, I have had sushi on two continents in across the United States, and Canada and across Europe. It was amazing. So if you want an incredibly good, but not horribly expensive Hawaiian or Asian or sushi type meal, try this place They also have bull Gogi, but I did not try it. I was in the mood for fish.

This place is amazing! I was so surprised given the "no frills" cafe-style vibe. I equally love sushi and Korean food and they do both SO WELL!!

    Crazy Roll

I was Tallahassee for the day recently and tried this place based on Google and Yelp reviews alone. There were so many things on the menu that sounded amazing, but we narrowed it down to 3 signature and 3 small rolls. They were very friendly and accommodating, and had our to-go order packaged up so nicely. The fish was very fresh. The 3 signature rolls were phenomenal. Next time I'll try more signature options over the small rolls because those were definitely our least favorite. We ordered the Adventure Island, King Kong, Crazy, New York, and Salmon Tempura Rolls along with a special order for my child who has to have a crab and cream cheese roll wherever we go. We'll definitely be back! I can't wait to try some of their appetizers and poke bowls. Their menu has so many great options I feel sure there's something for everyone to enjoy. (I included pics w/ my review)

Second time here. It was still pretty good, trying new things. I have been wanting to try Yakitori here for a while. The staff and service is polite or busy throwing down in the kitchen. The ambiance is pretty cool also, a lot of anime inspired illustrations throughout the restaurant. Will likely be back to try other Korean dishes.

beef bibimbap (comes with house salad) and shumai (shrimp dumplings)

I've ordered from Kami Poke numerous times, and every time I go, it always hits! The food there is absolutely delicious. Recently I got the beef bibimbap, and it was amazing as usual. It has rice, a good amount of nicely seasoned beef, a fried egg, kimchi, and an assortment of veggies like broccoli and pickled radish. All of it meshes so well! They also provide a chili-type sauce to pour on top and that elevated the flavor. It was ~$15 for everything, which I find reasonable since it lasted me two solid meals. The one complaint I have is that the kimchi didn't taste fresh, but it was given to me on the side so it didn't affect the flavor of the bibimbap. I also got a side of shumai (shrimp dumplings) and that hit the spot as well! It was tasty by itself, but you have to eat it with the sauce for maximum deliciousness. The only problem is that it cost $8 for about 4-5 dumplings, which is a bit pricey in my opinion given the size of them (about the size of one and a half quarters). When it comes to service, it isn't as warm. That's neither a good nor bad thing, just something to expect if you order here. It's simply a transactional interaction; you get in, get your food, and get out. They have a lot of seating available, but I've only ever gotten to-go orders so I can't speak on sit-down experiences. Overall, there's nothing special about the ambiance. I go for the food.

So fresh and tasty! This was my first poke experience and it was surely worth the wait. It was super easy to build our own bowls and they were delicious. We didn't order the fried chicken but the table next to us did and it smells amazing. I like that we ordered at the counter and they brought the food to us, nice and casual. I will be getting takeout from here again!

I can't rave about Kami Poke enough. This restaurant was absolutely delicious and we tried many (many) things. The restaurant itself is pretty cool too - loads of artwork and a decent amount of tables. It was very clean and the service was so quick. The staff was very nice as well. Now, on to the food! For my two year old, we got edamame, miso soup and a California roll. All were very tasty. She gobbled them down and that's saying something for a toddler. My husband and I shared an Hawaiian Tuna Poke Bowl, Korean Corn Dog and the Bulgogi. All were delicious. We may have gotten an extra order of Korean Corn dogs to go. The food has great flavor and quality ingredients. I don't have a bad critique about anything. I would highly recommend trying this place out.

Excellent Sushi!!! Best I have ever had. The Tokyo roll was off the charts good. Also had Shrimp Tempura which was very good. Husband had the Fire Dragon and said it was amazing!! We can't wait to come back again.

Kami poke is a has a bit of a split personality, selling both Korean and Japanese food, with some Chinese take out staples included in the mix. We have ordered take out and delivery from them a number of times, and each time the food was excellent. This time we started with Krab Rangoon and Takoyaki and then moved on to chicken japche and beef bulgogi. The krab Rangoon was light and well fried, with a tasty filling. The takoyaki are small soft balls of octopus in a fantastic sauce. They were wonderful. The beef bulgogi was excellent. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The japche was equally wonderful: chicken was moist, noodles still had some bite to them and the veggies were fresh. The entrees came with a very small container of Kim chi and an even smaller container of lettuce with ginger dressing. The Kim chi was great, but I'm glad I had some more in the refrigerator (they also sell a larger side dish of Kim chi). The dressing was excellent, making me wish I had ordered a larger salad. If you are looking for Korean food to go Kami Poke works be great choice.

One of my new favorite restaurants in Tallahassee! I commend any business owner starting things up during Covid. Seriously, a starting a business is already a struggle and the circumstances posed by the pandemic make everything so much more difficult. But Kami Poke has done a great job of keeping their customers safe while offering great dishes that have kept me coming back week after week. Their build your poke bowls, along with the korean beef bibimap, have now become staples in my diet over the course of the last few months. Everything tastes so fresh, portion sizes are large, and the ordering process is super simple. While I haven't tried the vast majority of the items on the menu since the poke keeps drawing me in, I trust that those dishes are just as tasty. Seriously, give Kami a try if you're looking for a quick and delicious poke spot!

Ok, I'm just going to say it....if you have a nose sensitive to certain smells then this is not the place for you to sit and dine in.

First time I tried Korean food and I am impressed. Loved the combination of meat, rice, vegetables and salad. Currently they don't offer inside nor outside seating due to COVID. But ordering online makes pick up even easier.

    Great good!

Julian -- the manager, bartender, and waiter -- took care of me, and his service was attentive with great recommendations. I ordered the Soft Shell Crab Roll, which was delicious and worth the price. The Amazing Tuna Roll was fine, but overpriced for the quality of tuna used. The Lychee Margarita was outstanding and unique, and the Kirin Ichiban Light was crisp and refreshing. My colleagues tried several dishes, including the Big Bang Shrimp. The shrimp were large, but the sauce was too heavy and overly mayonnaise-based. The Miso Soup and House Salad were both flavorful. Overall, the service was great, the atmosphere was quaint and cozy, and while some items felt overpriced, the experience was still enjoyable.
