Spicy Chicken Bulgogi, rice and kimchi.
Aaron C.

I happened to be staying in Tallahassee for the week for training. I have lived in South Korea twice for a year each time and I miss the food the most. I stopped in to order the Chicken Bulgogi and asked if they could make it spicy. The staff was extremely kind and suggested I take some pepper powder just in case because they didn't want to make it too spicy. This was an excellent suggestion as it let me control how much more I wanted to add. The food was excellent and immediately took me back. If you are looking for an authentic experience with a courteous staff definitely give this place a shot. I will be coming back the next time I am in town.

Beef Bulogi, Egg, and White Rice

This is one of my favorite local restaurants. I've been eating their food since they were on Tennessee street. Their in a new location but it's still the same great food and service. This time was no different. I had the beef bulogogi as I usually do and I added egg. It was very good. There only open to-go at this point so that's one thing to keep in mind.

Deliciously cooked meals with super friendly and amazing staff. They are family-owned and treat their employees like family as well. I have a soft spot for Korean Barbeque & More since my fiancé used to work here when he was in college and he always talks about how kind Mr. Swan, the restaurant owner, was and how he took care of them well. Korean Barbeque & More has all the basic Korean meat dishes you could crave!! Their meat bowls include beef bulgogi, pork bulgogi, or chicken bulgogi. All the meat dishes come with rice, kimchi, and miso soup (free of charge). A nice pro-tip for an even better meal is to add the egg, which is only an extra $1 more-- SIGNIFICANTLY WORTH IT. Based off our group voting (where everyone ordered a different one and tried each), beef bulgogi seems to be a big winner, but pork bulgogi is not too far behind. Some might argue they enjoy the pork bulgogi more because it has a bit more spice to it. We love that everything is made SO FRESH and comes out so hot. It's also so nice to wait for your food because you can smell all the amazing smells, mainly that beef bulgogi, cooking through the air. MAKES ME DROOL. The kimchi is a great level of fermented and sour, just what I like. And the miso soup is so yummy with the tofu and real seaweed. A good amount of seaweed too!! YUM. In addition to the meat bowls, they also have different rice bowls, like Bibimbap, bibimbap with beef, and a sashimi bowl. I haven't tried these yet, but I've heard good things if you enjoy bibimbap!! There is soup and noodle options as well, from japchae with or without beef to kimchi stew and dumpling soup. My absolute favorite is the kimchi stew. SO MUCH TOFU AND KIMCHI IN THE STEW AND IT IS SO GOOD. Also, it is served with rice, miso soup, and kimchi (yes, more kimchi!!) free of charge. YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO EAT THE STEW WITH RICE--there is no other way for this to be consumed haha. There is a hefty amount of soup and could almost serve two people!! The japchae is also yummy with all the toppings a great portions. When we ate here, they were take-out only, but based off our conversation with Mr. Swan, he said they plan to open dine-in at the end of September. Overall, such a wonderful and enjoyable experience ordering and eating Korean Barbeque & More food. Can't wait to visit and say hi to Mr. Swan another time soon!

I just got done eating and had to alert people of this restaurant. It is amazing. I would go as far as calling it soul healing. I hadn't had the greatest week and their dumpling soup felt so comforting that I immediately started feeling like a warm embrace. This food is made with care and passion. It is flavorful and does not rely on salt to give it flavor. I will always get their soup on rainy days. I hadn't been back since the pandemic and the place was full of couples sitting and enjoying great food. The staff was beyond friendly and welcoming. I found a new go to place on Tally.

pork bolgogi

My favorite restaurant in tally. a smaller menu thats easy to pick from because every food item is perfect. My favorite part of this place has to be the service though hands down. Warm, welcoming, and always sweet. I think the owner is the one cooking on the line, and he'll personally check up on you if things are slow. ive only seen a smile on him. all in all i recommend. great food and great people.

Little hole in the wall that my boyfriend and his sister showed me. Everyone is very nice and each entree comes with kimchi and miso soup. I'm very big on miso soup and there was a self serve station. I ordered the beef bulgogi and the rice was very yummy.

