Sweet Elevation Bakery - Outside on a dreary day.

Best bakery in the NY capital region. During my time in Albany, I've been to a lot of bakeries. I…read morecame to Sweet Elevation 3 times in just 2 weeks. I don't remember when I had a more perfect chocolate cupcake, each time I've come here, the quality and service are perfect! Consistency and good service is what I look for. The attention to detail, hospitality, and kindness from Christian, the young man who works there, is exceptional. As I wrote before, the bakery shares the parking lot with the Yemeni coffee shop Shibam next door. The Yemeni coffee is just perfect with Sweet Elevation's treats, so don't miss this spot if you visit next door. I hope they can work out on doing something together. I've gotten hooked on Sweet Elevation's chocolate cupcakes. I'm having one as I write this review (these really are the freshest and best chocolate cupcakes) with some Yemeni coffee from next door - who knew how perfectly they go together. I'm very picky when it comes to cupcakes, and these are so soft, fresh, moist, fluffy, with perfect frosting with the sprinkles! Each time! It's really cute inside the cafe. What I'm most picky about is service, and I'm impressed with Christian, he's a respectful gentleman, knowledgeable, and really helpful with recommendations. Responsible, helpful, paying attention, intelligent. People my age often complain about the younger generation, they should meet Christian, our world's future is bright with young people like this. Good luck whatever you do Christian, and may you continue to shine as you do now always! Amen!

I attended a Baptism Reception on Saturday. My niece ordered…read morecookies in the shape of a cross for the occasion. The beautifully decorated cookies were delicious unlike others we have had that look great BUT taste awful. Hard and flavorless, after one bite, they are tossed aside. These freshly made shortbread cookies "melted" in your mouth. The butter flavor was subtle yet easy to pick out. The texture was firm yet crumbly, and they were moist! Many people wanted to know where they were purchased. I attended a Yelp Elite Event at Sweet Elevation Bakery in Latham recently, so I knew it was an outstanding bakery. I knew that they employ FT decorators/bakers for the cakes and cookies. I also learned that their Custom Cookies are a big seller. Businesses and families order them for special occasions.

If you haven't stopped in for a breakfast sandwich, you are really missing out! Most days I tend to…read morebe prepared and bring breakfast to work or eat before coming in...or just skip breakfast altogether and wait it out until lunch time. Sometimes though, I get hangry in the mornings and take a few steps from my office building next door to Uncommon Grounds. I had basically given up on their breakfast sandwiches as their pre-made, frozen egg patty is just repulsive, and their prices are a bit steep. Paired with lackluster service, I am not always thrilled to order from there. But, I tend to keep it safe and get a bagel with cream cheese, since that usually hits the spot. Today, I wanted something more savory and filling...so I walked a bit further and across the street to Fiorello Bakery and Deli. I don't know why I hadn't thought to stop in sooner, as typically Italian Deli's such as theirs do have some amazing breakfast sandwiches. But, I'm so glad I finally did! Seems like they are a well kept secret in that regard, as there were a handful of people in ordering the same thing I was...sausage egg and cheese on a hard roll. There was a bit of a wait, maybe 10 minutes...which is to be expected when you're making something fresh to order. The woman at the counter was extremely pleasant and friendly, asked if I wanted salt/pepper and ketchup on the sandwich...I opted for the ketchup on the side so that I could dip each bite as I saw fit. With tax, the sandwich was $4, which i think is really reasonable considering a similar offering from across the street is about $1 more and Fiorello's puts 2 FRESH eggs on their sandwiches. Paired with the savory sausage, and melted cheese, this sandwich was a literal party in my mouth that I didn't want to end! I can't wait to go back...although my waistline probably can...

Ordered a fantastic Italian sub online. I got there a bit early so I had some time to browse and…read moreended up getting some sauce and a black and white cookie. It was all soo good! Will definitely return!

I love this local restaurant! The baked goods are delicious and their tacos are sooooo tasty,…read morefilling and reasonably priced. The employees are really nice and service is quick and attentive. It's a cute small store, there are a few spots for eating but it's more of a bakery vibe than a restaurant. I can't wait to go back and try out more of their menu!

Daisie's has grown. I was the first to write a Yelp review for this business more than 2 years ago…read morewhen it was solely a bakery featuring Daisie's awesome tres leches (3 dairy) cakes. Months later, Daisie began offering occasional meals. I know that it has become a full fledged eatery. What a nice menu! It wasn't very busy when my friend and I stopped in for an early dinner just before 5pm. The business is still very cute and clean. Daisie has added a lot of Mexican candy and snacks to her inventory. We came primarily for tacos. My friend had chicken tacos. I had chorizo tacos. They were on small soft corn tortillas and were as delicious as they were authentic. I also had an order of flautas. They were three crispy rolled tortillas filled with shredded chicken and topped with shredded lettuce, cheese and sour cream. They were good, too. So was the slice of tres leches which we shared. Daisie wasn't in but there was a very friendly and efficient young woman behind the counter who took our orders and served the meals. The dishes came out of the kitchen in a timely manner. It appeared to be well run whatever hiccups previously existed were gone. We enjoyed the meal and stayed so long that we almost ran late to catch a show. I left in such a hurry that I forgot my bag on a seat. I didn't get very far before I noticed my mistake. I called ahead and when I returned, the young woman welcomed me. There were no customers at the time, but she put my bag behind the counter for safe keeping which was reassuring. I was so grateful and she was so gracious, I insisted on giving her a second tip / reward as a gesture of appreciation. It was a great experience all around and I look forward to returning to eat my way through the menu. Thanks so much.
