My companion who is very familiar with indian food , was just delighted and even ordered extra entrees to take home and enjoy later. She told me she had eaten at Indian restaurants in Chicago, Kansas City and other major cities.And this was the best she had ever had , as well. Our waiter Abraham provided incredibly detailed descriptions of the food. How it was prepared, the spices that were used and the chef even came out after the meal to show us the astonishing collection of spices this restaurant uses. On this visit we decided to order vegetable samosa, poori bhaji, garlic naan, chicken dum biryani, and the tandoori chicken. The only item that we hadn't previously tried from here before was the poori bhaji. It wasn't bad, the potato part was very good actually, maybe a bit saltier than we had expected if anything. It was the puffy bread part that we were thrown off by. We thought the puffy bread would be soft and doughy, but it was more flakey and crunchy. Our favorite dish on this visit was probably the chicken dum biryani. The chicken was tender and the chicken to rice ratio was generous. Overall, the service was fast but kind of aloof. There are plenty of seating options and the tables are spaced out far enough where you don't feel like you're intruding on your neighbor's conversations. One thing I appreciate about this place is that their spice levels aren't overly spicy. Their mild and medium are actually mild and medium. At some other places, a mild spice is really a medium, and a medium is really an extra and so forth.

It was hot and fresh, and I enjoyed it. That said, my experience with the butter chicken was disappointing. When I got it home, it smelled good but looked off. For $19, the portion was small, about the size of a to-go soup cup. It was brown with green specks, and I think I might have received the wrong order. I decided to try it anyway, but the chicken was cool in the middle and dry. The rice was lukewarm and dry as well. I could only eat one piece of chicken because it didn't taste fresh. It seemed like it had been made hours earlier and just reheated. The sauce wasn't great either. Overall, it was an unpleasant dish (see photo). I might give them another shot, but I'd stick to dining in next time.