Beef Bibimbap

This is one of my favorite places in Tallahassee! Friendly people and great food. I've enjoyed the beef bulgogi, pork bulgogi, japchae, and bibimbap. All come with rice and complimentary miso and kimchi.

Korean beef!!! :)

First timer and really looking forward to it. Rice malt: it has an acquired taste but is good, different and very refreshing. 5 stars. Kimchi soup: it was ok but I am not a fan of spicy food. Also, for my taste, it lacked texture. 2.5 stars. Korean Beef: I was expecting a lot more but I was disappointed :( It is "meh" and not memorable. It was seasoned ok but the texture was off. However the rice was better Price: very affordable! 5 stars. I will try this place one more time and purchase the dumpling soup.

The pricing is fantastic! Only 27.99 per person for dinner which is wonderful because you have to pay extra for leftovers. The taste of the food was great and my boyfriend and I got to try new things on date night. We went for 3 rounds with 3 Soju Shots which was great and good pricing as well. I can't wait to go back, the servers were also very kind. My favorite thing about it is the spacing and the whole vibe of the restaurant.

Over the course of our dinner, we chose the Galbi short ribs, Hawaiian beef, wine, pork belly, shrimp, octopus and vegetables from the main menu, lettuce to wrap around the protein and the crispy pork belly appetizer. I enjoyed everything but the octopus, but my favorites were the short rib and the Cajun shrimp. There was a robot that brought the food to us, which was neat. For dessert we got little cups of ice cream, chocolate, strawberry or vanilla. FYI, it's all you can eat, but you have to pay if you take food with you. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and the food. Our server James did a great job. I would like to go there with more people so we can try more items before we get full.

The buffet has a huge variety of foods to sample and boil for your dinner: including thinly sliced meats, preparations of tofu, noodles and dumplings, fish chunks, vegetables, exotic mushrooms and seaweeds. And a large assortment of marine invertebrates. There are seven different soup broths -- from simple miso-styles to Thai lemongrass styles. And a variety of dipping seasonings. We had a blast, trying different foods and flavors. This restaurant also has Korean cuisine: kimchi, dang myeon starch noodles, tteok rice logs for your soup, miyeok seaweed, seasoned meat slices. They have grills for doing Korean Galbi in-table grilled cuisine also. Note the name has changed: it is Lao Jia Hot Pot. Same place, same phone number, new name. Note also: I think you can't get traditionally-served prepared dishes. This restaurant has Hot Pot or Galbi, you get your ingredients from the buffet and cook your food at your table.

Although no one was at the front when I first arrived, the owner quickly came out, seated me, and checked in throughout my meal to make sure everything was going well. His hospitality set a great tone for the visit. My server, Romeo, was outstanding--friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. He took the time to explain how hot pot works, helped set up my table, and offered excellent broth and food recommendations. The broth temperature was perfect, and everything cooked just right. The restaurant itself felt a bit dated, but the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Even though it was quiet and I was dining alone, the attentive service and conversation made the experience enjoyable. While the location is somewhat hidden in a storefront area, this spot has strong potential and could be a big hit in a college town like Tallahassee with FSU, TCC, and FAMU nearby. Overall, it was well worth the visit, and I would definitely recommend Volcano Hot Pot.

Babies crying, people jumbled everywhere, and a buffet setup that was super packed together near everything else. The good: host sat me quickly and my server was polite and super quick. I guess they got this down to a science? The bad: everything else. How the heck are these reviews high? This place was packed but I felt like if I coughed, it would be all over my neighbor and the food. It was a cluster f. I did the buffet. While they had a lot of options, it was jam packed together. And you bumped into people trying to squeeze through some areas. The sushi was mediocre. The sweet and sour chicken was off. The fried rice wasn't warm. Even my tap water tasted funny. I couldn't finish my hot sake because it tasted off. The wasabi and ginger even looked funky (I will say the wasabi had a nice kick). Best part of my meal was leaving. The miso soup was the only decent part. I should have learned my lesson from previous Asian fusion places but I guess I trusted the reviews on this one. It's clear to me; a lot of people don't have an educated palate.
